The southern city of Toulouse’s long romance with the aviation industry began already in 1918, when France’s famed airborne postal service airlines, Aéropostal, set up its headquarters in the area. Since then, Toulouse has been a centre for the plane development sector, now housing also Airbus, which employs 30,000 people there. The Airbus site is a real beehive of activity, much resembling a city of its own, with its own traffic wardens, public transport, restaurant and even high school.

I find it disturbing only produce new aeroplanes instead of maintain existing... At some point the world will have no ressource when only produce new things.. You cant dig the same gold twice in the mine..
What? Existing planes are being maintained constantly
Aircrafts need regular and rigorous maintenance, and there are big companies like Lufthansa Technik doing the good job, keeping old planes flying for decades. Many aircrafts retired by major airlines are often bought by another airline or a leasing company, or turned into other purposes, eg. freighter or private jets, they are not scrapped straight away.
