Extreme may not be the best series but always the most nostalgic. Had it recorded on VHS as a kid.
Love these best ofs, great for binge watching
The driving by George Francis at 45:20 simply perfection
Childhood memory: me crying because the robots were hurting each other xD
Killalot actually looks more intimidating when aflame.
I think he liked it
@@Patrick-pk5hk Kinky 👌
The worst part is the fact that IT did nothing
@@hirathemedicbird523 I imagine there was panic in the house robot control booth, could've been a lot of damaged components if Killalot wasn't extinguished in time.
@@jds355 hell it could have exploded it’s got a gas motor
14 was a really good match! Kill-a-lot catches fire, and refbot gets to use his fire extinguisher which is something we don’t get to see often during the course of the show
I have to say, the spinner of wild thing, I've never seen it close to 6000 rpm, more like 300.... lol
Yeah it’s pretty useless, it stops spinning as soon as it makes contact. Very poor design
@Carlee Gana nope I don’t care you’re right
Lol hardly got to 300 🤣
Revolutions Per Match?
@@Subtlenimbus 🤣 🤣 🤣
Robot Wars Extreme really was the Tornado show.
razer is so fucking satisfying to watch
I've been living under a rock, I just discovered this show. I knew about UFC, Boxing etc but never about robot fights.
We work really hard to keep this going and spread awareness for people like you
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Killalot: "Guess I'll catch fire then!"
It has a gas motor so probably fuel tank
ALL HAIL HYPNO DISC.
This era was so cool, wasn’t the most technical of course compared to todays bots, but the amount of iconic battles with some of the most famous robots, every bot was so unique looking and different to each other I love todays robot wars/battlebots but it feels like a lot of similar designs because it works the best, back then they were still developing the best “meta” and it make for some incredibly cool designs
I watched this live when I was a kid. Awesome show!
Credit where it's due, Stinger went from out in the first round in series 3 to third place in series 4.
Sir Woolly Jumper yeah Stinger has always been the dark horse I feel
With just two tyres and an axe!
That two fights of Tornado vs Chaos2 were timeless.
Always love these, you do a great job uploading the episodes, and then a bit of a personal touch always feels good. Keep it up, you're a true legend! And I'll continue making know-it-all comments on your videos. :P
would love to see tornado Vs carbide
i remember when i was kid i stayed up past my bedtime and watched reruns of this show this video brings back memories
this looks like something that would be playing on spongebob's tv
Lmfao the little razor in the todler arena
17:57 the commentator started reciting some make shift Macbeth
I use to get up at 6 in the morning to watch Robot Wars in the old days
Yeah it was one of my favourite programs
Man Tornado was such a fucking good robot. Simple design and strong as hell. Just destroyed everything
They still have these I remember watching this on TV
What channel??
Wild Thing was worried about the speed of their wheel and forgot all about torque.

minus sign!!!
I want to hear Aussieman do the commentary on this. Shit would be fucking hilarious!
he does m8. if u havent already check out *ozzymanreviews* and there should be a robot fight vid. although no as serious when i comes down to the robots, it still has robot fights and a aussie commentator
Smith Smitherson. fun fact youtube was started in 2004.
cuss alert cuss Alert
I'm glad that Battlebots don't have the house robots. They crowd the floor and they interfere a lot. Let the gang battle it out.
My love and loyalty always for Chaos 2
7:00 SIR KILLALOT IS ON FIRE!!!
They Say He Has No Weaknesses, DO YOU WANNA BET, He Vulnerable To Flames & Has Exposed Tank Tracks
id forgot all about Robot Wars, they need to bring this back, get all the oldies back too, Razor, Chaos, Hypnodisc, Tornado, the list could go on and on, someone needs to bring this back, but also not woke it. needs to be back as is then. when it was amazing to watch.
the time one round takes is too short in my opinion, as a fan who loves watching its kinda disappointing to see the action end so soon especially when the fight is good...
J B I know I'm late, but the reason the rounds are shorter like that is so more can fit in an episode, and so repairs after the battle are relatively equal, since everyone only gets so much time to do so. IE: if someone in your heat wins because the opponent had an electrical fault, leading to no repairs needed, but you had to go through a 25 minute slog against another bot, resulting in both bits being ripped to shreds, you'd lose almost every time
It would be great though to see some form of proper death match though
at the beginning, that person only had one job, was to hold up a big number one...fail
Some really good picks there! Great work!
Would be nice if you'd put the winners of the battles that went to the judges after the fight, or the description.
Consider it done!
goonerbeagunner4life ttttttttrr
The house bots need to stay out of the battles most of the time. Too often they interfere with the actual competition between the competitors.
Well it's part of the rules, if a player gets pushed into the CPZ or a certain amount of time ticks down a House Robot can come down and spice things up. It's part of the challenge.
Well at 1:40, they seem to be interferring a bit too much. They stopped the one from spinning, forcing him to turn around for no reason, opening him to be hit again just after getting away from the wall.
20:20 The ref bot ruins what I've wanted to see for the last 100 matches.
Yup i agree with you. Also the battles that people bring in 2 robots against 1 is also not fair.
I Love the House Bots wreaking HAvoc, I'd be staying clear, and if I get bit - So it is war! If they bring in a helper bot, and whatever the rules are that allow it are met, I think they are fun to watch... and the Joy when when of those little tough helpers gets demolished hahah
I want to see a battle between tornado and 20 roombas 😂
Razor must be one of the most beautiful designs ever.
26:30 i dident even know there's an ant weight division 😂
Man, Tornado was truly an underrated machine! Very effective spinner and pushing power for the time!
Good machine, not so good team
Even though I thought they have Clever defense against Razer
are you joking? the spinner was useless. They had no weapons, it was a really good 'push-bot'. 4 wheel drive and good traction is about all they got
@@EldarianLegend I like Tornado, but I agree the spinner was almost superfluous. Wasn't it just added to meet some rule requirement for an 'active weapon'? Tornado was the active weapon, all of it, a self-propelled hammer. If flippers were allowed to count as an 'active weapon' when all they can do is toss other bots, then so can the front of Tornado.
But at least the spinner didn't seem to reduce the effectiveness of Tornado's attack.
The spinner did some damage, but not anything major
Hypno Disc is such a great robot
That ant weight battle was hilarious 🤣🤣
Firestorm was always my favorite for going after the house bots and having fun in the arena.
I hope tornado won that last one. I also think that the house bots are really annoying, because the competition should be just the competitors. The house bots really change how the fights go, to the point where all you have to do is drive your opponent into the house bots.
I think this was done so that there is any destruction at all in fights where both bots are just about control and pushing instead of having any active weapons. Entertainment over fairness.
The big cheese flipping shunt was legendary
This show is cool.
And... old...
This show was my childhood. Anyone knows the gameshow where 2 teams skate around a ring on rollerblade and bodycheck the opponents and make them fall to win?
Roller derby.
razor is the best "robot" in these kind of shows i have seen. both looks beautiful and does something different than all the rest. slooooowy stabs you. kudos to whoever designed it.
4:26 The one that got away. :P
33:18 Behemoth: ""Sorry, must dash." Thermidor: "Oh yeah?"
Somehow, I got great pleasure seeing Pussycat lose to Tornado. Without Razer, Chaos 2, Pussycat, etc, Extreme wouldn't have been half as much fun.
He lost to thermidor and not tornado
@@realitycheck3361 Pussycat lost to them both
15:43 I think Razer set itself on fire on purpose there. Sheer intimidation factor.
Hypno-Disc / Wheely Big Cheese / Ming 3 will forever be one of my top fights. Hypno-Disc absolutely dominating, Ming 3 losing its wheels, the damage dealt to Wheely Big Cheese, it really was an awesome, destructive battle. Seeing Behemoth being thrown out the arena by Thermidor II really was very satisfying, awesome and impressive during the Thermidor II / Behemoth / Stinger fight, because I really was thinking Behemoth would win since it's just such a good robot, even though I'm not a Behemoth fan per-se.
Ah Tornado, the greatest hack in Robor Wars history.
Great selection of battles here and I fully agree with the number one choice. It seems like a battle that's rarely regarded as being one of the best in the show's history but I've always felt it stands as one of the best battles in Robot Wars.
Indeed. Not particularly destructive, but a great tug-of-war between two supreme machines. Makes for very exciting viewing
Tornado and hypnodisc where the goats back in the day
Lots of style, control, damage... and aggression here.
Love the battle music they use.
What if every robot hoover is being secretly hacked to activate when one is asleep and start doing this shit around ones humble abode.
Boy, they've come a long way..
Wild Thing was so underrated, such a beast of a machine. Also WT V C2 >>>>>>>>> tornado.
Arguably one of the greatest battles in Robot Wars
I always loved this show because of Killabot. IDK why, just watching that thing come in and fuck up contestants was always my favorite part.
Grant Wallace for real he was judge jurry and executioner
its sir killalot but ya the house robot where some of funniest stuff from the show especially Matilda.
If the battlebots of today faced these bots, they would rip them apart😂. It's crazy to see how much robot combat has evolved over just two decades
Love it when someone attacks the house robots!!!
Gotta give the Japanese Pilot some mad respect for going up against a bigger robot with a chainsaw alone.
it's 2017 time for BATTLE-DRONE WARS and then battle-drone wars vs robot wars
One of the biggest ever mysteries to me is how stinger became one of the highest seeded bots by just being an axe and two wheels 🤨 man Thermidor 2 had a powerful flipper
Seems really ineffective too
it’s because of its incredible driving and unmatched aggression
Watch Stinger's season 4 fights
Very cool
Anyone notice there was no pit release button in the Wild Thing v Firestorm
(Correction. Didn't know the whole all stars had no pit button!?)
My favorite parts - When killbot was set on fire. When Firestorm went crazy and started attacking the house robots after Wildthing was out. The antweight champion. Too many lols with the ants. What do those things weigh, like 16oz?? lol
soz for a reply after so much time, but i loved when ever the good flippers had a pop at the house robots, it came a such an iconic part of RW. honestly i remember the first time i saw that ant and its arguably was one of the best things ive ever scene. BTW they weight about 5.¼ oz
the big bots are neat and all, but i actually wish there was more publicity for minibots like fight 7
looks like a cheaper 'entry level' type of robot battle that more people could get involved in
I love these videos, but PLEASE please add in who won? Just put some text over the finale and say who the judges decided. It'd be easy to do!
damn George Francis was way to trigger happy against tornado
For you battlebots fans/robot wars haters do you realize that these fights were from 2004
*2001
26:51
That laugh makes me laugh too
Captivating!
estoy esperando con ansias que se hagan en argentina estas batallas de robots
Ricardo Orrego espanol? no espanol
They need to get rid of that stupid timer if the robots have weapons and not flippers. It so lame how the robot is about to crush his opponent but the stupid timer kicks in to end the fight. I get that they don't want to wait too long, but sometimes it just comes on right away.
Same. It means that the house robots can't destory a finished robot, which is basically the whole point of the machines. I kid of understand it though. Since the new format includes a point scoring system they don't want a machine to get too messed up so it can't compete in it's next bout. Still a shame though.
It used to matter back more in 2001 (when this footage is mainly from) because battery technology was massively behind what we had today and the robots would likely just simply stop moving after 3 minutes. This was an issue a similar US show called Robotica had as it often had no time limit.
#7 was pure comedy
-8 holy shiet, was losing all round, suddenly beats his opponent but hes like, nah thats not enough for me goes for the house robots who outnumber him 4 to 1
i like that guy fuckin goin ham, hes got balls of steel
How can I watch the robot wars series on tv
I wish Tornado could meet Carbide or Tombstone. I wonder if these 2 spinners could destroy Tornado, which is very well built.
Yeah, just about any spinner up to modern standards would eviscerate Tornado. It was tough for its time, but the team were considering retiring Tornado around 2004, due to the evolving power of robots such as Terrorhurtz.
Flash further forward, and combat robots are putting out forces far beyond anything that an early 2000s chassis was built to deal with. Tornado was mostly made of thin mild steel and polycarbonate; Tombstone eats thick Hardox for breakfast.
I miss this show can’t find it anymore
I haven’t seen wild thing in ages but boy he was good 😅
Suicidal Tendencies looks like the Razer you get off Wish.
Please say what is the background music when the captions come at 0:00
i need this song played when titles shows anyone?
@31:12 That kid is so mad and salty LUL
Any time the house robots are attacked is hilarious
some of these i swear, they dont even have a weapon that would actually do damage, like wtf does stinger do, poke at you?
Robot combat has come a long way since 2001.
honestly all of these bots would get decimated if they went up against some of the bots from battlebots, especially tombstone.
Big difference. A lot of Robot's in Robot Wars (at this point in time) were built with whatever they found around the house. Not to mention it's a lot of money to build these. Battle Bots have big companies with them so it's more than likely they would have better quality. I prefer it like this as it shows the hard work that goes into a robot. Battle Bots honestly feels like they are machines you can order online
yeah, but like, my point still stands...
Bork youre also talking about old tech vs new tech and new modern bots vs the slightly more experimental days. Its like comparing an old semi auto pistol or a harmonica rifle or some weird thing to a modern firearm.
Exactly what I was saying
Bork
Battle bots
0:13, you had one job!
No robots were harmed in the making of these video...
Cual es la diferencia este extreme robot war y battlebots?
Battlebots estas en los estados unidos, robot war es de Englatierra(uk).
The arena needs to be lit better.
You: I want Razor.
Mum: We have Razor at home.
Razor at home: 16:11
are you allowed to use titanium as the metal for your bot?
TheGamingGeek yes, you could use anything but the weight limit is 100kg
If you can source it and budget your weight, yes, but i'd warn you, the bots have gotten to the point where shards that come off have gotten lodged into the arena walls, so titanium might do you jack fuck-all
36:37 all he had to do was go forward and scoop him out wtf.
The power of his scoop was damaged in the fight and the behemoth team was asked about it, and they said that their scoop was damaged.
In the game, i have those robots in the side corners, i can use it, and i know most of the players who played this game have it
That game sucks. The developers didn't even finish the other game.
good video
The technology that's available these days you would think some1 would invest a good bit of money and make the ultimate robots to fight. I do think these robots are awsome how they're made but it seems to me there should be beasts around theses days that got better weapons and better movement
have you not seen carbide in the new series ? undefeated and took 0 damage in every match.
YourSoSeezy I'll check him out now dude
Yea that's a much better robot. They need a few more like that now to make some interesting fights
Sizzla_91 ....so modern robot combat on the tvshows
So what loophole did Gemini exploit in order to have two robots?
None. You were allowed cluster bots - sets of robots - as long as they met the requirements (not over weight, etc.) between them. And originally, as soon as one or other cluster bot was out, the whole set of cluster bots was considered beaten, although this did change such that the whole set had to be beaten to count as out.
Seems like cheating, but actually requires more thought to essentially make two robots from one.
@@asw853 thanks for the reply! In the last 3 days I've been doing the deep dive on Battlebots and Robot Wars, and I ended up seeing many other battles with cluster bots and mini bots. I actually just went and found and read the publicly available 2020 Battlebots ruleset too (once I heard about the weight limit bonus for walkers that the new version of Chomp got).
This could be a really cool sport if developed a little more, though I think the real sport side of it is going to come from the smaller weight classes, where the spectacle of television is less of a concern, and it is just more technical.
I'm loving catching up on 25(+/-) years of it though, and looking forward to where it is going to go eventually.
I feel like the weight bonus for walkers was aimed directly at Boston Dynamics and Big Dog 😆
