A gun stock would be really helpful as my hands shake lots and considering one of the main games I play is into the radius that effect is increased dramatically.
I got the sanlaki brand. He was the original designer of the magnet and pipe style of overhand gun stocks. He's updated it several time and its currently pretty choice. In tabor, it works with almost every gun I've found so far. That one you have is really cool looking but it looks like it'd get in the way in a lot of games.
Did you have any issues with how guns lay in both hands normally? I've tried using the standard Sanlaki gunstock and for whatever reason anytime I grab a gun with both hands, the front barrel just goes up about 5-6 inches. I've tried calibrating via the menus (which are incredibly jank and sometimes break you being able to grab anything) and now I can hold a gun correctly with two hands, but when I'm not holding the gun with both hands, it just tilts straight up in a 90 degree angle. This issue has been bothering me so much that until I find a fix, I can't get into the game. Personally use a quest 2.
I was just wondering if you could give a short green or redlight if I should buy it to? I mean one guy being possitive is nice but two being positive is even better XD
Not only good gameplay, but good editing and a really chill vibe going on here. Good video 👌 Also, I was on the fence about VR gunstocks, but man I might just have to cop one
I guarantee taking off the plastic shroud also saved you from a ton of tracking issues. That setup looks very similar to the stock I use as well (sanlaki). Happy hunting
I have a question at 2:21 how did you take the top off I tried to slide it off take it off and I couldn’t get it so let me know if I was doing something wrong
Take your time with it, do not use a lot of strength. There is a seam where the shoulder stock connects to the top frame. You can put a small amount of force into a 'twisting' motion at that spot, because the black pipe is threaded into the white piece. With that in mind, give it a twist: Lefty loosey
Just picked up the stock On mine you should still be able to use the sling with the top part removed on the butt end of the stock there is a hole that it drops in. just an fyi thank you for showing that you can take off that top part you are a bro.

my only problem with using a gunstock in this game is the lack of a calibration option, some guns like the SKS don't work because of the angled grip. the gun ends up pointing up making the sights unusable and it's quite annoying

Well, it seems to be working better than my DeadeyeVR ''Annihilator''. I have to say this one's controller holders are a bit annoying and, I think the way the controllers snaps onto the stock is a bit... rough. Good video. Thanks for sharing.
I just made one using the bracket pieces from my case to cover the pcie ports that aren’t in use and an old sks stock for my index works pretty well just the model 1 as I’ll call it did scratch my controllers pretty bad just tapped paper over it and it’s been great since
It's all US prices for the gun stock, and I live in UK, thankfully no shipping on orders over a certain amount, but the import fees... that's a different story, unfortunately
How do you play with smooth turning enabled?! Im still new to VR so probably not used to it, but just playing tabor with smooth locomotion and snap turning is enough to put me out for a few hours with nausea.
I’m really wanting to get a stock. But how does it work when using like a handgun? Does it still feel natural? Then if you need to put a weapon down how does that feel? That’s probably when something like the sling comes into play.
For this design specifically, it has the magnets that attach to the bar. As long as you’re using a sling, you can simply detach your hands from the bar and shoot a pistol and loot like normal 🤙
I'm trying to get good with the gunstock but when it comes to using your bag and trying to pick an item out of the bag like how would you do that with the gunstock probably a stupid question but i can't figure it out lol
Not a stupid question. With this gunstock in particular you’ll have to continue to practice with it. Eventually you’ll gain muscle memory and using your bag will get easier.
Hey bro, love the content. Just wanted to know how you’ve set the game to play whilst sat down as I’ve tried it but it sets my guy to be continuously crouched which is annoying. 2:52
Thank you so much! Sure thing, I gotcha! First things first, it’s always important to reset your Guardian for seated play. So, make sure you’re already sitting when you reset your play area and ground level. If you’ve done that correctly, you can load into Ghosts of Tabor, open the menu, calibrate your height. On the far right, drag the slider to your correct height in real life, but only click the seated position button on the left. Boom, it should be calibrated! Lemme know if you still need help 🤙

Yes, this is due to the fact the developers of Ghosts of Tabor have not created a gun stock calibration option in the settings yet. Once they have created that, all will be fixed.

Hows things suck as putting your weapon away to look and swap to a pistol and that sort of stuff? Id imagine you wouldnt have as much free range of motion with a stock?
It takes a couple days to get used to it, but honestly it’s pretty nice. You’ll win many more gun fights, and you’ll get used to detaching the magnets to loot and use pistols.
How well does this work for using side arms, can it be properly attached to in a hurry/detached? My biggest problem with getting a gunstock is I use my sidearm in alot of games and most gunstocks pretty much mean you cant do anything except shoot, which is cool and all but for Tabor specifically you need to have a much wider range of motion.
You make great points! I think the LoPro would be the perfect option for you, make sure you get a sling. If you have the sling, it’s just a matter of practice and you can still use sidearms. You detach your magnet, and you can loot, manipulate and grab etc
Hey bro a bit late but my gunstock just arrived! It’s amazing but I’m trying to figure out how you took the material off, I’m still currently trying to figure it out and don’t wanna break it.
No worries I got you! So, if you look at the white shoulder piece, you will see that it has a diagonal seam. You can use a firm grip and a twisting motion (lefty loosey) to spin the shoulder piece off. Once the shoulder piece is off you'll be able to unscrew the black barrel from upper white receiver.
Take your time with it, do not use a lot of strength. But, there is a seam where the shoulder stock connects to the top frame. There are some challenges, so I agree with you. However, my current setup allows me to do all of that without issue. It takes a bit of troubleshooting, but eventually you find something that works.

You detach your magnet, and you can loot, manipulate and grab etc

i love you too bro
Hey bro a bit late but my gunstock just arrived! It’s amazing but I’m trying to figure out how you took the material off, I’m still currently trying to figure it out and don’t wanna break it.
No worries I got you! So, if you look at the white shoulder piece, you will see that it has a diagonal seam. You can use a firm grip and a twisting motion (lefty loosey) to spin the shoulder piece off. Once the shoulder piece is off you'll be able to unscrew the black barrel from upper white receiver.
@@skuzzy115 Got it off thank you!!
@@ML15267 You're welcome!
How did you remove the top of the stock? I feel like ima break mine getting it off...
Take your time with it, do not use a lot of strength. But, there is a seam where the shoulder stock connects to the top frame. You can put a small amount of force into a 'twisting' motion at that spot, because the black pipe is threaded into the white piece. With that in mind, give it a twist: Lefty loosey
@@skuzzy115 Oh, I can get that part but I can't get the top frame to let go of the top bar at all and I can tell its got threads but must have lock tight or something... lol
I tried a similar guns stock once before, but it usually just ends up being a pain in the ass for everything except for aiming down sights. grenades, magazine changes, looting, all a pain in the ass.
There are some challenges, so I agree with you. However, my current setup allows me to do all of that without issue. It takes a bit of troubleshooting, but eventually you find something that works.
@@skuzzy115 Since you don't have a sling what do you do if you need to pick something up with both hands?
@@squidwardo7074 Since I play seated, the stock just sits in my lap.
@@skuzzy115 would you say playing seated is better or worse than standing?
Personally I love playing seated. There is nothing wrong with standing. I just enjoy VR more in seated mode.
I'm having the hardest time being efficient at looting and transitioning back to mounting my gun stock
This is one of the drawbacks to a magnetic gun stock. Don’t get me wrong, it is an awesome gun stock, but if this becomes too big of an issue for you there are other options out there!
@@skuzzy115 Thanks Skuzzy! I ended up ordering the brandodrums forearm grip stock. Your video helped a lot. Merry Christmas
@Patriotfb You’re welcome! I’m glad I could help. Merry Christmas!
nice vid, i have protube vr stock and cannot get the calibration in game to work at all. its so buggy and not functional. did you somehow manage to calibrate your weapons? mine either point too low or too high depending on the firearm. watched every tutorial, spent hours on the forums, spent about 3hrs testing and experimenting with different calibration methods in-game. Thanks.
There are options out there nowadays. I did run in to a few issues here and there with calibration. This stock did very well overall. Another great option would be the Ultibrace Gunstock from BrandonDrums. I did a video on that gunstock as well, you should check it out.
