I really don't think it is the nut...could be. The neck really seems to move too much and it pulls the guitar out of tune...I could be wrong but that's what it seems like....
I have this guitar and I can tell you the issue. The neck is so thin that even lightly gripping it throws it out of tune. Even grabbing the tuners flexes the neck enough that when you’re tuning it, and then let go, the tuning changes. EDIT: I also wanted to note that I upgraded my tuners to the Gotoh’s as well. This did help somewhat but ultimately the thin and long neck is an issue in my opinion, and the tuning stability issues are still present (but improved).
@@LonelyRockerI’m still trying to better understand the issue. I will say, any guitar will go out of tune if you pull on the neck. It just seems much easier to induce on this Schecter than my other guitar, an ESP Eclipse. This week I want to do a bit more of a deep dive and compare this issue amongst a few different guitars. My suspicion is the Schecter exhibits this issue more than the others but we will see.
I recently got a Schecter Solo-II Custom and it's rock solid...My ESP LTD Phoenix by comparison is rock solid...I really do think it's the neck too...it moves way too much....
I told the people @ String Joy that I could NOT put those on my B,c,Rich collection as anything with the word JOT in the Name was NOT Metal & I needed something a Lil' more Maskuline in name
I am not doing a 'well, actually', I promise... that guy is annoying! I have not had a neck pocket truss in a while, but I feel like my Cort I had and vintage neck adjustments are lefty and righty from the perspective of looking up the neck rather than back at the body. Did I see the video graphic do opposite of that? If I am off, tell me and I will delete this comment for sure (or you can and it will not hurt my feelings)... just trying to help.

Why no mention of the nut when addressing tuning stability? If the tuners are good, its almost always the nut.

Looks like we share the exact same issue. I’m really disappointed with it.

I don't know man...anything that kicks ass gives me JOY!! And those strings do kick ass...the more i play them the more I realize that....
Oh Yeah!🙌
I have the same problem with mine, the compensated nut is trash and the neck moves constantly.
Yep. Seems like this is a real issue.
Thanks guys
My pleasure!
Every guitar player should have basic setup skilz.
100%!!
That’s sad as the finest guitar I’ve ever played was the Schecter SLS just like yours but orange fade.
I've been genuinely frustrated by that guitar...I want to love it so badly but it keeps letting me down!!
4:52 me cringing at the wire
You're not the only one ;)
I would use Stringjoy strings, if it didn’t cost a fortune to ship to east coast of Canada.
It's that expensive?
@ well the strings after conversion are 16 a pack, and then usually about 15-20 to ship.
@ScreaminT81 I guess the key would be to buy a bunch to spread the shipping cost. Buying one pack wouldn’t make sense.
@ very true. Cheers! 🤘🏻
I hate seeing the issues youre having with guitar.
You and me both!!!!!
@@LonelyRocker i hope you make a follow up vid.

I watched him do it and just to be safe I referenced 4 other setup videos to ensure I got the orientation right. 😎🤟🏼🎸
