I used to play this game RELIGOUSLY and told my self I would never play sessions, but here I am 2024 only playing sessions and I've left Skater XL behind awhile back. Sessions just feels like a more complete game now.

It seems almost as if there's something big going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Everything that has happened so far has been straight up weird. There must be some dictator like figure refusing to care about the game. This could've been a masterpiece, something to go down in history for skateboarding. But someone is preventing anything close to that from happening.
This is why, even though I don't really like the skating as much in Session, I fully support Cre-ature Studios. I've gotten every DLC they put out because they haven't abandoned their community. They're even moving the game into Unreal 5. Easyday has the skeleton of an incredible game and they just...never supported it at all. They never evolved the game beyond the tech demo it started as. Technically it's more fun moment to moment in SkaterXL but I will always go back to Session.
it's legitimately insane - they have THOUSANDS of people who would love to play this game if the developers just... listened. like, at all. even a little.
As someone that has dug through the code in SXL, I can tell you they are working on what people want and then some. We already got that video a while back showing what they're working on, they didn't make the date they announced but they're obviously still working on it. They're probably running into more issues than expected. One feature I can say I saw in the code is actually a stats menu, it even had functionality of exporting and importing stats. (don't assume this means it's 100% confirmed though, code could just be experimental stuff that's left over and they just haven't removed it)

It's all in the game code, I can see it when looking through the coding. Modders have enabled some of it too, like Dawg's mod, the wallriding, new primos, and darkslides are all features from the game itself that are disabled. Dawg enabled them and probably made some fixes to it too cause it's likely not finished which is why it's not in the game yet.

Worst dev team I've seen for any game. They could have had something amazing on their hands but they blew it. When mods are the only thing keeping your game relevant, it's not good.

@@zwicker5585 they said last year that an update with more boardshapes, more gear and more tricks was coming and when he now tried to contact them about it they just said they don’t know when it comes out. Even though most features looked pretty good in the trailer. So it is kind of made up but not entirely🤷🏼♂️

@@zwicker5585 They didn't say they "don't feel like doing it" but, considering it's almost mid 2024 and the community has zero idea what's going on because Easy Day is not attempting to communicate with the fans. They said the stuff was coming 2023 and they release a minor update from what others are saying, bugged their game. Nightspeeds even shows the trailer in the video.
Dissing a game isn't being negative. I defended the game for so long till I deleted it off my system months ago. Its still a good game but lovin Session alot more n needed space for other games.

id never owned a gaming computer in my life, skater xl made me do it and i dont regret it.
Modding is the easiest ish ever dude. If you get the computer and the game, the modding would be the easiest part of that problem

@@antikz3731 It's not out of touch. "Dead game" can mean the player count has dwindled but it can also mean the devs aren't supporting/updating the game consistently. It's clearly the second one because the game still feels like an alpha after all these years (without mods.)
The devs are either incapable of completing the work or they simply don't care enough to finish the game.
If only Sessions had a modding community like Skater XL, it would be a wrap.

@@natedizzy4939 would say a system to mod clothing and decks easier would be nice. you either have to download unreal engine or bug someone to do it for you. more map makers would do session really well. seems to rarely get new maps from map makers and the map makers that regularly make maps for sxl either hate session or won't give permission to people to port sxl maps into session

Played sessions and I cannot play XL now. It’s not even close. I wish they’d polish vert and transition since it’s like all they have over sessions
Map challenges are broken also … try california skatepark and in basics last challenge drop in with fs bluntslide… it doesnt count every time
i switched over to session months ago as soon as i realied they were neglecting this game, its honestly unfortunate because this game was much easier to get good at compared to session but the switch was worth it, session is so much more rewarding. etc
I tried playing it again last night on my Switch. Lasted 20 minutes and had to give up. Couldn’t even get a kickflip manny, flip out to nose slide. Did some other tricks but couldn’t get that. Session feels so much better on the Nintendo. The trick inputs make sense and function. I was excited for Skater XL to finally come to Nintendo for the online multiplayer but even that, no one was playing online last night. Created a lobby and skated by myself still..
I wish someone would get an interview with easy day so we could find out why this has gone so wrong
they would literally never answer the questions we want answered. they said, "stats menu isn't in our vision for the game" years ago and just continue to ignore all the people who could absolutely love the game with even just that one feature added

Damn. When SkaterXL first came out I was so stoked. The modding community was so sick, even those early maps where people were making spots by the courthouse because you couldn't load new maps were fun af. At the time, the game had so much potential to be the next big thing with skating/gaming but it's seemed to have really lost its touch since. I haven't played in a couple years now, but it seems like the community hasn't been very happy with them lately, and it's easy to see why.. the game hasn't really improved since I was last playing, and even then it was mostly mods keeping it interesting

I used to play Skater XL almost every day, but Session is just a better experience (definitely on console). The only issue i have with Session is barren to no transition skating. Less importantly, but something that i also miss from Session, is skating with randoms in online lobbies that just elevates the whole experience. If session had Multiplayer and transition skating, i believe it could be the best realistic feeling skate simulator game to date.
i played XL on ps4. i stopped playing awhile ago but even when i was playing, i was forcing myself to have fun with it. i have since got a PC but.... now that Session is here... yeah, i'm never playing skater XL again anyways. Session is sick.
Easy Day Studios are more out of touch with their player base than Konami when they started doing Pachinko machines...

If im correct same people made the skater app on app stores and failed to even keep updates on that. They are doing the same thing.active instagram ppl asking for changes and updates and the requests go ignored and they just post another clip. Just play sessions they deadass care

Not the full story the whole ip was sold and they used the app and basically built on it to make skater xl. Skater was so fun tho rip.

nas de fato, session é muito mais bonito, completo de config, e super satisfatório quando você acerta as manobras. só acho estranho aquele bug que o skate da uns pulos aleatórios quando manda alguma manobra.
Blunt slides are impossible with the slow rotation rate. At least in session I can 360 on flat ground
Beat Session recently and thought about getting this game but reading the comments, I'm sticking with Session.
This has to be one of the most severe cases of bad devs of all time. I wish I could take away 3/4ths of what I paid for this game and give it to Dawg and the rest of the community modders.
The devs deserve all the hate they're getting, if not more. Huge bummer for skateboarding.

I gave up on this game a long time ago. Session is waaay better if you get the controls down.
Im very happy to say I have not touched this game this year :) Been playing a lot of the Tony Hawk remakes now that theyre on Steam tho.
Dude they talked us up so much before release and I was so hyped. I ONLY enjoyed the game I played on release because I thought the devs were sincere and we're going to make it WAY better.. but I was wrong and I was scammed..
Seriously the only way to actually make an impact on this studio at this point is to actually ignore them. Stop liking their posts, stop commenting on their posts, this is the only thing they have going for them. Do you ever wonder why we get the same version of tampa every year? Its because they go to tampa with false and bloated socials numbers and get another sponsor. If they dont have any social presence, they dont get any more sponsors. If you really want to make your voice heard, be silent on all of their posts. They dont even deserve hate at this point. Because all its doing is giving them more opportunities to make money from this community without actually giving anything in return. BOYCOTT THEIR SOCIALS. HIT THEM WHERE IT HURTS THE MOST.

i've already uninstalled XL. not going back to it, as much as i loved just casually during vert there. hoping session will have vert soon. highly doubt it, though.

At this point SXL will never live up to its full potential. It’s so close, but Easy Day essentially gave up and threw in the towel.
Welp thank god I didn’t pay for this or session. I’ve been waiting for skate 4 and will keep waiting. Hell I got skate 3 in my living room 😂
Skater XL < Session
I started playing Session instead. It’s more difficult with rotating before grinds, and going from manuals to fakie manuals (up and then down) isn’t possible, but everything looks and feels better. Definitely more polished, and the developers probably give more of a s..t about the gamers. At this point I’m hoping Skate. will give us something better with better flow, transition and maps.
I thought that was just a skill issue on my behalf lol like not being able to manny up, manny down unless I pop first, lol.
God I hate toxic positivity in skating. If something sucks, you can critique it, because if anything, not critiquing it just enables it to get worse.
I NS's attitude during this video exactly matches the way the community feels. Just kind of hopeless and bad. The best core gameplay of any skateboarding game ever is just wasted now.
Could never get the hang of the controls but then I jumped ship completely after they removed the speed glitch. Really says a lot that even he seems to be done with it. This is straight up depressing to watch.

This game is in such a sad state of affairs with Easy Day. They haven't done much of anything that would make this game worth playing in 2024. They don't listen to the fans, clearly. They don't do real substantial updates. They don't communicate with the fans. It's like they don't care and never actually did.
Tbh we just need everyone to stop playing until they listen cause they are acting like everything okay with all their social media’s are getting torn by comments .this is truly such a shame … we want to be positive , but they make it so difficult

I thought skate 4 realeasing would kick the devs into high gear... NOPE! just a spit in the face of dedicated fans and skaters alike. Shame on these devs, no communication, lazy updates, broken updates. SO sad becuase I love this game modded on PC.
Honestly baffling and beyond comical at this point. What was even their goal with this update? Tutorial challenges for a 4 year old game? Who do they think wants that? Then for them to not even work, ridiculous. It's like they have some sort of quota to meet with investors where they must have atleast one update a year or something so they do the bare minimum (like Tampa every year).
At some point we have to stop interacting with this game. They are not even bothered about the fact the game is not complete or up to par with what the community wants. They make profit from everything we do with their game. This was a beautiful concept and had so much potential but they don’t care about us like we love the game. Without us there wouldn’t be an Easy Day. We give them the publicity and attention which in return gives them $

It seems to me that Skater XL and Session devs are basically giving up. Why ? Because there's a rough competition coming up. A killer. And its Skate which is supposed to be FREE.
That game just crushes these two games easely. Those games used to be good. But way before Skate development was announced.
And now when Skate is coming, it's pointless adding new tricks that are going to be in Skate anyway.
Skater XL and Session devs basically screwed up. They had a chance, to do it more like a Skate. Adding airflips and that kind of crazy stuff, larger maps.
Instead they kept it more to realism, and now Skate will beat that.
