These guys do have it , the roomates have a great doowop sound and fantastic harmonies. Just listen to any of there 6 cd albums and you'll hear some of the best original and some well known doowop songs out there.even dion himself has said the, roomates are a awesome group, say no more
Listen to their recorded material. Try "Joanne." It's killer. This video was them playing around in a hallway for a camera. This is not meant to demonstrate their sound, but rather their love of the music they want to help keep alive.
Great stuff! I grew up listening to this music as a kid during the height of the "70's resurgence" as a result of the movie "Grease". My sister and I had records of the group "Sha na na" and were huge fans of the show "Happy Days". I've always wanted to learn how to sing and be in a group like this....never too late for singing lessons, haha??
MAN! AWESOMENESS! And not to leave out the other guys, cause like I said, it's AWESOMENESS, but Steve's voice is one of my favorites! He has a great range! He can sing pretty low, and also those really, really high notes without using falsetto! The Roomates are great!
here in the States, i think it was the late 70's early 80's, i could be wrong on that, we had a fairly famous doo wop group called sha na na. these guys put them to shame. no music need for their voices ARE the music. acapella is the best
Marina Wang your right.this youtube is scary.how do u know i listen to this stuff? maybe i should keep one computer only for emails, the other for youtube, etc.these guys know everything about me, i am sick of it. welcome to the 21st century!
Nice job. By the way, the term "doo-wop" only came into wide use in the early seventies. Never heard it in the fifties or even during the vocal group resurgence of the early sixties.Thanks.
You guys are terrific. I can feel that good energy coming through.
I would love to see you live.

Brilliant, loved it. Yes the clapping was a little loud, but the singing was spot on. Would like to hear some more stuff from them.
Love it! But snaps are definitely more 50's style..

awesome they sound very similar to the original
You know I actually looked up the original, just too make sure it wasn't them.
U guys are amazing
You guys are great-the guy on the left taking the higher notes. Sheesh, this is an old video.
Great but too much clapping for the halls. It drowns out the harmonies. never the less I loved it
agree
Well done, old dude here!
Spectacular!
Really good!
:) That's a great version a bit faster. Love it x
Masterful!!
very good cover
This wa awesome , re-do without the clapping and it’s great
The clapping helps them....thats the point. Come on, quit complaining.
they could tap their leg or something. something a little less loud. the clapping hurts the song
Nice job. By the way, the term "doo-wop" only came into wide use in the early seventies. Never heard it in the fifties or even during the vocal group resurgence of the early sixties.Thanks.
I heard it first in the late 60s

If you listen carefully, you can hear a voice in the background saying: "Hush! I'm trying to get some sleep."
Bloody heathen .... He should stay awake and listen to the greatest music given to man....doo-wop!
that is your race against the time!
Kick Ass !!!
Please don`t stop.
Incredible but the clapping ruined it
The bass (2nd from right) looks like Bing Crosby
A little different with the clapping but very, very nice
Yes Brian well spotted but it's about the great music from the roomates and not the spelling
the two guys in the middle, their jackets... what are they called?
I'm the 420th like haha!
clapping on the wrong beat...need 2 and 4...oh there it is...on the 2nd verse!!!
What’s the arrangement used here?
Sang a Skyliners song and a Dion and the Belmonts song, both pretty decent.
