Those 2 bots were the bee knee's in they're prime. I got so hard after I seen this rematch commenced. I love these battle bots and the girls are so hot!
Agreed! Everyone was dumping on her before, when she got the new assignment and it was bumpy out of the gate, but practice works, and worked here. Congrats Lucy & Valk! 🏆
Even though Valkyrie didn't win the whole bracket, they looked *substantially* improved in their fights. Their two biggest problems (under both captains) have always been weapon reliability, and controllability. Here, the weapon never stopped working (even when the rest of the robot did), and aside from a couple of the big clashes with Rotator that sent them both flying, Valkyrie was planted on the floor the whole time. I don't think Valkyrie got stuck in its signature "gyro-dance" even once.
Tbf, since season 5 it didn't do that much because of that fin on the side. It's meant to stop Valkyrie from wheeling. Plus, Valkyrie has overtime become a bit more compact at the front with that ablative armor.
I wonder if Victor changed his strategy at the last minute, seeing the possibility of Valkyrie riding up and hitting the wheel. Perhaps that wedge of RotatoR needs another redesign?
Can't blame him for trying, but at the first sight I knew Valkyrie had better chances with low blade design - hit from her would mean all the force delivered, as she would bounce off to the ground, while Rotator bounce into sky - all he had was chances. But in my opinion Rotator has better design overall as he is bulky and small compared to V shaped Valkyrie. Anyways, great fight it was.
Actualy, before i read this, i sayed the reverse. I mean, there was a maneuver at 4:23 and 5:57 that i called "Pendulum move" once i belive, could benefit the Rotator gameplay.
I think the plow was right, but the weapon placement was not. It left the underside vulnerable and easy prey. Personally, if I was in RotatoR's situation. I would've done the same thing in season 5, but maybe add a couple abblative bits to the wedge to make Valkyrie off balanced.
I was surprised Rotator wasn't able to take advantage of Valkyrie hitting the ramp multiple times. That harder steel might make it more durable but if it's too heavy to quickly rotate, it ruins their game plan.
Glad to see Lucy is starting to get the hang of controlling such an absolutely destructive robot in Valkyrie I can't wait to see what she has to offer in World Championship VIII :)
Rotator in Carbide attire for this fight. This was a good rematch where reliability was the factor for both Valkyrie and Rotator, with their weapons still working after the 3 minutes.
I'm so glad this wasn't a disappointment: the first fight in WCV was an absolute barnstormer, potentially The Best Fight from the season, potentially reboot BB entirely, but this wasn't a complete letdown, a very competent back and forth, and Lucy/Valkyrie looked a lot more dialled in and comfortable with driving, which was ver promising to see
It is good to see Valkyrie return to form. Lucy still need some practise with the driving, as Valkyrie is even harder to control, than some verts, but im sure she will get it soon. She finally got her confidance and agression, now she need to feel the bot better, to be able to attack faster, and she may bring Valkyrie to new hights.😊
Agreed. At least for the Finals or even for the elimination stages if there's no clear winner, they should go for a round 2 right on the spot. Here Valkyrie was clearly dominant but there were a lot of instances where a round 2 would have been a much better solution for everybody, for the audience and the teams for not getting snubbed.
Not quite as theatrical as their first fight but a great attrition battle and a redemption to prove Valkyrie is still a threat. Fun fight..best of 5? 😅
They were trying to avoid a repeat of last time where they used that strategy. This time, I think they wanted to cause more damage to Valkyrie out of the gate, but Valkyrie's reach advantage prevented that.
I didn't really like these minimalist concepts where they are basically metal blocks with rotating blades. we need to innovate new technology and new design to counteract this established idea and take it a step further.
@@renatoigmed well, we have rotating drums to combat rotating blades. Chomp is more of what you're looking for but they are not successful. Chomp is a work of engineering art.
Very good, precise and controlled driving from Lucy and that facing one of the most aggressive and astude drivers around. So happy for her. Awesome performance of the whole team but and the driving was the notch up.
Anyone who's seen Lucy Du operate her 30-pounder Kablooey Tango (which is basically a 4WD Valkyrie) in NHRL knows that she's a beast on the sticks, and this time we finally get to see evidence of that. Compared to their explosive S5 match, this was a lot more measured and technical with Valkyrie patiently picking away at RotatoR's defenses. RotatoR landed some hard shots too but by the end its wedge was hanging on by a couple of bolts and its tires were shredded, while most of Valkyrie's damage was cosmetic. A well earned win.
Although both sides put up a great fight in this one...Rotator was being mangled by the end of it. Respect going out to each team for putting on a clinic of what BattleBots is all about!!
This episode is probably one of my favorite BB episodes ever because of the rise of the Bro, but the fight of the episode is definitely this fight, followed closely by the finals of this episode
You can for sure put this match as fight of the night ❤put them on at any time and they will probably steal the show it's unbelievable they have only fought each other three times I think the way they work the angles and the box would have you think they have more experience together like a tombstone and witchdoctor or a nightmare and tombstone I can see as long as Victor Soto is captaining or rotator and either Leanne or Lucy captain Valkyrie I would love to see more out of these potential rivels
How ROTATOR could win? 4:23 Pendulum Move 5:57 Pendulum move 7:10 reprise 2 times the reallity showing the face of the victory and they just ignore it. IDK if they was not confident about this maneuver. But this seens that was a weak spot of Valkyrie that the ROTATOR's team dont exploit.
Against a narrow opponent it could. But with an opponent that has a wide defensive front like Valkyrie, a sit and spin move like that would be a bit useless. RotatoR tried that in their fight in Season 5 and it didn't work.
@@wilbertvanvulpen9553 I asked the team what happened and it was simply a time constraint. They weren't able to hotfix their receiver wires to the transmitter because they put the lid back on with little time left. That's why Valkyrie's drive ceased weirdly because those weapon to weapon shots got them loose. But Shreddit Bro should take that win with a grain of salt because they would've lost.
Amazing fight but quite a frustrating one too, if Rotator had stuck to the plan and used the wedge they easily could’ve won but kept going weapon on weapon instead and taking as much damage as they dealt
Rotator using the wedge to set Valkyrie above to damage her wheels ended up backfiring badly - Valkyrie's low blade means she was able to slice off Rotator's wheels from above.

Valkyrie vs Rotator may be the fight of the week, but the episode is really all about the rise of Evan, the Bro, and Lucy to glory.

I love watching these two fight, they are such perfect counters to each other it's always amazing

That was a really smart move by Rotator; get Valkyrie to ramp off, then attack before it can turn around.
That was the reason of their loss actually....while on top, valkyrie's undercutter sliced open rotator's wheel.
@@mohitsharma1406 rotators wheel had already been hit by this time. 4:23 is when valkyre hits rotators wheel.
They shouldve done it all the time
It was, but a great error. It left the underside vulnerable to attacks, which was why Valkyrie mauled the tires more easier.

The training of Lucy with Kabloey tango and Nightwing in NHRL really paid off that was such an aggressive driving from her
This was filmed last year before all that. So she should be killing it next season!
If Dave Meltzer would rate BattleBots matches, he would've given this match 5 STARS!

I am surprised that Lucy has get to used to control Valkyrie comfortably against ROTATOR. That was still a good match though.
The irony that Stryker (a medical stretcher company) is a sponsor to a battlebot is quite humorous to me.
