    In this problem, we are asked to find the tangent slope for a vertical curve. First, we can type “vertical curve into the reference manual so that we can find the equations we need.
    This will give us the equation for K, which will basically give an answer in units of “ft/%” (I don’t know if this is an actual way to represent this in reality but I find it helps with unit conversions.
    Then we can find slope at the desired station.
    There may be a second way to solve this problem as well. I prefer the first way simply because it comes directly from the reference manual. To solve it the second way, you need to know that the derivative or elevation is slope, which is not explicitly stated in the reference manual.
