Grimsby docks open day 2024 Well let’s start by saying it’s nice to have had more to look round since the 2023 open day. Grimsby docks is attracting more business as it evolves which is a great thing to keep the docks alive. On our visit today we saw how fish was smoked on the Alfred Enderbys tour of their production. We took a look at some of the old rail left behind and closed factory’s not t...
Abandoned Georgian Vicarage
Переглядів 97Місяць тому
This abandoned Georgian vicarage was built around the 1850s as a local told us. Sadly we cannot find no information on this house at all considering it’s a Georgian town house construction. A local told us the owner was living in the caravan up until last year. He was offered the sum of 2 million pounds to sell the house a few years ago but the owner wanted to hold onto it for more money. As of...
Abandoned Little Lighthouse

In this video we found an abandoned lighthouse once used for ship docking onto a nearby jetty. Once a popular dog walking spot I wonder what the future of this light house is.

Grimsby Docks Open Day 2023

In this video I was lucky enough to visit Grimsby docks for the open day 2023. Fantastic to see some of the buildings getting other uses but sadly so much of the docks history is crumbling away or has already been demolished. I hope you enjoy this video. Feel free to add comments like and share.
Raucby Asylum
Переглядів 134Рік тому
Me Siobhan Kris and Richard take a trip to Raucby Asylum as it’s now open to explore. Here is some info on Raucby Asylum. An isolation unit, built in 1919 on the western edge of the site was never used as such; instead it housed those residents working on the farm.[1] The facility became Kesteven Mental Hospital in 1924 and Rauceby Mental Hospital in 1933. In 1940 the building was taken over by...

Western Approaches HQ Bunker Liverpool

#bunkers #exploring #liverpool Me and Siobhan explore the World War 2 HQ bunker museum in Liverpool. We couldn’t believe how good it was and the condition it was in. The bunker runs very close to town hall. Many many locked doors which always makes me wonder what is behind them.

No squadies ever lived in there. It was Airmen. I was one of them.
How do you get in
Did my 6 weeks basic here in 1975. Happy days !
Dock open days when I was a kid we're brilliant sad to see it so run down.fishing heritage centre should of been built there.nice to see some renovation going on though
I totally agree
Pretty coastline👏
Just shy of a month before mine comes in super cool bro glad you're still out doing some fun stuff
You will love it. It’s great to pack in an exploring bag cause it’s so small. It’s not bad in the wind either. For what it is it’s well worth the wait Chris
nice shots Jay, thanks..john
Thank you John
Adventures. like-amazing dji!have a good day- ))
You too and thank you
Brings back memories work there in the 70s
Did my basic training there in September 1975
I heard from many comment this airfield was a great airfield back in the day
It certainly was ,great memories were made there@AdventuresWithJay
Hello there! Good to see you. Excellent video, as always. Your country has the best old buildings to explore. Say hello to Siobhan for me. Ive missed seeing you guys, but Im back.
It’s great to hear from you Cindy. I still cherish my Kashina doll it’s sits by my bedside keeping us safe. Welcome back. I have hardly posted anything this last couple of years. I hope your well and your great family. I look forward to your coming videos x
Sad to see it destroyed.
It is especially as it was a grand Georgian house
@@AdventuresWithJay I suppose these are too costly to restore.
I would imagine this would be way over £1.000.000 to restore. The owner was offered 2 million for it a couple of years ago. He refused the money. Last year he was 89 and lived in the caravan on the front. The locals think he maybe in a care home or passed away now
where is this located?
My Uncle Served here as a Mid Upper Gunner in a Lancaster 103SQN July-Oct 1944.
Zdejmij czapkę kiedy jesteś w pałacu. To nie obora.
Do you know the history behind this cottage?
@@dksonogong think the owner went to jail for something but I can’t remember what
its being renovated i think and houses built alongside not too many I hope!
I really did love that home. I have a picture of it in its former glory from long ago. The story to its present day is sad. I hope it again lives
Visiting Holmpton next month, hoping this will be open, its amazing!
@@sharonwells8647 I hope you have a great day
4:35 a huge cannabis grow was found in there by police a few weeks ago
My dad served as a flight engineer at Strubby during WW2. I visited a few years back. ❤
He is a true hero
where is this
Thanks for filming this... I worked here for a short while - great team of Radio Officers here. Shame to see the place like this.. I could visualise the kit and staff in the main control room... happy memories.
There is only a small handful of photos online inside this place but does not give you the layout of the land
I was there in June '84 for basic training. Good times. Then moved onto the Rafreg depot at Catterick. An entirely different experience! 😂
Was it a good station
Memories, was at Binbrook in the 60,s . Tannoys in the blocks for the QRA alarms at 03.00 !!!
Many a sleepless night then
A lovely filming. Non intrusive.Emotional. Augusta Ada Lovelace nee Byron was correct when she visited the restored estate 16 months or so before her death, and wrote to her mother that no Byron could have afforded the work that Lord Byron's friend did--a labor of love and tribute to George Gordon Byron. Thank you for a sensitive and beautiful tour.
Thank you
Here in May 1982. Never fails to amaze me how we excel at destruction in this country now, but fail consistently to create build or inspire any more. The only thing we can build is ugliness and mediocrity! Honour is something that is never considered any more so the idea of a field of honour must seem baffling! Once, Swinderby was a place where young men who loved and cared for the next generation of Englishmen made their last contact with this once beloved island before they flew to their deaths! My Grand Father was lucky, he survived! His sense of betrayal by the subsequent generation that came along was obvious though! I wrote this on you tube once before about my Grand Father, and some body replied “Well, your Grand father was a racist then!” What ever, what ever!!! Ha!
Sadly I think this world has had it. I truly 100 percent believe this is the decline to the end again of this civilisation. Decency and respect are never to return. Only evil and escalation seem to normal now. I’m a 70s lad. My pops was Korean War lance corporal third class. He taught me right from wrong and to respect. These days have gone
300 years! next year! God bless the Grand Lodge of Ireland
I was there last week and climbed in for a look 👍🏼
Did u get deep into the mine
@@AdventuresWithJay sadly no, it was like a swamp in there
My late father served on 142 squadron flying from RAF Grimsby as WOP/AG during WW2
I went there in 1993 and 94 🎉
I use to go there when I was in the Army cadets it was brilliant 👍
I think army cadets is still there
Wow… I’ve just happened across this video after a trip down memory lane, and it has made me incredibly sad. I actually used to work here, and frequently stayed here, back in the early 2000s when Jeremy (the owners son who, after I knew him, ended up spiralling out of control and squatting here) was still in charge of the computer magazine I wrote for. Back then the place was in good repair, and I have many, many happy memories of my time here. I knew that Jeremy had gone off the rails after the magazine was taken away from him, and his marriage broke down (he was always a difficult character), but to see how it all ended is just… it’s so sad to see a building like this, once so glorious, reduced to rubble. I’ve slept in the bedrooms here, worked in the computer labs out the back, partied in what was once the formal ballroom / music room, and played that grand piano. I had no idea that the place had collapsed like this. At least I, and the others who once worked there in happier times, will have the memories from the place before it turned into this mess.
I will be honest it took me a while to get over this house I got an emotional attachment to it and it's story. It's very sad to see a grand house go but not only that to a terrible story.
I used to be in the gliding club in the bardney control tower way back and the guy who owns the medical site you're on was a very unsavoury character. Occasionally we had to fetch the winch cable parachute off his land and was always met by verbal abuse . He hasn't got any better with age so please be careful if you go back, he won't be reasoned with!
go there when they do the taxi runs fantastic
I will one day that’s right up my street John
Thanks for the video, I traced my family tree to this family. Marmaduke Constable was my 17th great gf
I think you get great value for money here and get to see a lot of rooms. I really like the house it feels warm and inviting
I am afraid not ..I was ground radio flight. 📻 😮
Great video. I was stationed till dec88 used to travel from North Cotes to Binbrook did last lock up until raf police used to patrol.
Do u happen to no a Brian Chandler
The artwork is ace.
are these structures still there in 2024?
Yeah they have done nothing with the site yet
@@AdventuresWithJay thank you
The ladder at the end of the air raid shelter is for escape purposes should the entrance become blocked due to enemy action.
👍
Хороший ролик!
Thank you
What a shame to see such a nice old lighthouse just left like that.. thanks for sharing 😊👍
Kirwins are still going, a few merchants have moved to the north quay
Hi love your vids my inlaws live next to the site keep meaning to go have a look i have heard of a underground part of this but cannot find anything on it do u know anything about it xxxxx
I have no idea were it is. It is just listed as being within a 1 mile radius of the base. That bunker had a full stand by set of transmitter and receiver should the main set get bombed or taken out. If you ever find out let me no.
Algernon (naughty ) massingberd .A sad matter that at 16 became baron to fall for his true love daisy (the gardeners daughter of gunby. He was lead to believe she was not of his status . And it is said soon began to get his own back on those guiders to gamble it all away. Hence he was presumed lost beyond the sea,s at 21 ( hmmm
👍
Did you ask about the past history Ghost walk .
There was no free guides it was a busy day
I did not like Binbrook, I think it was because the Married Kennels were so bad!
My uncle was on MT there for a few years
I went yesterday and had a look around quite a few of the accommodation blocks and mess buildings etc and a couple of the houses had a great explore enjoyed your video
I think it’s quite a nice station David. Glad you got round ok
Spider all abandoned Spider 🕷️ like abandoned like inside
When I lived in Lincolnshire I drove by old RAF Kelstern and stopped where the road crosses the remains of the old wartime runway. Most of the land has reverted to agricultural usage but the runway is still visible.
Where is this lighthouse??
