The Global Combat Air Program - GCAP for short, is the trilateral project by the UK, Italy, and Japan to develop such a fighter by 2035. Japanese fighter will be a sixth-generation fighter that features the capabilities of the fifth-generation F-22 Raptor and more - a lot more.

I ave always held the F23 to be the superior aircraft.
But why would the U.S. government select the aircraft with the combat performance traits that actually matter (like lower radar signature, lower thermal signature, higher combat speed, range, and weapons capacity)?
