Those guilty of murder should receive an automatic whole life sentence: no possibility of parole, no release, no possibility of the murderer being a threat to the public again.
I graduated in 1975 at Western Hills High School- the same year Carla would have graduated. It was a terrifying and shocking time for many classmates. And a big shock decades later to learn the monster who killed her lived on our street (Marks Place) and in proximity to other WHHS class of 1975 classmates.
@@BrandyinIndy I don't know if he was on the short list at any point. What was so shocking was he not only lived and worshipped in the vicinity of Carla's home but his kids attended WHHS. For 5 years we lived on his street and another classmates back yard connected with his.
Carla's father was a Lt Col in WWII and Korea. And on Finda Grave on Carla's there is a photo album worth of pictures. Her parents are buried there in that cemetery
Her photos make me so sad...she looked so happy and full of life! I can only imagine how much potential she had to offer the world if she were given the opportunity to live. 😞
I can imagine Rodney has also spent his life beating himself up for what happened even though it wasn't his fault. I hope they can all find some peace. I hope the killer lives a long time, through many parole denials.
I'm so glad that DNA exists now. So many old cases are being solved because of it. The issue is, how do you get a life sentence and be eligible for parole in only 6 years, or at all for that matter. That's not justice for Carla or any other victim. No wonder why police departments don't want to put the money out for DNA testing on old cases. These penalties need to change badly. RIP Carla, forever more
Criminal law statutes are very specific, and each element must be met for a charge to prevail. Sometimes lesser offenses are included, and Court is able to run cases consecutively instead of concurrently, thereby keeping people incarcerated if parole is granted. Cases are not always cut and dried.
Especially for the state of Texas no doubt! Texas used be a state that didn't play around w/murderers, you were put to death. But not now obviously! Too many snowflakes out there that have whined & cried about the death penalty being too harsh so now we get cases like this. Makes me sick!
@@flocosta It’s sorely insufficient. No wonder people don’t hesitate to commit crimes. The sentence doesn’t fit the crime. R.I.P. Carla and family, Rodney has sorrow in his eyes, he loved Carla ❤ Disappointed in Texas giving that sick McCurly life but in 6 years consider letting him go free. So wrong ! 😡
Thank you for telling her story and I am so glad they caught this monster. I am disappointed about the justice system letting him be eligible for parole in 6 years. Such a let down for all the victims and families who see criminals getting away with murder their whole lives up to their old age and then getting just a light sentence which is not much more than a hand slap. It is disgusting.
Very sad story about Carla. It's too bad her boyfriend could not defend her more without getting attacked himself. It's great that DNA was preserved to finally catch her killer. Hope he rots in hell. RIP Carla.
It’s so sad what happened to Carla. My heart truly breaks for her, and for Rodney. I can’t imagine losing the one you love so deeply in such a horrific manner. Wonder if the boyfriends DNA was also found on the Ruger? And by the way, the older Ruger .22 pistols had the magazine catch on the butt of the gun. What's interesting is Ron said the coroner's report said the labs they ran on Carla showed she had morphine in her system. What allot of ppl don't know is that Heroin will metabolize in the body w/a positive test for morphine. Such tragedy for this beautiful young woman. May she forever rest in peace. A life sentence in Georgia is eligible for parole in 7 years, but it doesn't mean it will be granted, only that it's up for review. Court sometimes makes other charges to run consecutively in case parole is granted, so they cannot be released. An awful reality.
When given a life sentence, it should be LIFE! No parole, no ever seeing the light of day! Look how many scumbags get out just to reoffend, they should never be given the chance to again! Thank you for sharing this story, as sad as it was, it needed telling!
Its good they caught her killer but I too don't understand how he would be eligible for parole? What a sweet couple and so sad that happened to them.😔❤
Think God for DNA!!!!!!!! the laws are disgusting, no real Justic anymore... Crazy 6 years poor young girl never got a chance to live her life
Ron thank you for this video
When given a life sentence, it should be LIFE! No parole, no ever seeing the light of day! Look how many scumbags get out just to reoffend, they should never be given the chance to again! Thank you for sharing this story, as sad as it was, it needed telling!
THAT WAS SO SAD.
The judicial system is disgusting. Life in prison should mean just that. I am with you Ron on that.
And may the perpetrator suffer for eternity, thanks Ron,safe travels,👋👋🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺
RIP Carla ..it’s heartbreaking and needless the way that you died .fly with the angels 😇. I am glad you are remembered here . Evil walks amongst us…
Dang this is literally only 30min from me I'm in keller😢
I love your adventures and stories
Glad DNA can catch people. It crazy how he passed the lie detector test. r.i.p to her and family. Have a good evening Sir and The gang!❤️🇺🇲
What a heartbreaking story💔😭
life should mean life!
Its good they caught her killer but I too don't understand how he would be eligible for parole? What a sweet couple and so sad that happened to them.😔❤
I looking forward to seeing it.
Think God for DNA!!!!!!!! the laws are disgusting, no real Justic anymore... But that animal, he will burn in hell! but as for Carla, she's up there with the angles, and is happy as can be with our Lord and Savior... Thank you, Ron, for the great presentation once again brough with much respect and integrity... God bless, REST IN PEACE-CARLA WALKER. signed, Greg the Egg.
They are looking to see if he committed other murders.
Sickening that he got away with it for so long he lived a full life free as a bird I hope he doesn’t get parole 6 years in is an insult to Carla and Rodney
Bless her beautiful heart...proud she finally got justice she was so beautiful..proud Rodney didnt get hurt
