Determination, and work ethic, yes emotions run high when you want something bad enough , either the brain will kick in or exhaustion and tears, your accomplishment and pride of a job will done will always propel you into a state of mind that brings happiness! Awesome video!
Hearing all the Air Force terms is awesome.. "Benchstock", "Complied with".. I Love it! I miss it, even though I work at Hill AFB now but as a Contractor.
Yes to the Kyla question and the other Sarah too. I use dish soap for installing rubber parts when required. Mix it with water a little heavier than usual. In a pinch it works for Tires and hoses. You should be aware that it has residue that will make the parts sticky for disassembly
One of your commenters suggested, “… if you gave us advanced notice that you would be late one day on your videos, no one would mind…”. For the record, I don’t need a notice. Post whenever you want. I’ll watch and “like” regardless. Your work is QUALITY. You’ve taught me SO MUCH and inspired me to dive into a few of my own projects with very positive results. Just keep “doing you” at whatever pace you want. We are with you!!! And, your bay is bae. That valve cover is slammin’! I admit, I was skeptical at first, but your instincts and tastes are great. Thank you for sharing!!!
A lesson on driving a standard with a newbie would be grand. My niece is reluctant to learn, so seeing another newbie learning would really help her confidence.
Aww, giirl this is awesome, I'm proud of your accomplishment, she looks sweet in black with the silver font. The new pipes defenitely do fit better, for sure!
Hey Sarah, the 2 vacuume connections at your throttle body need to not blocked off. The usually plumb too a VSV and this to a charcoal Canister, this also vents off the petrol tank, so its a good idea to have one. But for now the two vac conections should be as - On idle: No vaccume On open throttle: Vaccuume
Your new distributor o-ring will probably take care of the problem, but keep in mind there's also an internal seal that dry rots and causes leaks around the cap. TwosRUs sells a repair kit for it.
Making progress. Mid-engine cars are a bear. I hope that o-ring is made from some oil resistant material otherwise it will start leaking again in a month or two. I did a lot of cad-plating on my own build. Plating is neither cheap nor quick. Few places do it anymore because it's very expensive to dispose of the chemicals. With so few platers out there they tend to get overwhelmed with work.
Sarah. Get a cheap bench grinder and put a wire brush wheel on one end. You will use it everyday and its so easy to clean hardware, tools and other stuff with. Wear eye protection every time you use it though!
Evaporust is a great product to use if you want hardware to soak in it overnight to remove rust. It even worked so well to restore an idler pulley bearing on a 1972 rotatiller to a like new state. Give Evaporust a look. Should be able to source it locally. Keep up the great work!
You did a great job on the engine bay and glad you sorted out those leaks. I had a 93 MR2 turbo and watching yours makes me regret ever selling it. It's a very special car and was also my babe.
And nowI could never forget even if I wanted to Bay looks great Nice touch with the Toyota logo in 25 years and 181,000 miles the only oil my MR2 ever leaked was from that O-ring on the distributor replaced it at 120,000 miles bought it with 119,000 owned it for 10 years and yes teaching someone to drive a stick is a lot of fun should make a good video thanks for all that you do john
Sarah, the multiple days in one video works very well! Also, sticking with the philosophy of "keep the car drivable" is also very rewarding - you can see that on your face. (have a starting point and a definite End point). Great job! ALSO, do not hesitate to send some pictures of your MR2 project to the President of Toyota in Japan and a narrative of yourself (no, I'm not kidding) ; I think you would be very surprised at their / his reply. Do it!!
When I see you've posted another video, I just have to watch it. Right now my progress on my project vehicle sucks.... so much for a winter project - now that it's summer, I have just renamed it my two year project...
I’d forgotten just how freak’n awesome MR2’s look! They were always my fav car when I was a teenager. Never had the opportunity to own one, but your vids are making me want to go out and find one! 🤟🏼
Bench stock - love it. Actually get a kick out of your military related innuendos (was a weapons load toad for many years). Engine bay looks great !!! Don't forget to sign off the forms :) :)
That was hot when you remove the black over the Toyota logo. What you can also do is use enamel thinner and swabs to remove paint from raised spots. Called reverse wash. Im addicted to your videos.
Another great chapter in the life and times of Mr. Dos. I thought it was hilarious that you chose to revisit the "deer leg spot." But that's part and parcel to what you do. Good call to replace those stupid phillips head screws on the valve cover with allen head cap screws. I would vote for you to do a video of your assistant learning to drive a stick shift. Your reaction will be the funniest part of that video. As always, keep up the great work. Love your channel.
I will see any guests you choose to bring into videos! Love the content, keep it up! And don't worry about the little things, we all miss stuff here and there, and have all had to redo things before! GJ!
Hi the Sarah, I really like it how you always take the time and try to make everything look nice and clean. Your MR. Dos definitely is way better than new 👍
Awesome job as usual Sarah. The engine bay looks clean and easy on the eye. Guys get angry at times with some things, so don't beat yourself up about crying, at least it let's out your emotions which we love about you being truthful. Would love to see you teaching Kayla with manual transmission. Looking forward to watching ☺✌
I was just digging through hardware the other day and found a bunch of extra S/S button head socket head cap screw I should have sent you. Looks a lot cleaner than the standard cap screw.
Good job, Sarah! You have inspired me to install a new power steering pump and rack into my 03 Acura TL Type S and save $1100 in labor costs. All the parts should be here by Monday. Then I am prepared for busted knuckles and lots of cussing.
Shifting in a Focus is pretty easy. You need to get something like a 64 Valiant where it's impossible to let the clutch out without shaking loose all your fillings!!
Changing those screws cleans it up sooooo much... love his perfect you do stuff.. I legit did a vid and done my valve cover in wrinkle red this week, I sort of wish I’d done a plain colour though.
HKS is the onlyb one with that mounting system, You can get adaptors , but why. HKS SSQV's are pretty much the best out there. There is no chance they will creep under load.
Ive owned a few toyotas with distributors and i highly recommend going to your nearest toyota dealeeship and order a new ring for the distributor. One you can get at ur local auto parts store dont last as long and will start to leak in about 3 months. Had that issue on my 89 mk1 mr2, 89 celica gts and my current 92 paseo. Its a toyota thing. The seal only cost like $2-3 at the dealer.
Gotta be careful how much I watch your videos. I find them really interesting, informative because of the way you document your work........and you are sooooo easy on my old eyes (lol)
Your attention to detail is amazing and yes, I would like to see your new camera girl learning to drive a stick! If Sarah was running for President, she would be Baberaham Lincoln! 👧
Lol the struggle is real jk Hks bov has 8 baby Allen’s holding the front cover just Incase you want to put in another one without scratching it. Ps angled snap ring pliers help to and yes I own a mr2 w/ hks bov. No other bov fit hks flange nicer cut flange off and have a welding shop tig on a flange of your choice. I would suggest removing rain catcher on engine lid for improved cooling.
Kind of thought there would be a "that's what she said" after the o-ring replacement on the distributor. Yes, a video with your new videographer would be great. Also, your engine bae looks fantastic. You have amazing attention to detail. Also appreciated your ASMR innuendo.
So my question from a prior film has been answered; yes the hair dryer thing on the charge pipe is a pop off valve. Yes, I have been around Indy Car racing too much (a blow off valve is known as a pop off valve in Indy Car).
Baywatch with you is so much better than watching the real thing! I'm glad you kept the O ring OEM black the turquoise would have bothered me. haha Test drive Mr Dos before boost and yes to drivers ed with Kyla.. 🚫 😢No tears. You've done a great job! 🙌🏻😊
Um, the amount of time and work you put into detailing and the way you make the original style of the car pop is sick and genius both at once. Sick in a good way! Editing is great, and you’re leaving the innuendo to our senile/juvenile/feeble imaginations. 🚗🧘♂️🤹♀️🌞
Great work, wow! Got the same old hks blow off valve lol , not sure what else fits either sorry.. looking fresh under the hood, with that valve cover, piping, silicones, tbolt clamps 👍💓👍
Yes, we want to see you teach Kyla to drive a manual. 👍🚩
I'm just here for the innuendos. And you never disappoint.
Love how you always want perfection, even on a budget. Wish techs at repair shops had the same mindset.
Determination, and work ethic, yes emotions run high when you want something bad enough , either the brain will kick in or exhaustion and tears, your accomplishment and pride of a job will done will always propel you into a state of mind that brings happiness! Awesome video!
That shiny "Toyota" on the satin-black valve cover looks awesome! A very stylish choice
100% yes on the Kyla learning manual video. After you get her addicted, have her help you work on them too! :D
Yes, it would be nice to see you teach Kyla. The MR2 is looking beautiful!
Hahaha, your awesome! Love watching your videos, keep on keeping on!
Hearing all the Air Force terms is awesome.. "Benchstock", "Complied with".. I Love it! I miss it, even though I work at Hill AFB now but as a Contractor.

Valve cover looks great. The contrasting Toyota font is what makes that project a success. The engine bay now looks like it means business.
Rock on Sarah!! Mr Dos is looking good!! 😂
As someone from the midwest, it is absolutely ADORABLE that you think that hardware ( 3:46 ) is crusty.
Amazing amount of work you get done in a short time, Sarah. My projects drag on forever, it seems like. Great looking engine bay!
"no glove, no love" Haven't heard that one in a while.
Dennis Ferguson *forever alone*
They to say that when i was donating sperm
lol
Yes Sarah. I would agree. The black valve cover really makes a difference.
A lesson on driving a standard with a newbie would be grand. My niece is reluctant to learn, so seeing another newbie learning would really help her confidence.

Next time if you want to fill those deep scratches in metal you can use JB weld.

I appreciate your push to work on your own car, no matter the project. Keep up the good work. I've been slowly working on my veilside Rx7.
Good job. I think your engine bay looks muuuuch better now. You have good taste.
It shows the little details do make a big difference nice job 👍👍👍
Valve cover looks good. You should get a Do Rag for your hair when doing the engine work...
Give it the Beans...
scientilosopher.blogspot.com/2019/07/american-smoked-pork-and-freedom-beans.html
Yes on the manual teaching!!! And try anaerobic gasket maker instead of silicon. I work on big trucks and swear by the stuff!!!
Not going through 450 comments but the inuendo at 2:45 Gold!

Watching these videos makes me want to head to my garage and work on my project! It also makes me miss my Gen4 swapped '91 MR2.

You have to road test the 2 when you're done. I had an original 2 back in the day. I'm reliving my old memories through you. 😘

Get the throttle body adaptor from ats it’s cheap and looks mint, polished or brushed options, it also has a larger internal diameter
Hey girly I got a tip for lettering. Use chap stick on the letters before you paint. Paint wont stick to it and then you can just wipe if right off.
Good job! Way to stay with it. The valve cover and the engine bay look great!
Good work Sarah! Love the valve cover! Looking forward to seeing/hearing the MR2 run...
bay is looking great valve cover came out great with the toyota polished great contrast to the bay with the new piping and hose's.
Valve cover looks awesome. Makes me wanna strip the plastic off my 5.7 hemi and paint something.

yeah great choice on the valve cover paint !
Hi the Sarah,
I really like it how you always take the time and try to make everything look nice and clean.
Your MR. Dos definitely is way better than new 👍
Love the New England accent! In Boston loving this video! The MR2 is sweet! Trying to find one myself...!

Oops, Kyla, not Kayla!! Not enough lube in my thought cogs 😁😉
I always find it easier to connect a hose by lifting it up into position rather than pushing it down. Also i agree the more Lube the better.
12:36 I said the same thing work on my Dads Toyota as he walked in the garage and asked me who I was talking too lol
I was just digging through hardware the other day and found a bunch of extra S/S button head socket head cap screw I should have sent you. Looks a lot cleaner than the standard cap screw.

Sarah you could electropolish the hardware. No plating but it would come out very shiny.
Mr DOS is looking sharp. Good job, Say-Ra!
