I have followed your tutorial for the past two nights and I cannot believe the improvement I have seen in my faces!! I started with an Art Journal Page you taught and then these three ladies!! So excited and appreciate you so very much!!

LOVE your girlies!! They are all beautiful - I like the tips about using gesso with the NeoColor crayons and the extra gesso wash in the face area! The third girlie is so glamorous with only one gorgeous eye showing!

I love the way you blend/shade the tones on the face. I can never get mine to look like that! They're always blotchy and miscoloured.
    Beautiful work as always!!

I hope this does not sound too silly, but I actually felt tears in my eyes when you started to paint the last girl (the one that takes 40 minutes). As you worked on her eye, coloring it, shading it, lighting it, etc, it became clear to me again why I love making art and love other artists; you brought her to life with your hands and your tools. Thanks for making me remember what I love about all this.

I love this and I too have never been able to draw very well but you have inspired me and I've been at it all week. Been using some old books I have and I love it. Incorporating the words from the pages into the drawings. My daughter who draws very well told me she got in trouble as a child for drawing and writing in her books. I told her it's becuase she didn't own those books. I'm so glad I found your channel. Have a great Holiday!!!

Yay thank you, I'm so pleased you've found it helpful, honestly there's nothing to it but knowing the basics and practising. Would suggest watching again once you have the zine as it should come together nicely then :) much love xx

These are sweet....I will have to visit your etsy store. Have you ever thought of combining your Zines and just publishing an art book? I would buy it!:) Oh, one last thing, those promarkers seem so transparent,,,they are really neat...anything like Copic's? I guess I will have to look at your video on markers. Have you ever tried the Pan Pastels? I bet you could do some awesome art with them. Thanks for the video(s)

I don't see there being any right or wrong way - probably the result of self teaching vs art school but I think if that's what works for do then go with it. If want to get rid of all doubts perhaps sit down and do several faces in that same sitting, map half of the faces, and don't the other half - you'll be able to compare there and then not only want you prefer doing but also what yields best results -- but other than that I say don't worry about right or wrong, and just enjoy creating!! :)

keep practising, you'll find a way that's works for you...just unfortunately takes getting through a few sketches that you don't like. I still don't like the majority of what I do, but the 10 paintings I don't like is worth the one that I do :)

I loved how you did this only I couldn't see the lines? I could only see after you started using the black marker.
I realize this is probably because your selling this on etsy and I will order your girls as soon as I have a little extra money, but I was thinking I could learn from your videos only the pencil is to light for me to see to follow. Lol
Thank you for your videos I love them and you are a great artist that I want to learn from. Thank you:)

You know, everytime I watch video tutorials about drawning faces, they start with the mapping thing, but I have notice that, mapping for me doesn't work at all, I just lost all sense of proportion by doing this, I personally need to start by the eyes and eyebrows and I develop the rest by mapping in my mind and using proportions just by looking at the original, is that wrong, do I need to get used to use those lines in the sketch?

People who compare the promarkers to copics generally prefer the copics I think, but then I think I probably would too as they are about 3x the price so would expect them to be better. I love Pan Pastels (yeah they're in the Art Journal Supplies 101 videos), pastels aren't my preferred choice of media but when I fancy using them they're the brand I go to. Publish a book?? Lol I'll have to think on that one, the zines take enough time & work to get out there lol
