a Echo chainsaw is 200$ it's a nice price and can get you cutting down trees, I cut tree for a living, i learn from other tree cutters and i just like watching their videos as entertainment
My 10 year old heard the saw going and said, “Is that Billy Ray”? Then 3 of my kids stood behind me and watched you cut that tree down for 20 minutes. They were fascinated. They really liked the editing as well. Keep it up!
What can I say...it’s great to see people, families that love there job and love to do what they do!! I’m from across the pond in the u.k my dads done tree work all his life it’s in our blood love for these wonderful trees! Great to see old school style just how we like it I’ve been climbing for around 3 years now and learn so much from your content Billy...someone who’s in the real world and know what it actually entails to do this job..no fancy fandangos or bits of paper to say your “qualified” to do this...just a real passion great to see others doing it!!! Every time i watch one of your videos it cheers me up. Like Ray Wiley Hubbard said “ When you keep your Gratitudes Higher than Your Expectations, It Makes For Some Really Good Days”
Was about 70 ft in a tree along side of the river. Couldn't use a boom lift because the water and retainer wall. Tree looked healthy so I went up. Started cutting about about 10ft from the top (it was about an 80 or 90 ft tree) halfway through my cut it kicked back on me because the tree was hollow. I definitely learned a lesson. Treat each tree as a worst case scenario. I could have climbed the extra 5 feet and made a safer cut. Beginner error that I luckily made it out of without harm. Wish I had youtube back in the day (about 15 years ago and my family didnt have computers, and smart phones weren't a thing). Here I am, all those years later, and just now getting back into the business after my time in the military. So glad I found your vids. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and positivity brother!
Thank you Buckin’ for your videos! I watched a bunch of you videos and techniques, had some trees and limbs hanging over my house, took my time, used the “peel” technique for the limbs, using the tree, not a single limb hit the house! My dad was impressed and said “where did you learn to do that?” I said Buckin’ Billy! Thank you and keep up the good work! You are right, be kind to everyone! It will pay off three fold! If you come to East Tennessee let me know. Would love to shake your hand and give you a big old Tennessee hug. Stay safe
i love these kind of films. i have now thumb nailed it so i can click on it any time i feel like. when i was with the forestry commission many years ago i love getting up into the canopy and just knockin it out bit by bit. miss those days so bad. miss workin with the crew as in my mates on the crew. thanks again buckin for bringing back memories of old yet good times since gone....
Played this for my kids. They didn't blink the whole video. You sir are a master of your craft and a great teacher. You can see every cut and drop before it happens. Seems like felling trees is like a chess game. Much respect from the Northeast.
You Know Buckin’ your a true Artist!! Such a natural at that tree cutting!! You surly show your years of experience! Thanks for my Buckin”Billy Fix.....
I appreciate your.videos. I’ve been climbing trees for almost a year now and your videos have really helped me out. From climbing to making that perfect face cut and most importantly how to be brave when you need to. I will always watch these videos
Haven't been able to watch or comment in a while, awesome to see you helping another out and give guidance in the trees. Too many people with big egos wanting to talk down on people that aren't as experienced or knowledgeable, makes them not even want to try. As always nothing but positive attitude and a real passion for the craft and helping others in any way possible. Hope one day I can meet you and introduce you to my boy!!! He loves tree work, but where we live I hope he picks up on something else for a living when he is older. Have a great night everyone and stay safe!!!!
Arkansas wood cutter here. We cut hard wood and pine. Interesting observation: If you had been climbing and cutting where I live - there would have been quite the audience. It is amazing to me that folks in your world do not think 120 feet up in a tree is a big deal. Beautiful work and thank you for the kindness and love. I'm drawn to goodness. Kindness and love are a language that needs no translation.

It was a big encouragement to this 70-year-old to see you fall backwards. I've done that several times over the past few months. I'm trying to do a better job of clearing away junk where I'm bucking, but sometimes I get into too much enthusiasm.
Balance is also affected by hearing problems. That tends to increase with age. Otherwise, I don't think it is automatic. I've started doing some balancing exercises to avoid problems later.

That was a lot of fun hanging out with you and Victor! Nice climbing the both of you! That shot of Buckin coiling rope and Victor tipping one off was my favorite. Be well all 👍👊🏼❤️

Nice job fellas :) I see the torque of the mighty McCulloch finally made you fall on your A$$...Haha!! But then again...you're not the only one...took an involuntarily head dive in the ocean today. Helped a buddy launch his boat..as the boat came off the trailer, the wire on his winch broke, the boat came rushing towards me and I had no other choice but take a really, really cold swim...pretty fresh I have to say :)
George...luckily it happened just a short distance from our house, so it only took me a couple of minutes to walk home for a change of clothes..but man I'll tell ya, it was freakishly cold..Haha!
Great video and camera work! Ole Victor is sure gonna be an awesome climber/arborist real soon. I know he already is but his list of perfected skills just keeps getting longer. He is sure lucky to have you for a mentor/buddy! Thanks for sharing...
I've had the same Barber for the last 23 years. There has never been a wait...even if I decide to cut my hair at 3:00 AM. My Barbers name is "FLOWBEE." The cost of all the haircuts over the last 23 years has been $109.00. Best thing I ever purchased. I also have two children who have never been to a Barber shop, ages 14 & 20. What a great value for $109.00.
Sometimes the old curved blade silky sugoi does not do good job on the back cut topping, tends to leave the hinge thick at the center & all cut away towards the outsides, then the top can fell bit sideways. Got me a smaller straight blade silky just for topping & finer pruning, seems to work quite well.
I like watching you and Victor working together. You should both be taking a 1" thick slice of one tree you cut down on a job, and write the date, location, and who you were with when you did the job with sharpie marker. A nice memory keepsake for your old age, that your grandkids can ask you about.
Now you're into my territory ....Hair !! Im working out of my house as well. Best move I ever made. Good on you Bev...Only thing is she should be showing Buckin Billy Ray vids on that tube at the salon ...hahahaha Awesome video brother ! ♥️🇨🇦👍
Buckin, back about a year and half ago or maybe more this was your first video I'd ever watched. I kept seeing it pop up and wondered why the hell do they keep recommending this fella climbin trees? Awesome vids man! I’ve been pouring through em. I’m picking up some cool tips that I’ve been incorporating. Gettin the gullet, simple cutting and rigging techniques...I love it! Thanks a lot brother
All part of the job, tree service and logging are both very dangerous, but only as dangerous as you make em, buckin knows his stuff friends be kind folks
My friend, wish that more ppl could act the way yah do.. very genuine and kind. Your videos are amazing to watch man partly because of what you do but your personality is super rad.. keep up the good work man, you look like you enjoy it.
Adam Gretzinger honestly I got to use one of those 540s and the thing absolutely dominated,I don't know for longetivity but that thing was like having a lightsaber
Cameron Crane I've had it for a couple years granted not daily usage but it's been awesome I will absolutely buy husky over stihl after my experience with my 540. I've had an ms362 since they launched and loved that but dayum my buddy bought a husky 372 I believe it is, and it's plain faster. It's with in 3 cc's it's just a better saw in my opinion.
Adam Gretzinger after my dealings with stihl I like husqvarna products better and their people better. I've talked with people at stihl about their warranties and products on 94r's and 91r's and 130r and kombi 130 and they've pretty much pissed me off every answer so that's the entire reason I switched to husqvarna and dabbled with a few stihls since but will not buy them again, plus more and more cheap Chinese parts and cut corners etc etc
Hi Bev! Love your attention to detail, Buckin’. If that neighbor had a leaf blower, you were going to offer to clean up for her. Good on ya. Hey Vic!!! Great work on that job yourself there! Good show!
This is the first video I saw of yours a couple years ago. Since then I have watched many of your videos and enjoy them all. This one is by far my favorite and it looks like such a beautiful day out. Thanks for the content!
Glad you made him go higher 😂 you know there’s going to be a lot of young Billy’s out there that are going to cut one handed aye and only the experienced ones who know when to grab that top handle know when the saws going to cut something foreign.. Just saying
"tough enough job as it is so you might as well think of the little ways to make your life easier" BBR '18.............. perfect and timeless. I was just talking yesterday about how much easier the kids have it now with all the equipment than we had it in the 80's, moving and lifting everything by hand. Saying these kids have never even seen hard work. But then think ing about the old times before the chainsaw, when crosscut saws were used to fall trees. Those guys must have thought the same about us.
I have never cut down a tree in my life but yet I’m addicted to your videos.
yer missin' out bud
You should go try it. I mean, learn to be safe, but then go try it. There's nothing else like it.
Just moved to a farm in ky. Got me a little 16" compact husq. It's a thrill as a beginner. Watching him not tied off freaks me out
I take em down with a front loader much funner

It's great that you took some time to coach your teammate. We all need some advice when we're young and new to this crazy career !
If I ever die and my son is still young, I want you to take care of him. Show him this lifestyle!
Do they use the large face cut for these to shift the hinge back, in an effort to reduce how far the stick moves outward from the trunk as it falls?

Awesome vids man! I’ve been pouring through em. I’m picking up some cool tips that I’ve been incorporating. Gettin the gullet, simple cutting and rigging techniques...I love it! Thanks a lot brother
Man my knees get weak Everytime you look down and I'm not even in the tree. ..lol
Me too!
All part of the job, tree service and logging are both very dangerous, but only as dangerous as you make em, buckin knows his stuff friends be kind folks
My friend, wish that more ppl could act the way yah do.. very genuine and kind. Your videos are amazing to watch man partly because of what you do but your personality is super rad.. keep up the good work man, you look like you enjoy it.
hey buckin' is that marine grade mix or what?
That's awesome Buckin. Victor's Big Tree Show he he I Love It.🌲❤🌲
That little echo seems to be struggling compared to the stihl Vic! Think it’s time to give it a visit to Bobby walker! Haha
Amoreau14 cant beat em 200's
i got an old echo top handle cs-3000 and its like a 4 stoke all most its funny but it chugs along great, but nothing compared to my husky 540xp
Good show!

Really good 1buddy I really like 1like this 1 good job
Hey Buckin, I'm a tree guy too. I got to say, I really enjoy you. You have an open invitation to Michigan anytime.
