Post edit message haha, I didn't mind the don't laugh challenges or the quiz stuff, I think anything along those lines is great, random beer facts, scull race or while the other person tries to make you laugh... that could get messy but can be funny. You guys just keep having fun, that makes it vicariously fun for us!

@@flyingwombattv your audience appreciates your efforts! It would be interesting if you guys happen to go on a road trip and did a review at a brewery if you passed one, working holidays are tax write offs, yeah? Haha

I liked the effect of the split channels, I love the idea of the stout too, I think a lot of the available black beers are way too astringent, It's not just coffee forward but burned coffee from a coffee franchise that leans into flavoured and novelty coffee's to hide the fact they can't make a good coffee forward haha.
Catching Odin's grin that shows I share his level of maturity at 7:21 haha

Hahaha we are all kids here. When you grow up you realise you are just a child with adult money!
Yeah I totally agree, I love a good roasted coffee stout, but there arnt many stouts that actually go for real dark choc flavour, rather than that long black stale coffee sort of thing

Now I have brewed the beer. It didn't turn out quite like yours. It only came up to 4.8% alcohol, tasted a bit rancid, and didn't have a sustainable head. But maybe it just needs to be stored a little longer.

The challenges that you guys have done are fun to watch! If possible, some bar games like darts or pool sound be fun. Maybe break it down to a trick shot sort of thing that fits into a few minutes. I enjoyed the try not to laugh challenges. You might also try some blind taste tests or add a shot of secret flavor (flavored whisky, vodka, etc) and see if you each can pick out what was in the shot glass that was added to your beers.

Great post guys, really interesting idea to add chocolate to a brew.
I have been thinking after seeing your video about adding some violet crumble or honey comb chocolate to an all in one porter wort kit that I bought last week.
Any advice on how much chocolate to use for a 20L brew?
    Cheers

Absolutely go for it dude! It really did change the profile of the beer, I’d say start with a kilo (2 pounds if you’re American) and you can always scale up from there. If you want check out our recipe in the google doc in the vid description, we used about 2 kilos in a 45 litre batch so I’d say half ours for yours

      @@flyingwombattv awesome thanks guys
I’m an Aussie from the west.
Ill aim for 1kg to start.

Ok so the stout is done.
Did a all in brewing Porter wort kit, added 7 L of water to the 15L wort kit and added 1kg of Honey comb chocolate, used US05 yeast and thats it.
Started off OG 1.062and finished at 1.012
Cold crashed at the end of fermentation and then kegged, there was a shit ton of chocolate in the bottom of the fermenter which was a pain not to get into the keg but oh well.
Turned out really good, now I just need to do an all grain
Definitely on my favourite to do list in the future
      Thanks guys

Your mics are doing weird stuff and putting each of you on separate channels so One is in my left ear and one is in the right ear. Anyway - super exited to try using milk chocolate in my next stout. Looks like you used about 2.5lbs per 5.5gal batch. Great Channel ! Bunnies were harmed in this video ! lol. I'd love to see how it tastes after a few months in the barrel.

The audio was on purpose, I think in the future we’ll keep it mono still not sure if I like the left and right audio channels in this video.
And yeah we are definitely keen to try this in a barrel!

@@flyingwombattv I picked up on the separate sides of the screen. I do appreciate taking the time to have done that! Maybe pan one side a little towards center for headphone users.

Mashing for 90 minutes? Why for? Like realy mates

    • @flyingwombattv
      @flyingwombattv  Рік тому

Mashed for 90 mins for this one because we had HEAPS of specialty malts in there so we knew there was a chance the enzymes might struggle a bit so we just wanted to give them some extra time to do their thing
