Loved building the Sky Defender, easily the best kit ive done since i started building in 2016 and best value for a kit this involved, blows Bandai out of the water no question.
Finally an in depth review on youtube! thank you for posting this! I got the kit and just finished the inner frame of the backpack and base. Its HUGE! its my first PG size kit. IDK what the heck im going to build when im done other than the PGU, nothing else is ever going to compare to how great this kit is. Even just opening the box i was blown away by how detailed and fantastic the full color manual is! As a graphic design fan, the manual blew me away.
I saw one built recently, and it’s amongst the most impressive 3RD PARTY KITS I’ve ever seen. The only negative I could say it has is the price, but it’s worth it.
For the quality and detail of this kit from the books to the illustration parts quality the price is more than fair…. Actually it just proves that Bandai is robbing us blind with their prices
@@kanelee7290 Technically is also one as well. IIRC, Einta plans on putting out a conversion kit for the head, and a shield, to make it into what is effectively the new version of YJL's Hi Nu.
You can separate the wing from the backpack by pulling down the peg on the second joint. No need to remove the main joint. Once you remove the peg, pull up the second joint. I was able to do it even If I did not follow the instruction manual. It is the safest way to do it.
The deluxe version brought additional Waterslide decals, metal etch, and metal parts for the joints. But i believe they included the metal parts in the normal version as well.
Uh, i building it right now , is the metal frame part is instructed on the guide book or we can choose? And can you tell where is the metal part is instaled?
The metal parts are located in the waist, shoulder pegs, and ankles. The guide does let you know. You can either choose to use the plastic parts or you can use the metal parts. The metal parts included in the kit are only for the waist, shoulders, and ankles. I am guessing to provide structural support.
feels like that Bandai steps so much back when see this build but i guess they planned to have KOSMOS RGB light from beginning which y they don't come with effect parts
Question does the inner frame part go together easyfor example I built the Eternal Star Glory 3rd party kit and while i enjoyed the build the inner frame some of the parts were super tight to go together. Does this build have that or are they easier to fit together?
Good question. This specific one that I built had no tight fitting parts aside from the ones in the wings, which I believe they made like that to hold the weight.
I wouldn't say fragile. But if someone were to be too rough while posing, there's a possibility that because the parts are a sturdy fit, they might snap.
Thanks for watching!. Well. You are correct. Because it's made from a company that is not bandai, it is the reason why 3rd party is said. Usually referring to companies that make model kits and are not big companies like bandai. I am really hopeful that Einta Industries releases another banger like this in the future.
@animousworks me too!! Im ordering mine payday and i can not wait to get it!! I came back to this review because i had questions and you answered all of em lol. Especially if its undergated and so on.
@animousworks thanks man. Ps i love your videos. Imma buy a godhand when i order this bad boy too. Cant wait to do up that cockpit/pilot detail. I love painting 1/100 pilots. Did you ever paint the base??
Oh 😅... I've absolutely thrown my nuts and screws away... They should have stuck them where the screwdriver is, not in a runners bag!! Guess ill have to shop around for some down before I build mine
@@animousworks some good news, I got a screw and nut set from eBay. 14mm screw and 4mm nut. The nut fits great but, I'm assuming some force was needed to get the screw to bite on the set that came with the kit, because it didn't seem long enough until I applied some force. All in all, easily replaced for cheap

100% agree. It was such a smooth build.

Thanks for watching. What I loved was the building process. The manual is so detailed, and the build process was so smooth.
Can’t wait to build this…have this sitting next to my desk but I don’t want to take it apart when the Kosmos LED kit comes out.
I have heard this a lot. Now that mine is built. I'm gonna have to pass on the LED lol
Thats where I'm at
For sure lol
I saw one built recently, and it’s amongst the most impressive 3RD PARTY KITS I’ve ever seen. The only negative I could say it has is the price, but it’s worth it.
I'd say that for a 1/72 scale model, the price is just right. But it is far up there from average prices.
For the quality and detail of this kit from the books to the illustration parts quality the price is more than fair…. Actually it just proves that Bandai is robbing us blind with their prices
@@ap1dot988 🤔 that is a fair argument. It’s 170$, but you get a lot of stuff, besides the mech.
This is an original IP, technically not a 3rd party kit.

I figured as much. After i set the wsd, i just left it alone lol
Do you have a short video on how to take it off? Just a bit confused but I'd imagine I'll understand whenever I get to building it
The part he mentions has hinges that slide in and out in a locking manner. So you don't have to pull and stress the pegs.
Thank you for the in-depth review. Excellent content. Was on the fence until I saw this review, just ordered.
I'm it was helpful. Enjoy the build. It's an awesome kit.
@@animousworks Thank you, will do.
If i could ask real quick, so the deluxe version / first batch that says bonus parts included is only the metal etch runner? Correct? @@animousworks

@@animousworks Thank you very much, once again! Much appreciated.
Just order mine yesterday and it should be here on Monday I'm excited to build this one already the highest grade I've built was MG.
Hope you enjoy it! It was a smooth build for sure.
It's probably gonna take a while to build it too have work and kids too so might take a while to build but I'm pretty sure it'll be fun
Take your time. It is worth it!!
This kit looks way better than I anticipated.
I feel the same way
Im waiting for your Giant Rail Gun review add on for this Awesome kit.
I am gonna have to look into that one.

Oh noooo. 😱
@@animousworks no worries tho, it's fixable lmao 😂😂🤣
For sure. It just tedious lol. I swore to never take the kit apart again lol it's the reason I passed on the kosmos leds.
Almost 2k views, thanks for the support everyone!!
Definitely can't wait to get mine in the mail.
Awesome to hear, take your time and enjoy it
There is 2 version, simple edition & luxury edition, whats is the different ?
Luxury brings more wsd decals. And i believe the metal parts. Though I've heard rumors of the simple edition also bringing metal parts.
this is an epic kit
I agree!!
Yes!!! I've been waiting for this video
Hope you enjoyed it!
I'm in the middle of this kit, i'm planning to do panel lining, gloss spray, decal, then matt finish.
That's definitely great. This is definitely one of the best kits of 2024.

This kit is awesome!!!
🔥🔥
TY for the info, just waiting for mine to arrived.
Overall, it's a very chill building experience. Enjoy it.
This thing looks so freeking cool!!!
It's an all around awesome kit.
fitting issues? any problem?
The wing joint was a little tight. But that was it.
Excellent kit all around
Definitely
How complex is the kit
It's not complex at all. The manual is super user-friendly. Anyone can build it.
What about a clear coat? What do you recommend?
Semi gloss would probably be best
Can I ask the dimensions of it's base?for enclosure purposes thank you!!
What kind of enclosure? So i can give the precises measurement.
@@animousworks I will make a custom for it and my basis is it's base
By the way, someone also released an injection alternative head this kit.
I saw the resin one, but I have not seen an injection one. That would be very convenient for snap builders.
150 pages for a manual and 1000+ parts ??? Now I am even more excited, mine will arrive probably in October.
Enjoy the build and take your time.
abt the hips, can i not use the metal parts so it doesnt squeek and get stressed?
They didn't include metal parts for the hips. Only waist, shoulders, ankles
🎉
Thank you!!
how good is the plastic? are those hip joints fragile?
I wouldn't say fragile. But if someone were to be too rough while posing, there's a possibility that because the parts are a sturdy fit, they might snap.
@@animousworks is there a way to make em looser like sanding?
@@animousworks can i send the hip pegs?
You can. Just make sure not to overland the parts.
Any chance you would be doing a review for the star destroyer exia? 😁
Hopefully I can get one in soon. I know it's still in the works, and it's really hard to get a sample for review.

do u recommend the metal parts?
For sure. The metal parts add more stability to the kit.
stomps even the MGEX SF in terms of detail.

Can you measure its height including the display base height?
It's about 18 1/2 inches tall
@@animousworks I think it is safe to say that it will fit into my Glass Cabinet which has 20" per layer right? 😅
It should lol I don't see why not 🤣🤣
