- First cutting of hay is done for us in northern IL. We could really use some rain or we won't get much for the next one! Please comment if you have baled hay like this! 4020 sure is nice to drive and we ended up with about 700 bales for our first cutting this year. Thanks!
Great tractor, good baler, nice work... To see three generations on a work is a very beautiful picture. Please tell the men on a trailer cart packing the bales to use working gloves or however you call them. Guys don't cut your hands with the bale's ropes. Greetings from Skopje, Macedonia
Used to bale hay back in the 70's with high school buds. Lot of farmers liked the heavy bales. When I got married in 79, my wife's dad liked them 40 to 50 lbs. He said," you young guys put them in the barn, but I gotta take them out".
On grandpa's farm, it was a 3010 diesel and a 14T bailer. Great memories!😊 Thank you grandpa!

We did a lot of hay back in the day with an AC WD45 and Case 200 baler.

baling hay always a good time. I see that it took your stacking crew awhile to get their "bale legs" alot of time it was just one person on the rackand we stacked 5 or 6 high with aa double row on top and a single row after that

My 4020 is a 1967 model, the 4010 is a 1962model. Both have the scyro range transmissions. I have a round baler. No one is willing to handle small bales!

An excellent video overall but I do have 1 question. With nice fields like that why on earth would you bale hay with a bale chute and flat rack? Here in the Northeast we use kickers on the balers and kicker wagons to harvest the hay? This is a question I have had for a long time and now seems to be the perfect opportunity to get this question answered. Thank you for your time today and another great video for sure.
Well for us we only bale maybe 1000 total each year and don't have any kicker wagons and only have a few animals to feed
@Deandeere4020 I bale anywhere from 1-3,000 bales a year depending on the weather and such. 90% of it I do alone buy I really appreciate your time today and good luck with field work this Fall
