  • Ladies and gentlemen, today I will be reviewing the perfect leather jacket. Nothing else makes one feel more like a total badass and rebel than wearing a leather jacket. Today, we are diving into the rich history of the brand Schott NYC, how they pioneered the original motorcycle jacket style and why their jackets are the gold standard of leather jackets. We will be reviewing their Perfecto 613s jacket and why it may be the perfect jacket for you this fall/winter.

    Have the same one, was annoyed with the dangling buckle, so I called up Schott and asked if they can attach a snap for it? For a charge they could, so I’ve sent it to them and after a week or so, got it back. Couldn’t be more happier. Great vid btw, keep it up!

      Yes that's very cool, I had heard of Schott doing slight customizations like those before.

    I just picked up a 1947 Schott....I found it hanging in the corner of a motorcycle museum...... Oh my God it is so beautiful..... I felt like I found a unicorn because it was so old and so unique.....

    My first view, an excellent presentation, you should have 500K subscribers, you touched on all points and are more informative than many others. You are right, price should be no object, as this is a liftime investment. I bought my first, a cafe racer style in the late 80's when that style was in by Hudson Leathers at a MC trade show, not knowing about leather hide types and cuts and the Schott brand, it looks good now, but is not like yours. I found a vintage 613 style one like this, not sure of manufacture, it is probably at least 60 years old, as it is cut from large hides and smooth grain, uses snaps for the belt, and has all the same features and looks great as it was broken in well by the prior owner. Recently found an A-2 vintage and also have a B-3 Avirex I got new in the late 80's as well...........always get comlemented when I wear these!

      Oh man a B-3? That must look and feel amazing, definitely planning on getting my hands on a shearling coat when I have the funds to do so. Thank you so much for the kind words, appreciate you stopping by!

      Yes, the B-3 was a reproduction coat done by a company called Avirex, but they had done them for the Navy, mypioletstore has the exact same one. Again, I have had it at least 30 years+ and have never, unlike my other jackets, put any conditioning on it. It has taken on nice desert hue color to it.

    I’ve got the 613? But I removed the stars. Best quality jacket anyone can own. This is the real deal.

    • @richardmartinez4559
      @richardmartinez4559 12 днів тому +1

      Isn’t there just a hole if you remove the stars? Like a cut-out in the leather underneath?

    • @MrJruta
      @MrJruta 12 днів тому +1

      @@richardmartinez4559 no they’re just little metal tabs pushed through the leather. You’d never notice it

    The only problem with the 613s is that the buckle is nickle plated brass. If scratched, the brass underneath will show.

      While that may be true, I see it as a positive. Personally, I like my clothes, especially heritage clothing like this to patina. I want it to age and some parts show it's wear and tear, it's how it shows character. At the same time, I completely understand if people wan't their clothes to look brand spanking new. Though leather may not be the best choice for that as it will naturally show it's wear and tear no matter what if you wear it. :)

    This jacket is not for everyone. Depends on the "look" your creating. It works well for you. Enjoy ur new jacket.

    • @thedapperdiary
      @thedapperdiary  6 місяців тому

      Definitely true, not everyone can pull it off and that's okay. I think you need the confidence to pull it off, and you need to enjoy the aesthetic. Some people just feel better in say a suit.

    Fits you perfectly, but why does your jacket look slightly waxy? I love the texture of your jacket man. How long did you wear it when it started to look like this? My 613s is some months old and still slightly spongey and stiff

      My apologies for the late reply. I'm not sure if I did this when I recorded, but I may have conditioned my jacket with mink oil a few days before I filmed. It also could just be the camera lighting. The jacket itself also naturally has a matte finish.

    One suggestion, wear a turtle neck or neck gaiter when wearing leather jackets. Protect your investment from sweat and body oils, ring around the collar.
