In the early 80s my dad would take us our o his 24 foot bag liner cuddy off green port Long Island and go miles off shore , I remember only once never saw him and my grandfather getting worried zero visibility and thankfully they were worthy sea men they got us home thank God and we even managed to have another lost boat follow us back. I was 8-11 at the time best memories foshing catching porgies and flounder and bringing back lots a fresh fish for relatives
It was cool every weekend a different relative joined us lol best memories I have doing stuff with my dad. I always tell him that
I want a boat for the same reason it impresses me that so many years later with light years better build quality and a boat like this would be questioned for off shore foshing? If you check the weather and be aware to turn back any sign I think the dual motor set up gives some peace of mind if something happens too

Almost lost a boat there, can be a dangerous inlet. Incoming tide in video is no problem, outgoing tide can create problems.

Hi planning on purchasing same boat ...now how loud or noise are this engines??? and if you can comment on anything you don't like thanks

Si yeah, engines are loud for sure. If you are cruising 5k RPM you can still have a good conversation with the person next to you, but once you go full Throttle is hard to hear someone talking. One thing I don’t like is the Throttles you have to keep adjusting to keep both engines in the same RPM. Other than that Love the boat.

I've been looking at this same boat. How well will it handle 2-4 foot seas? Is it a true off shore boat?

It does handle wakes very good, you just need to adjust the throttle speed due to not having trims tabs but everything else I love it.
I’d say not a true off shore boat. I would feel more comfortable adjusting the motor up and down on a regular outboard.

@@travelchoice6395Thank you for the honest response and answering my questions. It's a beautiful boat but it may not be the best boat for me and where I like to boat. I really need a true off shore boat that is equipped with trim tabs. I am also looking seriously at the Key West 239FS which I believe may be better suited for off shore use. Of course it costs about 20K more than the Yamaha 252 I was considering. Too bad Yamaha doesn't make a version of this boat with an outboard motor and trim tabs. They already build the best outboard motors in the industry in my opinion.

Check out the smart tabs that they just came out with. I have heard good things. I'm asking santa for some this year.

If you are talking going far offshore regularly probably not the best option. I am considering one for coastal duty, I sea trialed the smaller version and its not bad. I take my 19 grady in the ocean regularly up in the northeast, but just to troll or hit some reefs usually only 2-8 miles out.
