  • Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ highly anticipated testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday will be public, committee leaders announced, agreeing to calls from numerous lawmakers and the AG himself to put the hearing on the record.
    The attorney general over the weekend agreed to speak to the same committee that heard last Thursday from fired FBI Director James Comey, to answer questions regarding the Russia investigation.
    It had been unclear whether the attorney general would speak in closed or open session. But the committee put out a statement Monday saying the hearing is now set to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday in open session.
    A Justice Department spokesperson said Sessions requested the hearing be public.

    Some of these people asking questions of AG Sessions are absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional in the way they conducted themselves during this hearing. Pretty disgusting and indicates poor representation on their part. Even children learn at a young age to not interrupt someone else when they are talking.....

    Kamala Harris seem to not get that to disclose private conversations held with the President of the USA, in a public hearing, one need to gain approval from the President of the USA to do so. Is this too difficult twist for you Kamala that you cannot comprehend it? You know, there are some protocols that need to be followed sometimes…but your meaningless anger outburst will surely please your voters.

    • @devonboyer944

      The way I see it is he is not required to state a DOJ policy. The president does have the right to executive privilege and Jeff Sessions was just trying to protect that until the Trump decides what he wants to do with the information being requested. That's how I see it right now.

    • @kchambers777

    • @devonboyer944
      @devonboyer944 7 років тому

      No, I am not. That's actually a good point. I'm pretty conflicted about it to be honest. Sessions was dancing around the questions there is no doubt anyone could see that. As much as she deserved to be shut down in previous hearings I think she was totally correct in her questioning on this one. It's a difficult situation for me anyways. I don't know we'll see what happens I guess.

  • @MikeSmith-uv7dy
    @MikeSmith-uv7dy 7 років тому

    From the very beginning this video kills me. So you are going to tell me that even though you did go over materials you still can not recall much? Then, same argument I always hear from these guys is if I have nothing to hide then why not give me everything. Well why don't we turn that around then. Sessions if you have nothing to hide why not provide the committee with everything you have period and let them sort it out. The mere fact you would have to speak with a lawyer before a panel of your peers with appropriate security clearances can not read your notes tells me there is something being hidden here and had they not gone to such double talk and lengths to hide it I would have written it off and moved on long ago, but for the simple fact he is contorting his speech and his body soo far/much in this video gives me GREAT concerns that there is a HUGE something going on that we the citizens should know.

    Jeff Sessions is the United States Attorney General, the head of the USDOJ and is the chief law enforcement officer and chief lawyer of the United States government, yet he is incapable of answering a direct question with a direct answer? and openly admits he is 'nervous' by being 'rushed'. One would expect a man of his authority to be well versed in the law, and well prepared before any committee hearing of any kind, at any time, about any topic. That is HIS job. If our countries 'chief lawyer' cannot recollect pretty much any answer then he should resign and allow someone more capable to fulfill the constitutional requirements of the office to which it stands.
