- We're back with Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four! In this video: we discover how Franklin Richards changed from a seemingly ordinary child, into a being equal to a GOD! This is a story about the adventures of Franklin and Leech, to be read like a children's story, in which Franklin learns his true calling and is trained with the goal to fix everything.
▸ What is The Fantastic Four: The Fantastic Four is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The team debuted in The Fantastic Four #1 (cover dated Nov. 1961), helping usher in a new level of realism in the medium. It was the first superhero team created by artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby and editor/co-plotter Stan Lee, who developed a collaborative approach to creating comics with this title. The four characters traditionally associated with the Fantastic Four, who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space, are Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards), a scientific genius and the leader of the group, who can stretch his body into incredible lengths and shapes; the Invisible Woman (Susan "Sue" Storm), who eventually married Reed, who can render herself invisible and project powerful invisible force fields and blasts; the Human Torch (Johnny Storm), Sue's younger brother, who can generate flames, surround himself with them and fly; and the monstrous Thing (Ben Grimm), their grumpy but benevolent friend, a former college football star, Reed's college roommate and a good pilot, who possesses tremendous superhuman strength, durability, and endurance due to his stone-like flesh.

I feel like audio comic books are extremely underrated and the things that comicexplained and others like it are doing are vital because there are a lot of people now adays that won't even pick up a book. heros help find a moral standing in this crazy world we HAVE to call normal
Agreed whether it's not having enough time to read, don't want to read or not having them available in your country
I feel like with fans like jabba the rob people think comic book fans are all fat slobs tbh
Audio comic book explanation
i would have never got into marvel comics if it wasnt for this channel explaining everything so colorfully. Im working my way through Hickmans run and its one of the best narratives ive ever experienced in all of media. Thank you @Comics Explained
Franklin Richards is on a celestial level that is beyond Omega level Mutant level.
Let me tell ya something….Best Comics page on UA-cam
Rob got be back into comics back in 15
Big facts
No 🤬 tell us something we don't know...
😆 I'm just messin with ya, of course he is the best!
Son son son, let me tell you something.
@@DeathBYDesign666 See, the thing going on here, I came here to do an original comment like this post. Saw it, and clicked to expand to see if someone had done a "son, son" joke. So we do get a mutual-respect post and me attempting to do these tertiary quotes.
1:13 - Lil' Franklin looked hella high.
Hey Rob, can you explain:
Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics)
Franklin Richards is a Dungeon Master.
i thought it was established that he wasn't a mutant that's why he had to leave krakoa
Let's make not calling superheroes "God's". Franklin is far from a god and there are other mutants that are arguably more powerful.
I think he means more on the level of a "creator god" since Franklin has been the only character shown to consistently be creating universes and not destroying them (like the Marquis of Death, etc). It's also the ease of doing it for Franklin. It's no more effort for him than making a ham sandwich at some points, where they're just putting pieces of Owen in them and chucking them into the void as new universes.
"Marvel's God Mutant".
"Mutant"
Dan Slott rips open wall: "Are you sure about that?"
🤦♂️
He is the best no argument here, but the only ones that have any chance of Competing with him are the ones that do the voice over, those are amazing too. The time and effort he puts into these is just unmatched...
@ImJustDaniel
great voice overs
I mean, it's a meta commentary on the ability of writers and encouraging younger writers to practice their craft. Sometimes kids have more imagination than grown-ups, and lose that ability to conjure new things as other things start to take up that space.
very probable. that's why adult franklin has never become as powerfull as his younger self...
I just wanna say your videos have helped me get through depression recently, thank you so much it’s some of the things you say that makes me feel like everything is gonna be okay
So Franklin and Kang both try to travel back in time to help their younger selves. With vastly different outcomes.
I really hope they introduce Franklin into the MCU and say he's from earth 838 where wanda wiped out the illuminati!
We know he and his sister val exist and Franklin being a omega level mutant he definitely wants revenge
REALLY hoping he goes after Wanda and kills her or something😅
*beyond omega
If they introduce him into the MCU, it would make sense to have him reboot the entire universe. So then we’d start the Avengers saga all over again. But with younger and different actors.
@@blaxpoitation8528 that would totally suck
@@kylepetersen4625 Nah it wouldn’t
It pleases me that they're giving Franky some shine. Been a while since he's been a focal point.
This story is old
Franklin’s face is my new sleep paralysis demon
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Right? I dont think I can handle the artwork in that comic. I am usually okay with "sketchy" artwork, but in a published comic it just gets too distracting for me.
@@mrdrock I've seen a lot of terrible artwork in comics and some that are just disproportionate it's a joke that it was even published in the first place. They really hire some goofy artists there's a terrible one for Wolverine if you know the one I'm talking about, it's like his face shrunk.
Imagine paying someone to draw and they do this
When characters start shaping their existence from adult self to child self with O.P. involved and the actual scope of the story is a sesame street level of a final product it is best left on the cutting room floor. Marvel needs to tell actual stories with stakes and arcs not the typical snorefest of hyping an event level comic just to stuff everything at the end
Beyond Omega Level: Omega Spawn (Spawn Universe) (at his Peak he was nearly as powerfull as Satan)
I thought spawn got much stronger, God spawn was more than God and Satan,
Rivaling the "man of miracles"
Or am I misremembering
Wasn’t it stated that he was stronger than satan and god as omega spawn and divine spawn?
@@Spoopball Yes but Omega Spawn isn’t divine Spawn
Can you do a video on Lilith. Marvel Midnight's main antagonist?
Wasn't Franklin's first universe in the Heroes Reborn? My timeline is a bit off so I could be wrong
Has Hyperstorm even been seen since the 90’s? The last time that I saw/read about him, Galactus was feeding off of him. Galactus has obviously come back and been seen since , but has Hyperstorm? He was DEFINITELY a product of the 90’s!
Oh you mean mr please nerf me, yea its been a bit
Can we please get....
Grim Reaper explained
Rob Jefferson explained videos please 🙏🏾(not giving up)
.....Rob Corps I need your help like Lord Schnitzel
Yeah this isn't the first time Franklin Richards is made a universe he did it back during Heroes Reborn he kept it in the little blue ball we may have done it again but he's done so many crazy things I can't remember every time he's going to create a universe or something like that
Im really loving this one. Can't wait for next week. Only thing that bothers me is how they drew Franklin. Kid looks weird 😂
I don't get Franklin Richards at all. Mainly because like, when I researched him and it was like he was not a mutant, he just had powers, but he then it said that he like... Inadvertently gave himself the mutant-gene, like he just thought about that, and then unknowingly his powers like, rewrote his DNA or something like that so that he has the mutant-gene.
It is just so confusing to me.
This is the power of reality warping. When you have a character on Franklin's level of power, whatever he wills to happen becomes reality, regardless of how nonsensical or silly it sounds. If he wanted down to be up, he could make that happen on a universal scale. He could say "now everyone can fly" and everyone would be able to fly. It's nuts, but that's what he does.
Character Explained: Hero Zero (Dark Horse Comics)
Character Explained: Aztek (DC Comics)
Franklin Richard’s could’ve just created a world for all the mutants to live in peacefully
Let me tell ya somethin!
Franklin Richards is on his own level of badassness!! My unborn son will be named after him lol
You're the best Rob.
yes i am thank you for noticing.
Looking forward to this since last Thursday. Love this story too much. You could remaster it 10 times and I'd keep watching.
Please do a DC top 20 most powerful characters hierarchy!
Story sucks.
Franklin has been a kid for 40 years.
Leech has been a kid forever.
Marvel needs to tell good stories and move people forward
Aunt May should have passed in the 80s. Etc....
I love how all paths lead to Hickmans ff4 run.
Franklin aka the monster, not a lot of average fictional characters can beat him 🤷🏽♂️
Wow this art is hard to look at.
6:27 wtf are those FACES??!?!!
Brightburn Request👿Beyond Omega Level:Kulan Gath!

Omega level idea: Unwritten Leviathan
Definitely OP
YES
Hey Rob, could you do a video about DC Comic timeline? I've watched many of your videos, but I'm confused about the order of the sagas
I don't blame you, man. Comics are so convoluted, especially nowadays.
I’m confused, I didn’t think Franklin was still considered a mutant anymore.
He currently isn’t but at the time of this story he was so the title makes sense for covering the story. Plus Slott was the one who changed that and also had Franklin depowered, in Slotts final FF storyline he reset Franklin to having powers again so realistically a new writer can just as easily make Franklin a mutant again if they wanted to in the future
He is not
In theory the child of Adam Brashear and Monica Rambeau should be more powerful than Franklin Richards if you look at the power level of their parents
I would have to agree with you
Hya Rob, there's at least Magneto, Bucky and Nick Fury from earth 616 who each says they killed Adolf Hitler, and am sure there's more. I think it would interesting to make a video about who killed Hitler in Marvel comics.
That is one of the ugliest comics ive seen.
Too bad Franklin couldn't fix that horrible art.
Omg I’m way too early
Mathew Malloy, Scarlet Witch, there is a long list of people as strong or stronger than Franklin Richards.
Wheres mathew malloy? And which universe he comes from?
@You're under 19 don't argue As far as I am aware, Franklin only affects on universe at a time. Franklin can step out a universe, but that is not very impressive. Wanda affected every universe in the endless multiverse. Jean Grey without the Phoenix Force was never in this conversation, and I don't expect you to know that because I said "...long list of people...". Onslaught counts, I am not limiting myself to only mutants. This is open territory, and a lot of people can bully/challenge/push Franklin.
Hi Rob. Please could you cover Taegukgi? I read he's considered to be on par with Blue Marvel, Sentry etc.
This isn't the FIRST time that Franklin Richards created a universe.
Once I seen this man resurrected Galactus and made him HIS herald I knew that Franklin wasn't someone to f*ck with
Marvel needs to retcon Dan Slott's retcon of depowering him and being a "mutant". Franklin has been sitting on the sidelines for far too long.
Franklin suffers from the Superman complex - the idea that he's so powerful that it's hard to make interesting stories about him. He essentially has no weaknesses, more so than even Superman. It's why they had to make up reasons for him to not be around during big events, because he would trivialize them all. Kree Armada shows up to earth? Franklin could just will them out of existence. Galactus threatening to eat earth? Franklin could just tell him "No" and he'd have to go away. Universe is imploding? Franklin can just make another one.
He's such a cool character, but his powers are so strong that you can't really tell interesting stories about him without nerfing his power down somehow.
I got goosebumps watching this video!
Leech is a young Shoto Aizawa from My Hero Academia.
Where the blap is POWER PACK?!?
that is a great family friendly, kids property, if handled properly can be awesomeness!!!
I never understood why they didn’t just get Leech for House Of M. He could have negated Wanda’s powers when she was freaking out and the Avengers and the X-Men were fighting over whether to kill her or not. I mean, I know WHY the writers didn’t, because there wouldn’t have been a story! But the fact that none of the characters even threw that out -
What is Leech's power?
@@JJDK485 Leech's power is to shut down all the powers of anyone he touches. So if he touched Wanda, no more reality warping.
@@JJDK485 - He can basically negate and cancel any mutants powers.
You're forgetting one crucial piece of information, Wanda can also do the same thing and shut off his power. The difference between them is that Leech has a limited amount of distance for using his power, whereas, Wanda doesn't have this limitation. So Wanda could shut off his ability before he even got into range of using his.
@@shawn092182 - Is that true? I thought that Leech could just screw with any mutant’s powers. I remember he was around to negate Franklin Richards when his powers were coming back (This was during the Hickman run.).
There’s a muthafuggin Transformers movie coming in 2023 and I’m stoked
I know. I know. Random
wait, why's the title start with "Franklin Richard's"? Is the apostrophe a typo or is there some explanation in the video itself
Wtf is this... Mr.Fantastic didn't have powers when he was young.. it was only when they were affected by .. some kind of beam when they went to space.
But franklyn is No Mutant he Just used His reality warping Powers to give himself a Mutant Gene so He can be Part of the Mutant Community (i dont Like this redcon....)
Hmm. Catching up on either FF aside, the timing of these has me wondering. This being from Hickman's run on Fantastic Four/Future Foundation, but it almost seems to be commentary on something from Hickman's other run with the X-Men, at least in terms of how "nerfed" Franklin became. So let's look at that.
What it boiled down to was that Krakoa's founders (and Xavier mainly) just did NOT want precognitives of any sort spoiling their control of the truth. Be it Destiny, Franklin Richards, whoever, seeing the future was declared off-limits largely for political/state secrets reasons, with similar lies being crafted and hostilities directed at the Fantastic Four seemingly out of nowhere (one of the weakest parts of that run). Basically people were so scared of seeing the Visions of MacTaggert disputed that a whole sector of mutants were just shut out.
And the timing of that is unfortunate. Because any day now, Franklin Richards is going to be *That Bitch.* He's going to be a mutant teenager with ALL of the nastiness that implies. I mean, even if we half-nerf him and walk him back from Omega-Level Godhood, what does this make him capable of? Well, it means he creates very complete Reality Warping fields, on a par with Proteus, without the metabolic drain on his life Proteus suffered. And it means Franklin can see the future.
And what he's seen of the present is that his people, the mutants who were once his friends, have ALL disowned him and lobotomized his dad and maybe worse things. Is this a villain origin or what? Even without god-tier ability, Bitter Teenaged Franklin Richards might be the biggest pain in the ass post-Krakoan X-Men have ever faced. :)
Edit: And yes, including Celestials, because those OP "God Robots" are just predictable. You can guess what a Celestial's agenda is if you know about them, you can know what it is if you have an Eternal on your side. But Franklin? Who even knows what he could cough up in a mood.
Is Franklin Richards more powerful than the Phoenix?
It's bathtime for Gotham, it's bathtime for evil! Lol Franklin created batman
Did he make the closet big enough for a universe....or the universe small enough to fit the closet? Hmmm...
If I'm not mistaken, only Jean Grey as WPOTC has done something like that? Pretty epic
Universe!? I don't think the writer or the pencil guy's knows what universe is, because that picture is a tiny galaxy, not universe.
So my question is, is Franklin Richards actually the one above all in the main marvel universe
One above all is Stan Lee my dude
@@darioja2469 well no, the one above all is Jack Kirby that’s who the fantastic four met when they met God, but I’m wondering if they’re going to change that in the future
Wow! I’m first (to comment)?!
Let’s go!
We appreciate u Rob and crew!
Franklin Richards vs Legion (son of Mr. Fantastic vs. son of Professor X) who wins?
I much prefer Franklin as the top Omega instead of Legion.
I’ve you ever listened to history hyenas, FF stands for something completely different
Bruh, WHAT was going on with the at in this book?!? 😂 Franklin looks like a little blonde neanderthal!
Franklin is lucky that the one below all scenario likely won’t play out with the Incredible Hulk.
i hope that clears up any strange misunderstandings, i just took a look at the facial similarities and the skittishness of my mother and equated an answer off of the back of it.
This is why Anime and Manga are killing sales while the US comics are absolute trash in sales.
Beat you and then comicstorioan ya have for a decade now killed it you comicstorioan a few other need universal recognition
Some of the drawings of Franklin look like he's a caveman
That art... that's some phenomenally awful art.
Lol is there gonna be a part 2 later on or something because this half of the length of even your normal vids.
Legion is God mutant. Franklin is not a mutant. 😅😅😅
I can see you now honey you can’t wear that to school OK mom let me go to my closet of infinite space I mean regular closet
Beyond omega level; icon from dc
Whoa whoa whoa.
'Mutate God'
Don't need an incident with the nation of Krakoa.
Is this issue drawn by Farel Darymple?
Rob just creating the best version of Rob. Just like Franklin.
Baron Mordo explained please!
Can You imagine Franklin Richards and Clark Dreiberg (The Kid Dr Manhattan transferred his power to) on a play date.
Beyond Omega Level: Rob’s Hype
The art in this comics is horrible!? Who drew this?
Do Franklin and Leech come out of the closet in this one?
Leech will eff up any hand you have in Marvel Snap
Beyond omega level… hyperstorm!
WOW this part's art looks like garbage.
Valeria Richards >>> Franklin Richards
That art style is so off-putting to me...
Beyond omega level: the divine creator
Maaaannn...lemme tell ya suhum!!!!
Franklin Richard’s what?
They took Narnias closet!!
Background music too loud and annoying
Too much of one, not enough of the other.
Hmm…
~_~
This is God number what?
It is a good story, but the art…? Not a fan, tbh.
Yo the art in this comic is kinda wonky lmao
So cool, I want to play that game.
LOL
This story rocks!!!
Your show rocks!!!
