You even say it yourself that it took you X amount of tries which means that its still random not %100, it might have been a mistake but in the end this is still click bait BS. Actually you have good tips but its the %100 that's BS, and you do have good videos.
Also there is a meal you can eat at camp if you have it unlocked that reduces you fishing line breakdown by 25% it actually helps you out a rediculous amount
this quest is such a difficulty curve compared to the first two. fuck fishing. theres a reason i never leveled fishing above 2 until navyth and fish fetish came around

Thanks for the help - the diagonal position for the joystick helped immensely. I tried probably 15 or 20 times before this, and then got it on the first try with the new way. Definitely made the difference.
You're dead wrong. The Vesper Gar is only for the Navath or whatever. Gladiolus wants you to catch a royal something or other. Fish the lake dry, then randomly try for idk how long. He won't appear on the fish radar
Generic, slow and the map destinations not clearly shown. "Pause to see...", that was less than .25 of a sec. Kinda hard to do on mobile. This is YT ad-rev bait at it's worse. Glad i have adblocker on my phone.
Don't overthink it. don't have to keep going and camping, just make a save point right in front of the fishing hole. you don't have to worry about losing lures and line....

I am on PC version...caught the Vesper Gar with Gladio's request active and it did NOTHING to clear it....very annoyed
Fishing Level 7 helps with the durability.
