It feels like the biggest problem with the consult thing is that, since they aren’t full on BHVR employees, they can only consult on whatever BHVR decides to tell them about. They aren’t around for the entire idea/development process, they’re forced to just sit and wait for an email with whatever BHVR decided they need consultation on, which sort of defeats the point. The reason BHVR needs the consults is because, being developers who don’t play the game as much, they don’t have the best judgement of how certain changes will affect the game. If you run everything past the consults that will eliminate that problem, but instead they’re just using their judgment to try to figure out what they think their judgement isn’t good enough for.

Now the cat´s out of the bag and those "consultants" became public knowledge... With how misunderstood was Fog Whisperer program in the community and even among some of its more passionate members who actually tried to make a difference, it also rendered an entire program useless. (It technically was always useless, it just wasn´t obvious to many.) So many of them are not even bigger scale streamers, so the actual "promotion" rests on the shoulders of the biggest few. And we can safely bet that most of the community is not capable of naming more than two biggest fog whisperers anyway (those they would know even if they weren't part of it). I know I can barely come up with 3 names in total, and the rest are just kind of there, like a useless figurine whose only purpose is to look good for a very small niche or create a typical positive corporate background facade. Quite a promotion that is. The way I see it, some fog whisperers were actually passionate and attempted to push further beyond this sorry role and try to make a difference. What did they get for that? Ignorance from one side, hate or blame from the other. Sure they were naive if they thought, that BHVR would actually care about that. It was after all proven many times, that this is just a corporate facade with no real effect on anything. And the narcissistic attitude of "we took time to make this bad idea so now you are stuck with it in some form" is the only thing that matters most of the time. Spooky did a good thing he noped out, now that parts of that facade fell off. But so are naive those people who think that these consultants will make a difference. They didn´t make it in the past, and will not make any in the future. They are ignored just as fog whisperers. So, time to ask ourselves the nasty question of what are these consultants really? Nothing but a public scapegoat for our deranged community that has its brain rotten with us vs them beyond belief. It was a smart decision from BHVR to make them public because now these people will be getting part of that hate because from now on, there will always be the public unspoken question in the air: "How could consultants think it is okay?"
Consultants are simply play testers with a fancy title. BHVR doesn’t need them to check their ideas, they just need them to test what they’re trying to implement anyways. They’re literally just play testers
This is a well argued video; consultants COULD do a lot of good for the game, but with BHVR's track record and the little we know about the role, it's unclear it ever will. BHVR absolutely do spend way too much time and resources pursuing poorly thought out and sometimes downright baffling changes. There will always be things that slip by, a bad patch here or there, but they should be working to improve their internal processes and preventing bad ideas from getting so far along in development. No matter how hard you polish a turd, it'll still be shit.
My problem with the Fog Whisperer program is that most of the creators I regularly watch are not in it. The people I most resonate with have either left or been kicked out for the most part. In turn it makes me feel alienated and unwanted by BHVR. I've never seen another game treat their partner program with so much exclusivity and drama. Contrast this to other online games I play. For Sea of Thieves everyone I follow is in their partner program. For Warframe all but one is, and he made it clear he chose not to join - and yes, Warframe rebooted their program once, but they did it with grace and professionalism. I’ve never seen a game developer so bad at developing their own game, that they have to try gaslighting their community into thinking they listen to them.
Is it just me or are all the new consults for the game just popular killer players like Hens, LilithOmen, and OhTofu. Nothing against them I love all their content and the ways that they play that game but where is the survivor mains input in this?
Hens for example is playing both sides a lot. This just sounds like typical us vs them brainrot. Besides, these consultants are mostly being ignored anyway as it turned out.
Nah there was one pretty unknown person becoming a consultant and legit several self-proclaimed "creators" and "competitive" players called started dissing them over how someone without youtube or twitch could even become a consultant. They even seemed upset about that the consultant in question "only follows 6 'creators' on twitter" and wasn't on the discord. So yeah many of these so-called "creators" seem to see themselves above the rest. Several "who even are you?" salt posts.
thats the issue with BHVR if you represent the community then u say positive things u stay but the moment u say sth bad but its the truth they kick you out epic devs cant take criticism
They are now putting people on payroll to suggest good changes to the game, and they DIDNT choose you for it, when you have notable weight in the DBD content creation community and have been providing consistently good feedback, discussions, and suggestions for years for free... I hope whoever they did choose at least watches your content :/
Nobody ever says NO to them or they dont listen. When gunslinger came out I was talking to a killer main and he pointed to my main point. Design killers around chasing survivors. Not some bs power. Not around three gening survivors which i had with demo dog the other day. arrange maps so can movability and a chance along with a pallet generator based on the killer.
@@ScottJund They would of course never claim that out loud. But just look how much unnecessary hate certain fog whisperers got the moment they actually tried to push and help with their insight to make the game better. Was it because they actually made an impact? No, it was because the community THOUGHT they had some influence. And that was enough to scapegoat them. No one needs actual evidence for that. Thinking that it would not happen again, now that it became a public knowledge feels a bit innocently naive.

If he was a consultant at that time he wouldn't have been consulted until AFTER BHVR "shot" someone in your example, which makes the program SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE than what you are claiming.
Yeah? What do you think I meant when i said "how to make it better"
@@ScottJund Oh I agree 1 million percent man, I'm just like completely blown away that they don't do what you say and they seem to be doing EVEN less, you know.
Hey, Scott! We've heard you, and we do agree that the current consultant system might not be in the best interests of the community. Sadly, as you are not a part of the consultant program, we do not care.
Happy killing,
Behavior.
BHVR: We gonna nerf pig
Fog whisperers: yea boi 🤘
You made true lose his fog whisperer
if you told me in 2017 that this game would have consultants, i would have went back to minecraft sooner
We all know that they won't do much with it sadly
This does not make me jump up for joy considering that Dowsey was a consultant for DBD for years and ultimately one of the reasons he quit was due to them not listening about The Twins and The Trickster feedback.
scott wants a company to hire more people to ease the workload of its current employees💀
If it’s the community I can already say goodbuy to half my main goodbye LMFSO
Scott...did BHVR threaten you, are you trying to tell us smth here?🤣🤣
I'm not sure someone with 50 hours has any idea what a "twins" is
I think Behaviour doesn't really know what to do nowadays, they have lost a lot of their touch in the community, patch notes and data to see what needs buffing and nerfing, just look at the twins and the Perk meta. To me it just feels like behaviour is just once the dollar dollar bill y'all, if you don't believe me just look how many skins they are pumping out.
I phased out for a moment, came back to the video and saw Scott drawing a gun... classic American behaviour smh
Remember when Scott’s wife got that one guy taken off the fog whisperer program
Yeah I remember when my wife was a dev and controlled stuff like that good times
@@ScottJund Why even bother giving such a nonresponse? It's obvious that you both played a huge part in making it happen, I wouldn't even be surprised if it wasn't because of the slander but the fact that there was so much negativity floating around him thanks to you guys.
I’ve never seen a game developer so bad at developing their own game, that they have to try gaslighting their community into thinking they listen to them.
if you dont get in this programm it shows they have no idea what they are doing
Is it just me or are all the new consults for the game just popular killer players like Hens, LilithOmen, and OhTofu. Nothing against them I love all their content and the ways that they play that game but where is the survivor mains input in this?
There is no survivor mains because they want to make the game better not worse :p
I see hens play a lot of survivor nowadays tbh, see him as survivor in tournaments too.
Hens for example is playing both sides a lot. This just sounds like typical us vs them brainrot.
Besides, these consultants are mostly being ignored anyway as it turned out.
all surv biased aF!
They should buff Freddy
Was with you until the end with the jank chart or graph or whatever that was, you lost me there 😂
thats the issue with BHVR if you represent the community then u say positive things u stay but the moment u say sth bad but its the truth they kick you out epic devs cant take criticism
Here before any npc comments dead by daylight
So basically we learn from this video that Scott knows very little about guns
They are now putting people on payroll to suggest good changes to the game, and they DIDNT choose you for it, when you have notable weight in the DBD content creation community and have been providing consistently good feedback, discussions, and suggestions for years for free...
I hope whoever they did choose at least watches your content :/
Oh nice I didn’t know Scott has a wife
Most american way to make your point 💀
this video is just Scott bitching that he isn't a fog whisperer there you go I summed it up and now neither of us have to watch it 👍
Hi Scott, me here
You had me with the analogy, you lost me at faith in Bhvr.
Cool, new team for them to not listen to👍
Is that what americans are used to use as an example
Stay mad they're superior to you.
@@thedoomslayer5863 there's no way you thought I was serious with this, really no way
@@indeboss They still are whether u were joking or not.
hello scott
Scott wtf was that example, lmfao.
Americans trying to explain everything:
if it were european it would be "we want migrants to invade our country how do we do that"
Arent this consultans just game testers ?
Bro you expecting too much. Consultant is a cover to just pass blame when balance is ass
i highly doubt they'll do that as not a single person would believe them and they'd just be shooting themselves in the foot
Scott has a wife?
