Today I share my review of the brilliant Focal Bathys Headphones. These are in my opinion the nicest bluetooth wireless noise canceling headphones you can buy today. The sound quality is sublime and bests others I have tested from Bose, Sony, Mark Levinson and even B&W.
The Noise Canceling surprised me in the mower test I do in this video when they went against the Bose 700 who are leaders in NC headphones!

You never mentioned-for those of us who are less knowledgeable about the audiophile industry-if you can use them to make calls on cellular phones and how well they work for that. Thank you, though.
I have inner ear problems at the moment mainly with pressurisation and can't use my Shure SE846's IEM's (with Snuggs custom molded for my ears) paired with an A&K SE100 DAP.
I ended up buying the Bathys and can wear them without any issues/discomfort for extended periods. Love them!
The fact they just happen to sound amazing is a very appreciated bonus given my issues. So happy to be listening to music again when I'm out and about without having to give up on quality sound.
That is *exactly* the problem I'm facing. Having real problems with IEMs. I just can't use my SE846's and there's no point getting 64 audio or Empire as it would likely be the same problem. Is the sound quality decent on these compared to the Shure? I was contemplating the 5909's.
I just picked up a pair of the FOCAL Bathy’s and they are fantastic … was wondering if you are able to remove the ear pads for replacement purposes and as well what would be an acceptable Bluetooth Dac or Dap to purchase to go with the Bathy’s?

Nice review! And refreshing to hear someone pronounce it without sounding as though trying too hard to sound French but achieves quite the opposite effect 😂. Just shows you don’t ride the mainstream audio reviewer hype train. 👍👍
Love what you do so inspiring and have purchased many products thanks to you. . I have just purchased these headphones and I love them, I cancelled the order of bowers and Wilkins px8 for these.

I am on the Spectrum (Autistic) I suffer from over-sensitivity when it comes to various sounds.
I am looking for the kind of headphones that block out real world sounds.
Are the Focal bathys the ones I should get. Will I be immersed and not hear outside distractions?
And since these are Bluetooth. They should work with my desktop computer correct?
If there are better options I'd be interested in wondering what they may be.
Do you think these would be perfect for someone with Autism who is sensitive to outside sounds?
you dont need an external DAC it has on board DAC
Have you heard of the status 3anc's? Very affordable and I think they sound great. Especially for hip hop.
Not a fair comparison, but how would the apple AirPods Pro 2 stack up to these for casual/occasional listening? Obviously for focused/critical listening I assume the Bathys are a clear winner, but wondering if the AirPods are 80-90%, relatively

Every noise cancelling headphone I've heard sounds thin, anemic and shouty. These look great but in all honesty I feel more comfortable spending twice as much on some ciems instead.

They are not tiny, you can see the size in my hand, next to the Bose and on me as well, Debby is very small : )
I was thinking about getting this headset but I listen to Spotify I didn't know how much different it would sound then say the Sony WH1000XM3
A lot different, the drivers in the headphones and the tuning matters. With the Focals you will still hear details in the music you havent heard before, if you dont care about this stuff then it does not matter youll still enjoy music through the Sonys
Dude, its like day and night... The dynamics, the detail, the bass... I miss them so much

Full time ANC/DSP, no thank you. It's cover up for poor speaker in cup design. Lint collector on underside of headband and dirt collecting holes at outer cups for a portable headphone is a poor decision. No pause function when headphone removed from ears. Looks like a kid's toy with the bulky design and blinking lights. I know you can turn it off, but how much did that nonsense cost. No passive mode at all. You can NOT use an MQA DAC for Tidal users and full time ANC/DSP does not allow for full provenance to pass through. You will get a lesser quality than the external DAC full capability. (I want ANC for travel only and my MQA DAC at hotel. A no go at this price in unacceptable). These should be in the under $400 category. B&W Px8 and Mark Levinson are real feature filled high end headphones in direct comparison. I love their speakers and some of their headphones, but these are not worth $799.

The fact that you mentioned wanting MQA (extremely lossy) and then mentioned B&W PX8 as an actual comparison with it’s TERRIFYING FR Chart basically makes almost any point you made in this null. It’s a headphone. It’s sounds absolutely incredible and has a similar signature to the Radiance which is one of the best closed back wired Jodi headphones in the world. You really think I care if it’s got a light?
