Please consider sharing the video with friends or your favorite spot on the internet, it really does help more than you'd think. Or don't, I'm not your dad yet.
@@Rocket-wn9kc That would be awesome, I love these videos. To be honest I think some do. Seeing as he’s interviewed some in the last videos of the series.
Same here. I was fine with it being a short game and enjoyed it quite a bit. I didn't think much of it but after the two experimental titles but it was a good short experience I played through about 2-3 times (challenge mode and not). It didn't feel as annoying to me with the raritanium modding weapons change compared to Crack In Time's drastic changes of modding or ship level select you can fly around to moons, do box quests and fly to the main levels among other things because it was short so I didn't think much of it compared to a bigger game but 2016 reboot was fine for quality of life tweaks, Clank levels being more fun and that was it remixing things into a reboot with not much 2002 content and cutting levels among other things (but I've gotten past it over time). But Rift Apart it did have the Tools like formula and made me kind of confused why Insomniac went backwards from Crack In Time when I assume most fans love it's changes (besides reusing gadgets again and it feeling like a Crack In Time 2 but with the Tools framework on top and it doesn't work) unless it's the story but otherwise I'm confused everytime I heard Crack In Time is great but the Devs went the other way despite the praise Crack In Time has when most drastic changes in games Devs know fans/players hate and follow up on it not go backwards from praise of changes to the formula. That and Nexus feels like a good use of the Rift Tether's abilities, and the Gravity Boots while not much made level designs that little bit interesting (sad not the Starship Phoenix idea though that would have been cool) then Rift Apart's reuse of Tools and Crack In Time gadgets/formula but less interesting (to me personally). So that's why Rift Apart didn't make a lot of sense to me, its a fine game but weird decisions were made with it that didn't grab me. Either way Into the Nexus is a fine game better than Quest for Booty as a short gap/new ideas/part Tools& Crack elements. Even for a short epilogue I think it was done fine. Rift Apart continuing it wasn't bad but even it's end is so safe that I'm just like 'so we still have this since 2007 story going because they don't know what else to do/want to string us along, maybe want another trilogy of games but still in the same timeline/future universe and find the lombax goal or something after the reboot/rebooting us like DMC to Devil May Cry 5 similar situation and even then it's a messy mix of gameplay on top of the fine continued story when it was fine with Nexus leaving it at he doesn't mind not finding them and again not caring but we have Rivet' right... Ok then. This series is fine but feels like it has an identity crisis at times on what they want to do with it/milking it or something and it confuses me. Their mature games/VR and so on teams seem like they know what they are doing more than the Ratchet team I think. Veterans or new staff/fans of the series working on the games even. Also I forget the internet reference period sigh. Why Devs why, who asked for this. That and while I don't pay that much attention a commenter in the uselesspodcast NOT developer commentary let's play on Rift Apart did a good look at the story issues. I can't even scratch the surface.
Seeing everything in the museum as a long time R&C fan since the PS2 was one of the best fanservice moments in the series for me and seeing everything in a walk down memory lane was done so well. Easily my favorite part of into the nexus. Also what was really funny is I got the game on christmas day the year it came out, and so using the snowman weapon was certainly in season/
One detail I liked was that the events of going commando was not referenced at all in the museum. And considering who was involved in its development in universe.... it makes sense. Hell, his alliance with Drek was left out :P
Really? I always saw it as rather half-assed, especially considering you get a better description of events and characters from wikipedia of all places.
Always thought everything they've done (or haven't done, really) with Angela to have been a missed opportunity. Even if they kind of wrote themselves into a corner with her character, given the chosen one/last of his species trope the Future saga adopted, there were ways around it. Have Angela be Azimuth's student or his partner (who stayed behind with him), or have some familial connection to Ratchet. Anything would have been better than the series awkwardly asking us to forever forget she existed (and yet, at the same time, making side jokes about her in ACIT). It's just weird and messy writing.
@@PaladinfffLeeroy exactly, at least there would be some sort of closure; and Goldenbolt wouldn't have to constantly make the "shut up, ignore her" joke
My clearest memory of this game is the time I brought it over to a friend's house because he wanted to play it. I got a call from my grandma that she'd be picking me up later that day, so I turned to him and said, "Alright, we got about 5 hours, should be more than enough time to finish Into the Nexus." He laughed, because he thought I was joking.
Nexus is definitely one of my favorite games in the series. It had the best combat, some really refreshing scenery and really, really good character moments. Vendra is one of my favorite characters in the series, and it saddens me to think she'll likely never come back.
@@yawns3004 Other games in the series had low framerate, but yeah, Nexus definitely chugs. It's incredibly easy to run too fast for the map to load and clip out of bounds x)
Played this game for the first time a few months ago and I did enjoy it. I was surprised how long planet Silox is. One of the longest ratchet planets out of any game. The Ryno was a lot more challenging to get in this game. There was many other things to do apart from just getting the holo plans.
Wow! This certainly was an interesting game, not only in how much Rift Apart built off from it, but also in how good that opening part is (in terms of a narrative at the very least). I knew vaguely of the story beats in this game, but after watching this lovely retrospective I see that many of them were (narratively) pretty well done all things considered. It truly is weird in how this series of retrospectives is nearly done with two more games left (I assume those are Reboot and Rift Apart if memory serves me correctly) considering how I found out about the channel just a week or two after the first one dropped. I has been a wild ride learning so much about a series I loved but had less experience with than I had liked (Rift Apart was the first new Ratchet game I had played since Deadlocked). While this particular journey is not yet over I want to say how enjoyable it has been overall. The humor, the honesty, the sheer amount of research and passion put into every second. It all makes for a wonderful time and I hope to recommend you to someone in the *future*, but only time will tell. I suppose I feel the need to exposit so much as this game sort of evokes that with its epilogue feel. Regardless, looking forward to the end of the series just to see the sheer seesaw of quality the next two games are for me, and looking forward to whatever comes in-between. Thank you kindly and I hope you have a great rest of day/week/whatever.
Much love, Sam, thank you! We've got at least those two left before we close out this retrospective series, and I'm hoping I can find a UA-cam-friendly format to cover the movie as well, but we'll see how that turns out or if I put that off for another day.
Seeing you finally talk about this game feels like a huge milestone if simply for the fact that you use the main theme of then game as the theme for your channel! I'm so going to miss these, they're some of the videos I always looked forward to the most.
Great conclusion to an awesome series! I always felt like into the nexus was really great and sort of underrated even with its issues! Thank you for taking us all on this really fun journey!
Chapter 2 of this story may be a wrap, but we've got one more chapter left to go before I call it a full wrap (and ignore the PSP games for a year or so)!
@@TheGoldenBolt If you try really really hard, you can ignore them forever. I've been making a good effort at it so far and I don't intend to stop now.
I think that most of the R&C timeline has already been written, because in ToD when you're on the prison planet, ( forgot the name) the automated radio voice transmits orders for the transfer of Count Vorselon, who became Lord Vorselon in ACiT. Speaking of ACiT, when Lawrence and Dr. Nefarious are talking about the great clock, Lawrence mentions the Progs.
The opening level in this game makes me wish Insomniac would let us return to the the prison ship, like imagine going back and exploring the destroyed space ship for some kind of hidden items later in the story.
@@Poldovico Ratchet already accept they are dead and willingly went after the ones responsible, so going back to explore the ship as a side activity doesn't really effect the story.
@@hassanghanim3966 It doesn't, it just feels... I dunno, off somehow. I wouldn't want to go to the place where their bodies are probably still floating around to hunt for collectibles.
The line that Neftin gives at a point. "Can you imagine. Seeing your own kind - close enough to touch but impossible to reach." To this day that line sticks with me for several reasons (one being personal and special) but in gameplay, it hurt so bad to hear it be said to Ratchet knowing the context of such a statement It's an alright game but I still do love it to this day
I am in love with this series and I've watched some of these retrospectives two or three times just because of how much I love them, I just wanted to say that I appreciate all these videos and they make me appreciate a series I already appreciate so much. I can't wait for the last few of these, keep up the amazing work!
I absolutely love it when a game pays homage to another game. I played ITN just last week for the first time and that introduction chapter gave me immediate Dead Space vibes. Similar to how Kedaro Station in RA felt like a shoutout to Alien: Isolation. Obviously R&C is not going to be genuinely scary but it was really fun to experience a fun "spooky" vibe in these games.
I want to see Vendra Prog’s reaction when clank gifted ratchet the repaired dimensionator, when Dr.Nefarious steals the dimensionator, and/or when a rift opens and Vendra escapes into an another dimension.
I definitely got "fat and greedy" after a decade of deliciousness, yet no matter how much the chief adds and improves, all I crave are those first few meals from my youth that you just can't get anymore...

I bought Nexus not long after the announcement for the PlayStation's closure was posted on the net, thought I should find some rare games so I got this and Tomba 2... then they backed out of closing it so yeah, I got 3 fun games out of something that never happened. Man, this game was as short as Size Matters, I don't mind short games but I think I went through at least 3 Challenge Mode runs just to upgrade everything and get all the trophies... and there's less weapons than Up Your Arsenal which took as much time to beat everything. Thank you for this retrospective on one great series, I get to see childhood favorites in a different light and have a stronger desire to try out the games I missed out on. Best of luck to whatever you're doing next. Nexus Vita is an annomaly. the Trophy page for the game on PSN has both a PS3 and Vita tab, the only other game with an error like this was The Bit.Trip and that was for a PS3 version when the game's only on Vita and PS4. I wouldn't imagine Nexus Vita playing any worse than the Jak and Daxter trilogy... That was a real mess
One thing I'm glad you touched on is that this is the first game since ce gladiator that had proper weapon balancing meaning weapons didn't become useless 2 levels after you purchased them. I'm glad this is something that has continued after this game. I also really appreciate the raritanium upgrade tree.
I remember loving this game! It’s been a long time since I played. And with the only 1 R&C game on the PS4 (and me without a PS5), it’s been a long time since I got to enjoy this series. There is a comfort to the rhythm of it all. And watching all of this just makes me want a PS5 even more so I can finally play Rift Apart.
This game was short but sweet and my only real gripe with it was the fact that Vendra didn't get a boss fight too. Also agree with you on the game's main theme, it's one of my favourite main themes in the series.
Hi there, I really liked every single retrospective that you have done so far, and I gotta admit that after watching them... I still love the series the way I did before, sure I now realize that it has a lot of dark moments, but It is the saga that I grew up with. Eventhough I am a 2005 kid, I love the ps2 era, it is by far my favourite. I really love seeing R&C fans out there, and I wanted to thank you for these awesome videos, and for giving R&C saga the love it deserves! Sorry if my english is bad I am portuguese...
You can emulate the PS2 titles quite easily either on PCSX2 or RPCS3 (if they were ported). The PSP games are basically perfect on PPSSPP. The PS3 only titles are slightly heavier and still janky a bit on RPCS3, but they mostly work. You can start whenever.
@@raresmacovei8382 1. Then he have to buy the ROMs or it would be illigeal. 2. Not everyone has a PC strong enough for that. Thats why I choose a comfortable and low cost way.
@@AlryFireBlade Legal shmegal. PS2 emulation has been easy for a long time now. PS3? Slightly harder, but it runs well on CPUs from the past 7 years. Depends on the game of course and if you're ok doing 30 fps instead of 60 fps.
I wish that I'd gotten to play this game. It honestly looks incredible, and I can't wait to see you do the last couple retrospectives, because you have an incredible way with words.
you can do, if you have good Internet. In PSNow the Game is included... so you only need a PS4/PS5 or a basic PC. I don't know how my it takes to run PSNow, but based on it is only kind of a Livestream, its shouldn't be that much.
I will say, the armor in this game is my personal favorites, it's similar to CIT, the upgrades are extra parts to the first armor you get, which reminds me of dead space 1, how the extra parts adds more to Issac's engineer suit, and I love armor that evolve as I progress, and I miss it, I love the armor set system in rift apart, but I do miss this style for armor, and that's another part of that "what if" bolts said.
The museum level is one of my favorite areas in the ratchet series because there’s so much fan service! Plus seeing the biobliterator turn ratchet into a robot was nice
Maybe it's because I played this game for the first time last year after a R&C marathon (I had played up to A4O previously), but the way ITN referenced the older games and essentially wrapped up the PS3 saga was really satisfying. It was like after all the tumolt of the PS3 era, they pulled it together for one last hurrah to make the type of game they really wanted to, only shorter. It almost felt like a short PS2 entry but with upgraded visuals. There are some little things which addressed questions I had, like Clank being able to fly with the helipack in that cutscene, I always thought since he can decend with the weight of Ratchet he should be able to fly around himself easily. Heck he should be able to rocket around with the jetpack. It's like they had the time (and/or knowledgable experienced developers) to go through all the previous games and the lore to develop a more cohesive and grounded in the universe game; (there probably are some plot holes I didn't notice) but with a shorter game it's harder to make mistakes I suppose. Edit: Also the music in this game is very underrated. I've listened to all the OSTs about ten times and Nexus is much better than it ought to be. Maybe a close second behind Deadlocked, 2&3 are also very good it's hard to decide.
Great retrospective! I don't really fancy this game all that much so I am greatful to see you give it so much credit. Also, it was really painful to see a Netherboss be taken out in 1.5 seconds. When I did this Wrench Only on Hard Difficulty, I wasn't close after 1.5 hours😂😭
youre videos are very much appreciated. back when ps3 was my main console i had no clue that the future series existed, i figured r and c stopped after deadlocked. so with ur videos i have been able to learn about them and come to terms with what i have missed. there really was no advertising at all for these games lmao
I don’t remember much about my initial playthrough, only that I was underwhelmed from the short runtime. But thanks to your videos I think I’m not only gonna give this game another try, but also give the spin-offs a fair shot now. Maybe I was just too jaded from the series’ fumbles during the PS3 era to really enjoy it
I really liked this because it shows that Nefarious isn’t the only good villain in the series. I really hope in future games, they come up with original new villains and not just nefarious. I like Nefarious but I wish they would focus on new villains. Also wish they actually make the weapon level ups more balanced and slow down. I get they want the weapons to be fully upgraded by the time you get to the final boss but I wish there was a setting or difficulty that slows down how fast your weapons upgrade. It’d make replaying in challenge mode more fun. Having to replay multiple times to fully upgrade your weapons to max.
Great video we getting close to end the retrospective finally! The journey was long but we getting closer to the end 👍🏼 Nexus is the most underrated game in the franchise maybe people gonna disagree with me but that’s my opinion. The gameplay is by far the best in the franchise the story is really good (even if it’s so short) weapons are not recycled (except for zurkon but at least we got his family debut in nexus and I don’t know if it’s good or bad because zurkon jr is alright until richard steven horvitz voice act him in rift apart and he’s ruin the arena challenges in that game) and in my opinion pink eye is the best final boss in the franchise. My only negatives about nexus are the 30fps, the release date and console. I hate when a publisher make exclusives next gen games multiplatform but i think if insomniac made nexus a ps4 launch title and release it along with the ps3 version maybe it’s could preform much better, sell more units at launch when the only platformer in this console launch was freaking knack and maybe make ratchet relevant in the ps4 era (they did it with spider-man miles morales and this game is basically similar to nexus with short story and release on a previous gen console) because this game is so good and very underrated a lot of elements from this game move to the movie tie-in game and rift apart. About Before the Nexus people always saying that it’s the worst game in the franchise I disagree, this game at least give you the option to get raritanium and it’s wasn’t that bad i like it and at least the game is better than the freaking psp games. Also raritanium not that’s hard to find in nexus especially in challenge mode. I managed to get platinium trophy in the game and this is the only game from the future/ps3 era i ever platinium (i completed tools of destruction & quest for booty but they don’t have trophies). Now we waiting for the movie tie-in retrospective.
Thank you so much for your ratchet and Clank videos Honestly you have made some of the best videos I've ever seen from this amazing series You've done extremely well
This is probably one of my favorite Ratchet & Clank games off all time. I loved the atmosphere, levels, and weapons so much I wish the game was a full length title. The game looks amazing for a PS3 title even though the frame rate is pretty rough. This game was basically a trial run for Rift Apart so I’m glad it’s getting some love recently because the game is very underrated.
All caught up Mr. Golden. I have officially beaten every ratchet and clank mainline game. It's been a fun journey playing and watching with your channel. Can't wait for the last two entries!
I still remember going for the Platinum trophy not long after this game came out, and playing through it 7-8 times to finish maxing out weapons within the first month it was out and having an absolute blast with it.
My favourite ratchet and clank game on PS3 for sure. I love the weapons, the story, the gameplay. Before playing this I had taken a three or four year hiatus from the series after selling my PS3. I’ve got a new one though and got Nexus with it. So I really really love this game because it got me back into the series in like 2015. It’s probably nostalgia, I just really really love this game. Also love the fact that it’s not too long so I was able to do two or three Playthroughs in about two weeks between other things.
Honestly, I was very young when I played the original ps2 games, and although nostalgic about them, I never really played them with real attention until recently. I got my hands on the future trilogy shortly before the movie was announced, and ended up playing them back to back, all thanks to my older brother's decision to buy a ps3 on a whim. I took a short break from the games after a crack in time, maybe six months. Then I found out about into the nexus, after spending more time than I'd like to admit reading the wiki. Into the Nexus kind of shaped the way I remember the the future series. It's my personal favorite, UYA being a close-ish second. Because of the gap between my playthrough of future and into the nexus, the amazing epilogue game overwrote in my mind the downsides of future, booty, and crack
Despite its 5 hours length, ItN was a concise experience with cool ideas and concepts and actual attempts at originality when it came to the arsenal. I'm surprised you did not dive more into the weapons. Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr get to appear one last time (even if they don't contribute much, if at all). And even though the story had to be rushed, the ending bring a final answer to the question raised since the end of OD (you know, until they retconned that) and is still open enough to let our imagination wander. I'd say the two last scenes at the museum were an ever better note to end the series on that ACiT - although, that will definitely depend on who you ask. I still wish all the time and resources put into FFA had been put into this game though. It could have allowed for a longer game, with more worlds and a more fleshed out story. The what if that personally come to mind with this game is "What if Talwyn had been more involved" and "What if Vendra had an actual boss fight?". Speaking of Tal, you have never spoken truer words: "That is actually the truest constant of the Ratchet & Clank series: [Talwyn] will never have anything nice happen."
I really appreciate that the score of this game is written with the same kind of bizzare hip hoppy esc vibes of the original trilogy despite being orchestrated.
Playing this game on PS Plus a month ago is what got me excited about playing ratchet games again. It's so fun, the combat works really well, but man its length really bummed me out. I wanted so much more
I have been watching your retrospectives after finishing each R&C game as I've gone through each game in the series for the first time, and you summed up my thoughts on this game pretty much one for one. I thought this game actually slapped real hard. The level design was pretty great and each planet felt pretty unique in that aspect, the combat and weapons had felt the most balanced since R&C1, visually and presentation wise it was pretty decent and the story tied up the PS3 saga of games nicely and makes you think the Future trilogy's story isn't as messy as it actually was haha. It was an almost perfect bit of R&C comfort food, what QfB should've been if Insomniac had all the time in the world. Anyways thanks for the video!
One of my all time fav games in the series to be honest. If it had just 2 more planets worth of meat on its bones I can only imagine the heights it would have reached. Easily my favorite villains too. Fun design, amazing backstory and fun gameplay encounters too.
Jesus Christ, finally, FINALLY someone gets it. Into the Nexus is my absolute favorite game of the entire saga. It's a masterpiece in my eyes, the only problem with it being its length. It's an emotional game, one that had new and amazing new villains and a wonderful soundtrack. God, I adore this game
I also like Ratchet's design in this game. He looks like he did in the PS2 era with his really big eyes, but without the polygon limitations of the PS2. And then they used those big eyes to make him very expressive. Just his new weapon acquired animation has so much character.
You can tell the insomniac devs were all over portal 2 when they made this game. Clank puzzles with lasers and gravity, excursion funnel gun, and the dark abandoned ruins of a long forgotten facility, the game being released in 2013 lol. It screams it and I love it
Okay okay, i'm only 3 ish minutes in and listening instead of watching, but the "he was a step from meeting his race for the first time---Shut up" made me BUST out laughing without even watching XD
Sadly Naughty Dog seems to have no interest in that series. Hope the success of Rift Apart show Sony somehow that they could do something with their old playstation platformers.
It’s crazy to think that with everything going on and clearly the PS4 being right there like a week later. That Into the Nexus was a ps3 game, and not on the PS4. Like they could have kept it short and just kinda been like “YO NEW PS, NEW RATCHET!” And like short or not, it probably would’ve done gang busters compared to what it did on the ps3.
This game was so bittersweet for me. It was so fun, but the length left me wanting so much more. Given that it took years before another mainline R&C, it was brutal because it was supposedly the end of the franchise.
I originally wasn’t up for the game on first play but I’ll wind up replaying. I did enjoy our old war bot duo as I found their old man banter charming as it really is fitting when your past your time of true glory and are way out of prime years. To combat the boredom or may I even say the depressing state they live in. I had a grandfather that had to deal this this real struggle as his exciting life became a life of boring existence (relatively speaking). I feel judgment on the old bots was always a bit extreme but don’t blame people for not knowing something like this. Aside from that they didn’t go out in a blaze of glory as they were mostly helpless in the situation and their meaningless deaths pulled at my heart strings. I also loved Prog as I was rolling my eyes all the way with his sister and was surprised to see the big guy turn over a new leaf. It was refreshing especially so when he was ok with taking on the punishment of both of their actions.
Nexus still my most favorite Future game even more than Crack in Time. 30fps & dips didn't mind me, the story has potential + I like Vendra in design & personality. I am still hoping & willing to existence of a full fledged Ratchet RPG someday.
An R&C rpg does sound good, I mean we already have an exp system plus mission system, so all we need is an open world, some more gunz of mass destruction, good moments, and we should be golden
You know this video made me think of one thing. What will insomniac do for Ratchet and Clank’s 20th anniversary games? Will they remaster the ps2 and ps3 games, a remake collection or just a new game?
I've been hoping for official PC ports of many classic PlayStation exclusives :3 I feel like R&C could translate pretty well to mouse & keyboard! But yeah, PS4/5 collections would be pretty awesome as well! Particularly with the PS3 games, but that's a personal preference ^^
To me, ACIT is the pinnacle of R&C games. There is just so much stuff packed in it and I enjoy every single aspect of it but I do admit that Into The Nexus feels great to play and to walk through its levels. I'm going through a little marathon of R&C myself at the moment, currently at Tools of Destruction (never managed to finish that one).
If you use the laser gauntlet weapon and jump with the rocket clank backpack high jump and use laser gauntlet dive move against a wall you can scale any wall in the entire game skipping sections or entire levels. So basically you just rocket high jump, laser dive, rocket high jump, laser dive etc and so on and you’ll climb any wall to the top lol fun glitch for exploring levels out of bounds as well
My favorite so far , beat all ratchet and clank games for ps3 this one and a crack on time being my favorites, currently playing ratchet 2016 for ps5 which looks gorgeous
It just sucks that nearly the entire R&C franchise is locked behind older consoles. I wish they would make a collection for ps5 and pc. Just some up scaling and 60fps. That's all I want.

What if I were to tell you it wasn't short it just felt incredibly short
Agreed, I also wish the remake didn’t exist and this storyline continued.
Yeah my favorite in the series so far. Now if only they'd give Talwyn more screen time. Sigh, maybe next game.
Mannn same here, crazy to think i was in year 5 at the time
I loved that quick shot of Angela Cross followed with "shut up".
A shame the devs ditched that but still sort of tried keeping her in.
@@LuxBellator92 Heck, even if they killed her it would have made more sense.
I would not have liked it, but at least it would make sense.
Same
Had the worst ammo crates though, doesn't even give you the ammo you need, it just picks a weapon you have and says "fuck it, give ammo"
The max 30 fps is really distracting and holds the game back
@@yawns3004 Other games in the series had low framerate, but yeah, Nexus definitely chugs. It's incredibly easy to run too fast for the map to load and clip out of bounds x)
This retro series is legendary. That is all.
yeah, even when the Games aren't retro anymore, because this Game is only 9 years old... Wait what 9 yearsalready... fuck i feel old now.
Played this game for the first time a few months ago and I did enjoy it. I was surprised how long planet Silox is. One of the longest ratchet planets out of any game. The Ryno was a lot more challenging to get in this game. There was many other things to do apart from just getting the holo plans.
30:35
What makes it better is that you said it as soon as ratchet hugged talwyn
The secret ending with Cronk & Sephyr is heart warming.
Man i loved playing this game but I do remember at the end saying "that's it?" mostly because I just wanted more.
I dunno man. Cronk and Zephyr are probably scattered in pieces around there. It could be morbid.
Such a great video. I always love your comedy! Now I’ll start waiting desperately for the next one.
The next R&C one will be a little bit away but there should be something else coming much sooner!
The line that Neftin gives at a point. "Can you imagine. Seeing your own kind - close enough to touch but impossible to reach." To this day that line sticks with me for several reasons (one being personal and special) but in gameplay, it hurt so bad to hear it be said to Ratchet knowing the context of such a statement
It's an alright game but I still do love it to this day
I am in love with this series and I've watched some of these retrospectives two or three times just because of how much I love them, I just wanted to say that I appreciate all these videos and they make me appreciate a series I already appreciate so much.
In Ratchet Deadlocked We had to Fight Ghost Robots
I want to see Vendra Prog’s reaction when clank gifted ratchet the repaired dimensionator, when Dr.Nefarious steals the dimensionator, and/or when a rift opens and Vendra escapes into an another dimension.
"Are you fucking kidding me"

Ha!
Love your retrospectives, been watching since last summer
I remember this game being very short, but I really enjoyed my time with it. Definitely a hidden gem, in a way.
I liked this one more than crack because not only was the story smaller and more personal, but also the gameplay just felt good.
Can’t wait for the eventual Tak and the Power of Juju trilogy retrospective! I really hope it’s sooner rather than later :)
Me:Has never played Ratchet and Clank or owned a PS3 in my life.
Also me:"Ah hell yeah, new Golden Bolt video about a PS3 Ratchet and Clank!"
Use PSNow, it is a awesome way to play these Games in my Eyes.
(I am happy enough to bought the PS3 back in 2013)
I highly recommend playing them if you ever have a chance, they’re pretty fun games^^

It’s on PSNow in case you have a PS4/5 and I think it’s available to buy on the PS store on PS3.
@@vireo2543 yes to anything, and he don't even need a PlayStation, a PC can "run" PSnow too.
I've rediscovered this game 3 months ago, and it was one of my best experience with ratchet and clank since a long time.
Its awesome to hear someone else has a love for this game and all its qualities and call backs similar to my own, even if the product isn't perfect
The museum level is one of my favorite areas in the ratchet series because there’s so much fan service! Plus seeing the biobliterator turn ratchet into a robot was nice
_at least you won't shed all over the apartment anymore_
I love this game for just being so much compact fun and still prefer it over several other ratchet games
Let’s goooooooooooo!!! He’s still making Ratchet and Clank retrospectives.
youre videos are very much appreciated. back when ps3 was my main console i had no clue that the future series existed, i figured r and c stopped after deadlocked. so with ur videos i have been able to learn about them and come to terms with what i have missed. there really was no advertising at all for these games lmao
"Babe, come quick!!! There's a new Golden Bolt Video!!!"
Great video we getting close to end the retrospective finally! The journey was long but we getting closer to the end 👍🏼
Nexus is the most underrated game in the franchise maybe people gonna disagree with me but that’s my opinion.
Idk why but every time you say the name of the game and then the intro kicks in I get goosebumps
So glad to know I wasn't the only one who enjoyed Into the Nexus. :D I really wished it was longer.
Thank you so much for your ratchet and Clank videos
Honestly you have made some of the best videos I've ever seen from this amazing series
You've done extremely well
This is probably one of my favorite Ratchet & Clank games off all time.
Fun fact on the trophies for into the nexus it lists the game is same trophy list for ps3 and the cancelled vita version still says it today
I think Allister Should be Alive in Rivet's Dimension
Explains why this was my favorite on the ps3 despite being super short
I platinumed Into the Nexus in one day, and I’d gladly do it again.
This has always been one of my favorites in the series. Great video and can’t wait for the next one
Also, the main theme to this game is legendary.
Man, I did not think I would ever see a reference to Sabrewulf in 2022. Thank you very much for that.
Babe wake up, the golden bolt posted a retrospective.
I gotta say the transition between video and ad got me impressed
Man I love the jetpack/hoverboot combo; it really makes me feel like a mandalorian jetting all over the place
the final boss was sooo tanky, i had to use my wrench the last stretch to beat him, and i loved the Magnet boots.
The fact nexus on vita got a rating makes me think it started but only ever got the opening done
Aahhhhh, my favorite saga continues
It was short, but still an underrated entry. I still love the Destructapalooza cutscene.
Into the Nexus could've been one of the greats...
If only it weren't four hours long
One of my all time fav games in the series to be honest.
Your intro music track synced masterfully with the Ratchet & Clank (PS2) and Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus intros!!! 🤤
We need an Arkham retrospective like this
I also like Ratchet's design in this game.
It screams it and I love it
Okay okay, i'm only 3 ish minutes in and listening instead of watching, but the "he was a step from meeting his race for the first time---Shut up" made me BUST out laughing without even watching XD
this is no joke my favorite ratchet and clank game
We Jak and Daxter fans have been starving for literal decades.
This was actually my first R&C game 😅. Despite having very little context with the storyline, I absolutely loved the gameplay.
Nexus still my most favorite Future game even more than Crack in Time. 30fps & dips didn't mind me, the story has potential + I like Vendra in design & personality.
I am still hoping & willing to existence of a full fledged Ratchet RPG someday.
@@bigpoppapump430 I don't give a F***.
A R&C rpg sound really cool. I wouldn't mind if Insomniac made a rpg in general.
We can only hope.
People at insomniac have acknowledged that people are asking for a remaster of the original 3 so we can only hope

ToD can be a big pain to finish if you're going for 100%, but thankfully we have glitches to make it easier, such as dino-grinding
If you use the laser gauntlet weapon and jump with the rocket clank backpack high jump and use laser gauntlet dive move against a wall you can scale any wall in the entire game skipping sections or entire levels. So basically you just rocket high jump, laser dive, rocket high jump, laser dive etc and so on and you’ll climb any wall to the top lol fun glitch for exploring levels out of bounds as well
Nice I've been looking forward for this video
Damn this could have been the best r&c game
My favorite so far , beat all ratchet and clank games for ps3 this one and a crack on time being my favorites, currently playing ratchet 2016 for ps5 which looks gorgeous
I'd love to see a remake of the future games

It 100% of the time doesn't even mean anything it's just a weak insult
It just sucks that nearly the entire R&C franchise is locked behind older consoles. I wish they would make a collection for ps5 and pc. Just some up scaling and 60fps. That's all I want.
Yeah I own a ps2 and 3 so I can play them all, along with my ps5 of course
Cant wait for rift apart retrospective !
Never played this one as I couldn't find it (didn't go digital till years later) but I remember being really hyped for it
why’d you change the name of the a4o and the ffa video 3 times
