Took the bike out for a 100 mile ride today. No issues in handling or bottoming out. It was amazing to be able to touch almost flat footed. The leveling out of the rake was unbelievable. I adjusted the preload on the spring 5 full rotations as well. Front is going to be lowered soon...stay tuned!!!
Greetings, As always another excellent detailed video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Did you have to adjust the chain. Thank you so much for assisting me and keep producing more videos
I am 5'7" on a good day. After lowering the back 2 inches and the front 0.85 inches, I can touch almost flat footed. I was on the tip of my toes before lowering the bike. As to how much would be touchi g given your height after lowering, I am not sure. Take two things that measure 2", place them on tlboth sides of the bike, and see how well you touch. That will give you some guidance. And yes, you can lower the feont end as well. There is a vid of that on my channel also!
I had a 14 R1 i lowered 1.75 inches in the back years ago and never lowered the front end. No wobbles or any issues at all with it. 👌 I will lower this one in the front here for sure.

Thanks for the kind words! I did have to adjuat the chain ever so slightly after lowering.
SOUPY'S turnbuckle lowering links
id assume the only reason for lowering is being able to flat foot the bike considering the change it has in ride characteristics
That and I want a lowered bike, again...
Squid alert. 🤦🏼♂️
You having a bad day or something? 🤣
im 5'3. do yo think i can ride the bike if i lower both front end and the centre?

lower the back 4in & you will be fine
Im good with 2 inches amd it rubs the plate. 4 i would have to stretch it massively.
Did you have to re-adjust the chain?
Just a small small amount, yes. Didn't realize it till the very end.
What are the downsides to doing this to a r1
Depends on how you ride tbh. Of course, you're changing the geometry, which means you aren't dragging knees in corners anymore, which I never did.
bike handled great yesterday on the ride I went on!
handling
Is it the same as 07 r1?
It's very similar. Lowering links will be different, of course, for that model.
only one link for a 07
Did you lower the front forks as well?
Not yet, but I will he dropping the front end soon and will post a vid as well
@@CrossplaneNation I would not ride it before doing the front too but you probably already know that.
Why is that?
@@CrossplaneNation throws off the geometry of the front end. Could get a death wobble

Seems sketch.
Why is that?
you seem stoo-ped.
@@CrossplaneNation where did u find rhw lowering arms from?
