Michael Crawford's return to the Ahmanson on New Years Eve 1990 (Phantom of the Opera)

Karen and Darrell on CNN! I stood in line for only 4 hours this time to get 10th row center last-minute seats from the cancellation line. The performers are given a certain amount of tickets for each performance. If they're not used by their friends or family, they become available at face value to those waiting in the cancellation line. I think many of the fans thought it so unlikely to get those great seats that there weren't so many in people in the cancellation line on New Years Eve 1990 like there had been for Michael's original run at the Ahmanson ('89-April '90). What a kick to get on CNN. That's me hamming it up for camera flashing the prized tickets. Fun memory!
