Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa Florida is proud to present this ‘Mint' 1963 Chevy Bel Air 4dr sedan! Words like ‘cream puff' and ‘survivor' are often thrown about with abandon in the vintage car world. But this - Old Lady Owned - 63 Bel Air sedan exemplifies the description of a cream puff, survivor! The current owner of this clean, time capsule is the second owner of the car. He purchased it after the original owner passed on and the family decided to let the old girl go. The car has only traveled a claimed 55,800 plus miles and was blessed with one respray in the original Ermine white. The interior is just as it was from the factory as well. Resplendent in blue vinyl with cloth patterned inserts, the mid-level upgrade from Biscayne to Bel Air is readily apparent. Powering this car is the venerable 230ci (3.8L) 140 Hp, inline six. This engine sends power through a ‘three on the tree' manual and propels the car with adequate and smooth, budget minded power. This car is claimed all original with only basic maintenance items being replaced over the years. Such as ball joints, suspension bushings, and chassis bushings. In short, this ‘Old Lady, creampuff' runs and drives like its 1963! The experience behind the wheel is a great reminder of how far cars have come while simultaneously reminding you of just why Chevrolet was a leader in sales during the 60s. A very smooth, effortless, driving car with no power assist in the steering or brakes - and frankly - having no need for them. The big six hums along with nary a complaint, and the transmission is smooth and direct in the linkage and action. The body doesn't groan or creak and neither does the suspension. In short, a great driving car! The only option on this ‘sedate' Bel Air is the radio, and it still works!
This once ‘low-key' example of basic transportation is now a rare and unusual head turner. It's condition in no way reflects it's 57 years old. Scoop up this rolling time capsule before its's to late!
