Wow Mr Stinnett now that’s something i could try and carve. I’ll let you know how I get on it may take awhile to find a similar type of wood here in Australia. Thanks again 👍🏻🇦🇺
I'm glad to hear you're going to give it a try, Kevin. Most any forked branch should work really good for it.
I'm an Aussie too and just about any forked piece will do just fine
I hung out with a guy named Chris Lubkemann for a few hours back in the 90’s at an Amish farmers market in Lancaster county, Pa. called Roots. I bought 2 of his books on carving these roosters from twigs. One from 1994 and another from 2002. He would slice those tails with a Swiss pocket knife and those slices would curl up like springs and he made it look so easy, a lot easier then it is. He actually put himself thru college selling his twig carvings. The 2 books I have are “more carving twigs and branches” and “whittling twigs and branches”.
it would be a absolute honor to be gifted a twig rooster from this man
You did make me smile with this cute Rooster stick!!! I love that you are using your dad's carving knife--always good for some memories of family. God bless you as you keep finding fun little projects to work on. I love that backdrop of Oregon Grapes you have your chair in front of :-D I want to carve a cluster of grapes, and just know it will be a major pain in the rumpus to carve a cluster of grapes, so I have to do it for the challenge. Stay well, Mike and family, and thanks again for the cutest little rooster ever!!!
Well, thank you, I'm glad to have made you smile, Jean! Roosters are a fun little pass time. The grape carving will be a fun challenge for you to do, but I'm sure you can do it! I definitely want to see pictures when you done with it! Take care, Jean, and God bless you too!

Your demeanor is as calming as the process of carving itself. Although your talent is far beyond my reach, I think I can give the chicken stick a go! Thanks for sharing this great video.

Доброго дня! В детстве дедушка для меня делал дудки из веток, тоже одним только ножиком, без особых инструментов и такая любовь к труду меня всегда радовал. Вы мне напомнили деда и беззаботное детство. Спасибо Вам!
You are very welcome, my friend! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
That is the cutest thing! Love the green trail feathers.
You are seriously the best! No hyperbole at all
:)
Oh my goodness that is so cute. Missed Pearly wirly though, take care Mike. Thank you.
Thank you Val! Pearly wirly was out squirreling around, haha!
If I tried that, they'd be sewing my thumb back on at the Emergency Room. I'll leave the carving to you professionals, Thanks for posting, it is relaxing.
Hello Mike! Im so glad to see you are doing well. Thank you for a great video! Please stay safe and healthy. My God bless you and your family.
Thank you James! You stay well too! God bless you, my friend!
Awesome old school whittling !! Thank you.
I started carving spoons about a year ago. It didn’t take long to want to move on to something new, and I’m like the progress I’ve made but to watch the magic of you carving a stick can really remind me of just how raw I am 🥺. Even at that it’s still mystical to watch a master with a … pocket knife … 😩. Boy I suck!!! Oh well. I still like to do it!😃 Thank you for your videos.
p.s. Give Perl my best.
Trent
Unbelievable! You can create anything from thin air sir. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Mike we are new subscribers and hail from Canada. We found your videos and have been bin watching your you tube channel. You do amazing carvings and have enjoyed every one of the them and just adore Pearl. The scenery in everyone of the is breath taking. Keep coming with the great videos it takes us away to a quiet place.
Great comedic timing Pearl! Mike: “I really like the bark of the dogwood” Pearl: “Woof!”
Haha!
Great job Mike as always, stay safe and look after our fav little pearl, all the best from Australia.
Great way to spend time during all this. Me? Still snow on the ground but I'm building Shaker lap desks for my grandchildren. Good to see you safe Mike. Hope you all stay that way down there. Carve on ...
The lap desks will be real handy for the grand kids, Joseph! It's good to stay busy with something you enjoy! You stay well too my friend!
Amazing .I can't see how people could dislike your videos ...i think they just jealous and mad cause they can't draw a stick man
I’ve spent the better part of my weekend rewatching this video and many others. At the risk of sounding a little sappy here, I just get mesmerized by the amount of creativity and patience you have while carving. I believe that all abilities are given by God and then how we use those gifts and abilities is left in our hands. Mr. Stinnett, I fully believe you are using your gifts the way that God would fully be proud of. You inspire, teach, and encourage others to venture outdoors and exercise their creativity. I know I’ve joked in the past about putting my carving tools away after seeing your fantastic results, but it really has made a difference in my carving watching you and Pearl. I can’t express my gratitude for your sacrifices of time and patience.
It's a cute little rooster that kids would love and even though it was only a quick one I missed pearl so please give her a hug as usual, stay safe .
Wow, lovely job you did and already so relaxing to watch. Super video, thanks for sharing, 😍

That’s a neat little project Mike. I hope everyone is safe and healthy over there, maybe one day I can talk Brenda into making me one of those awesome sweaters, if she takes a notion let me know what I would owe to have one! Take care buddy I’ll talk to you soon
Hey, Jered! They are fun, silly little carvings to do to pass the time. They always turn out different every time. The sweater is my most prized thing I own! Brenda spent months making it for me, and it turned out so nice! It's really comfortable and warm too. I'll ask her if she wants to make another one. We are all safe and healthy here. I hope all is well with you. Take care buddy! Talk to you soon!
That's great, Mike. As long as I've been watching you, I'm always amazed by your talent whether the piece is large or small. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and healthy.

Thank you Kenny! Yeah, Pearl was off wandering around doing her own thing. I made this little rooster hoping to inspire people to find ways to relieve boredom, haha! You take care, my friend!
@@StinnettSticks thinking about doing a little trout fishing next week that should help some get out in the fresh air and have some fun
@@kennymysak2079 Good idea! I can't think of anything better to do that go fishing!

Mike, you really are the Master!
Was Pearl practicing her social distancing this video😁😆😂
Thanks for sharing my friend. Jay. 👍👍
Thank you very much, my friend! Yes, Pearl was practicing social distancing, haha!
Pretty simple but and amazing piece of art
An absolutely magical transformation, Mike. Entertaining for viewers of all ages, and an ideal tonic for cabin fever. The video was made even more delightful by the sound of the banjo in the background; an absolutely appropriate accompaniment for the rustic nature of the carving, topped off brilliantly by the Wildwood Flower, commencing at about 3:50. Wishing excellent health and excellent coping skills to the entire Stinnett family while Wuhan virus-inspired concerns disrupt people's lives and livelihoods.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the music which was played by my friend from Canada, Jason Blakely. I have a link to his site in the description. I really like those tunes too! We wish you and your family to stay safe and well, too!
My daddy used to make things. Out of twigs. I love watching you do your carvens. Gorgeous Little Red Rooster. I agree with you. We are going stir-crazy. You and family stay safe and well.
Thank you Patricia! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! I had a lot of fun carving the rooster! I hope you stay safe and well too, my friend!
LOVED watching this 🐓
Not in my wildest dreams could I make that - it’s great. Instead, cheered up by watching you carve. Stay safe and well
Thank you Jude! You stay safe and well too!
Never could have a forked branch in my hands when I was young and not wanted to make a slingshot out of it although the rubber bands were rarely more powerful than the desk drawer variety. One memory from childhood was having a bit of scrap lumber on a weekend and enough indulgence to see what could be become of it to keep yourself occupied until it was time to come in from the garage for dinner.🔨🕰
Amazing as always.. Stay safe, Locked down in UK so a pleasure to watch you.
Thank you very much Ian! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
