Sorry for the vertical video... we made this for IGTV when it first came out... what a dumb idea. Figured we should post here now since it's still good stuff.
Hey TTT! Amazing video. I've watched it multiple times and you guys are 100% the best source for training information in the sport of fitness! I have a question about your protocol for dealing with this athlete. You mentioned avoiding using 'zoned' work and instead using a 'blended' energy system training method. It just gets a little broad here. I understand you want to specifically target the limitations, but maybe you could actually give a very simple example of an interval workout that you might give her for the respiratory limitation and / or for the cardiac limitation? Also. Would you ever consider using respiratory restriction devices such as the Airofit or other?
Evan, you mention a situation in which an athlete does not push enough on the Wingate Test, even though his/her physiology would allow. How would you train an athlete like that?
This all seems good and well and I’ll trust that you know what you’re talking about, but there seems to be little practical advice in this video for someone who doesn’t have a PhD level dude doing a (more than likely) very expensive blood test on an athlete. I’m an average dude that has two kids, a dog and a full time non-CrossFit job that wants to get better at the “CrossFit-ty” stuff. Do you have a recommendation for a place I can go on the inter-webs to understand how to raise the level of my energy systems’ performance/decrease my energy system’s limitations in my daily workouts other than, “just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” as Dory would say? And BTW my wife won’t let me quit my day job to pursue my lifelong dream of being a full-time CrossFit athlete with a daily Vlog...thanks.
Training Think Tank Primarily no. I’m following the free Trifecta workouts posted each day and working in daily goat work to get better at what I suck at (positional practice, movement drills, and lower intensity EMOMs to build volume, etc). While I imagine that most people will say to get a coach or pay for their monthly subscription, that’s not practical or financially feasible for me right now and I’d like to actually understand the why behind all of this so that I can get to the point of understanding how to program for my specific limitations and get better at this sport. I love the TTT throw downs because you explain several approaches to the workouts and why.
1. This values (200W;250W;300W etc.) are based on different test from the past or there are universal for any athlete male of female? 2. You said she increase pace every 2 sets until failure. So for example, she keep 400W for 2'30" from second 400W's set and not be able to keep that pace anymore, so she wait to the end of 4' window + 1' rest and from that point start Wingate test?

No worries, total worth post and watch. You guys put out some of the best content for coach and athletes to watch.
Drop Athletics...100% agree, excellent info 👍🏼, thanks TTT !!!
Was a nice change to watch vertical! Some great info in this vid.
ABSOLUTELY clearly described and very much appreciated
Gold content, as always! Thanks for posting.

Half of this guys IQ fits on the IQ chart
Do you have different ways of specifically dealing with a "Delivery Limitation" as opposed to a "Utilisation Limitation"?
Where would someone go to get this test done?

How do you turn off the music?

Gavin Brawley are you writing your own training program?

what protocol did you use?
Do you one if Evan uses Golden Cheetah, PeriPedal, PerfPro, or another system to read the data?
PeriPedal and Golden Cheetah
1. This values (200W;250W;300W etc.) are based on different test from the past or there are universal for any athlete male of female?

@Evan Peikon Thanks for the answer, now it's a lot easier for me to understand this method.
