- contra no death tips. How to beat Contra no hit, deathless, no damage on NES. Or probotector as I originally knew it. In depth walkthrough on how to do a no hit run in Contra on nintendo. No konami code required. And with the recently released Contra anniversary collection on PS4 it's a good game to come back to.

That was a far more informative video than I expected. You sure crammed a lot of dialog in some of those sections!
Yeah I had to talk really fast and I even had to cut some sentences out to make it fit. So much to say, so little time.
*Dialogue*
Great video! I dust the cobwebs off the old NES every so often and play a few rounds of my favorite games. Contra is one of them. I’ve always strived to have a flawless run, although something always goes wrong and I take a death along the way. I’ll try implementing some of your strategies into my gameplay and see if I can pull off a flawless run! Thanks!
Awesome :D good luck with your run!
Awesome video! I have no intention on ever playing this game, but I love your videos.
Ik waardeer het echt dat je zoveel moeite stopt in guides maken voor challenge runs. Voor mij is dit een van de beste gaming guide kanalen, dus nog een beetje Hollandse trots ook!
Dank je wel :) dat waardeer ik
You should play this game. Its fantastic
Nostalgia! I remember playing this with my brother in a fake bootleg Nintendo, I don't remember it being too hard. Seems like I need to take my nostalgia goggles off..
Well difficulty is subjective. Contra does appear in most top 10 hardest NES games lists, and the 30 lives konami code became famous for allowing people to get through the game. But I definitely agree that are way harder NES games than contra. Still, not getting hit is quite a task in the end.
@@PressContinue yeah you Did an amazing job with the no hit challenge! I guess because I was younger I had more time and I had no problem replaying the levels again and again..
Another way to destroy stage 5 tanks is to jump just before they stop moving to bait them to shoot forward, then you can safely approach them
Nice Guide... Great Work also loved your Castlevania 3 Guide would Love to See so more Guides for Castlevania Games in the Future... I m gonna play some Contra Anniverary Collection now and use what I learned here. Peace from Germany
Awesome! And yes it's likely that I will cover other castlevania games in the future.
wrg, musclx etcdoesnt matter, not manx or not
Good job..now do a no hit guide without picking up any powerups(use the starting gun)
This looked much more harder when i was Young.
well It still is, but yeah when I was young there was hardly any NES game that I could beat. It was pretty unique when you were actually able to finish a game.
Masterfully done my man! Now try doing this with silver surfer lol
Well, I will definitely do Silver Surfer at some point.... but a hard reset no hit run for that game, er... probably kind of no F-ing way
The spread gun was my favorite.
Well played!
Thanks :) nice to see a comment appear on this old video
@@PressContinue For sure! I know you focus mostly on Souls content now, but I love your other challenge series! Hope you make some more in the future.
I tried to upload today with no death run, but Facebook blocked the video, stating SME (Sony Music Entertainment) owns the content. Meanwhile, lots of people are already uploading months ago and was not blocked.
I don't know about facebook, but on youtube NES games videos do often get demonetized or partially demonetized. But fortunately not completely blocked.
@@PressContinue it's okay, i re-uploaded after an hour and it went through. I also uploaded here in UA-cam as well. Thank you for replying to me.
I always thought "B" stood for bulletproof. Looked it up and sure enough it is for Barrier shield. My guess just made too much sense 😂
why not use laser? you can cut it off by firing again and it does the most damage on a single hit.
Because 99% of the game there are multiple enemies on screen at once and the majority of them die in one hit. So higher dps is most of the time irrelevant. And especially when most of the spread hits a boss at once, the difference in dps isn't even that great to begin with. So I highly prefer spread over laser.
After recently doing a no death run myself with the spread I seriously reconsidered using the laser when I realized how powerful it could be. The laser is often thought of as the most useless weapon, but it's fairly OP if you know how to use it.
This is about shooting villains.
And some aliens
How to get a no hit run:
Just don't get hit duh, it's in the name.
Im just playing this again recently in my emulator..
An absolute classic
Too bad this game is a such shameless rip off of Probotector, right? :)
No shame at at all XD
Funny thing is that years ago I heard so many mentions of contra as one of the greatest NES games, and when I eventually saw footage I was like... huh... I know this game... but it looks different... and I never heard of the name contra before. And when I was young I simply had no idea that probotector had a different version under a different name. Quite unnecessary change by the way
All you have to do is drink a potion an become super human ....duh
Is that potion beer or whiskey related by any chance?
