    Take a look at this amazing building and you will soon see all the things left behind from the Royal Air Force days when this amazing station defended Britain from Russian attack. Within minutes this airfield would send up a lightning jet to intercept the Russians and chase it away. The building I explored in this video was the life’s and soul of airman personnel who help defend the U.K. airspace. I was absolute blown away with amount of stuff left behind here even RAF blue box gear and personnel possessions.
    RAF Binbrook was stood down from front line service in 1988.

    Great video, sad to see it like this (though my room was always a bit of a mess!) but it brought back loads of memories. Used to live in 'Bishop block', room 19 back in the 70's

    None of the crap found on the ground floor belongs there, a lot of it is too new. Most RAF blokes spent their money on beer, cars and motorbikes.
    I think the block must have been used as a business fixing up electrical consumables.

      Those TVs was in all the blocks I explored that day all had the same service tags on. There was maybe 100 TVs. There’s blue box gear in there. Me dad got a lot of stuff from here cause me uncle was in charge of MT at the base. Radio gear. Valve stuff. Looking at some of the stuff I think maybe your right about other electronics are to new. Got me wondering now Ken. Thanks for watching 👍👍

    Great video. I’ve actually been in these blocks, when I was on annual camp with the Barnsley Air Cadets. It was 35 years ago so I can’t remember if we slept in the H block or if we had lessons there of some sort. This video doesn’t half take me back though. Brilliant mate, thanks. 😊

    Dont really know what im here for. My grandfather completed a full tour plus one, 31 missions, flown in wellingtons and lancasters out of RAF Binbrook, 460 squadron, 1941-43. Tail gunner as well so that full tour was a rare one. He then went back and trained bomber gunners up until VJ day.

      @@AdventuresWithJay No sorry Jay I am a photographer in my spare time but I have a massive interest in abandoned military bases and secret aircraft, I have always liked Matts video's on the Secret vault and have have always looked up to him as the most knowledgeable in this field, I am not keen on the exploring with fighters gang as I feel a lot is pushed to only get likes and subs and feel it's damaging to the honest people that want to find the truth.

    Stayed in "Gray Block" during ATC Summer Camp with 287 Squadron, Edinburgh, July 1975. The accommodation was all open plan back then, with no individual living quarters. Obviously, within hours of our arrival some wag had removed the "R" of "Gray Block" from above the main entrance! 😂

      @@AdventuresWithJay Back in July 1975 Binbrook was an operational base with two Lightning squadrons, nos. 5 & 11. There were also AEF (Air Experience Flight) Chipmunks and I had my first ever powered flight.😁 During the week's camp, along with the usual sporting activities, 'square-bashing' (drill), church parades, night exercise, visit to Grimsby 😱etc, we were also sent to one of the squadrons to 'help out', i.e. get in the way of the groundcrews! I was sent to 11 Sqn and this led to being allowed in the cockpit of a Lightning. What's not to like? Happy days. 🤗

      I can remember swimming underwater in the pool and still beating able to hear the small arms range shooting. My auntie worked in the little school and uncle worked at MT. This was through the 70s and 80s.

    Strange they left so much stuff behind. I worked for the RAF in stores and everything would normally be returned to stores or sold locally. Looks like a lot of that stuff was dumped there from other buildings. You wouldn’t have all that video and computer gear in an accommodation block.

    • @AdventuresWithJay
      @AdventuresWithJay  3 роки тому +1

      Think someone’s said it could of been another business that’s left all there stuff in their Jonny. It would make sense. Most of all the other bases we have explored have been gutted and emptied

    • @johnnydiamondsmusic1673
      @johnnydiamondsmusic1673 3 роки тому +1

      @@AdventuresWithJay yes that computer gear looked lot more recent than 1988 when the station shut. When I got made redundant when my unit closed our building was emptied of everything on the inventory and anything scrap disposed of. It was clean as a whistle apart from storage racking when we left. There’s a video on here of RAF Sealand closed down buildings that people were allowed to visit a few years back. My building was shown, the one with a Tornado tail fin in there. Which was never there when we left as we didn’t do anything to do with airframes. Have a look for it.

      My auntie worked at the Cheche on Binbrook and uncle worked on MT for a while before they moved to Valley. Someone put a live fuse in his filling cabinet and he call bomb squad in to defuse it. The guy who planted it was instantly dismissed from the RAF
