I recently tried to save an 87 Sentra with only 77,000 miles from a junkyard but they wouldn't let me - I'm so glad to see someone save a classic from being destroyed!

Oh my gawd!!! WOW!! In Australia they were called A Toyota T-18. This was my 1st car... Just got my licence as a kid! Mine was burgundy, Blue n Pink pinstripe, (don't ask-thats how it was) rubber bumpers n all! LOVE IT! Just LOVE IT!! I learnt to drive it! 1s... Wish I could've done 11s (open diff) handbrake skids, turns, spins, slides, oversteer, reverse J turns, weight transfer, rev match gear changes. 2yrs it happily copped the abuse, never let me down 👍✊ Awww! The memories! Thankyou🙏🙏
Wow takes me back! My brother bought one like this with the SR5 trim..same body 2 door hatch,black, with orange body side trim, and 2 tone gray and black interior. Had ice cold factory AC, he bought it brand new October 1980. We absolutely loved it, 5 speed stick, loaded, we drove it from Southern California to Missouri several times to visit family..when it was 5 years old, he was ready for a new car and sold this to my sister, still looking like new. She had it a little over 6 months, when sadly, she was completely stopped at a red light, and some drunk in a nearly new BMW plowed in to her from the back at about 30 35 mph, she was ok, bruises, a nasty cut on her forehead, the car was totally destroyed, back and front from being slammed into the rear of the car in front . But we sure had fun with that nice, BRAND NEW Corrola!

Wow, what a find. I was hapoy when the YT channel Classic Ride Society of Dallas TX showed an 82 Corolla SR5 picked in the yard- I wanted to drive 5hrs to go see it. Your new 81 is so cool. My sis 1st car was a used 81 Corolla wagon. It was a die hard car & she got it abused. That 81 you found seems lighly used and cared for. My goodness what a find. I ❤ TEQ
My family and I migrated to the USA in 1984. I remember my dad and I stopped by at a used car dealer lot and saw one like this but brown for sale. It was 3 years old. My dad asked the sales guy how much he wanted. The sales guy told him how much and my dad looked crushed. He and I walked away and got in the family 1973 Datsun and said, "One day son, I will buy one of those." My parents didn't make much money. All we could afford as a family was a brown unreliable Datsun wagon. He's forgotten about that car and incident. However it still sticks to my head to this day. He's bought better and more expensive cars over the years. It would be nice if one day I get lucky like this lady and buys one of these cars and surprise him.
Thats a diamond right there well done keep it clean as it is maybe someone's life line it was precious car i have a 1980 ke70 4 door clean condition but this one is a gem live you all for saving these reliable loyal cars they help the owner in every situation even when they are poor it goes with the flow. Love who manufactured it japan is best.
Just paused this vid about 3 min and all im thinking is good cop bad cop and guessing when he sd up to 20k he's gonna ask well over 5 to 7k.....😕 also, im highly addicted to the yard, fab work and everything in between just like every guy here, we are amazed not only by your knowledge but also your passion and zeal for what most take for granted.
