lol this video (or the older video of the same topic) makes me think of the last clip i watched before this. I was watching Mix with The Mater of Happy by Pharrell Williams and you can even hear the mix and see (on the waveform) that it's very dynamic before the master part.
There's perfect declipper to "restore" the clipped peaks and "reverse" the distortion. For modern version of perfect declipper, there's Thimeo Stereo Tool's declipper feature.

But Thimeo Declipper doesn't declip all clipped peaks, because there are limited instead. This is why we have now the De-limiter.
@@JnL_SSBM That's the whole purpose of declipping. It won't declip the limited peaks but I guess you can use both 🤷♂️

I see your general point. But for those that don't already get it, I'm not sure this will explain anything to them. And there's no reasonable A/B comparison in the video. But I do agree that the loudness wars are pointless now, if not even a lot worse than being pointless (other than to sell plugins). So any criticisms I have on this video are meant to be constructive. Having said that, the "Delimit" thingy seems like a tool to simulate/approximate an original copy. But let's not think that it truly replicates a track before it's over-processed. Know what I mean?
Agreed. It's no substitute for a properly cooked master.
