Love the 300 6 cylinders. But when they went to fuel injection in 1987, the design was terrible with that nasty plenum covering the engine. I always thought it could have been designed better.
What are the symptoms when they are bad 😢 I drove mine low in gas , now I see white smocke coming out the exhaust and shakes like missing ,engine oil level fine , coolant fine , no overheating signs
Running you vehicle to empty could definitely cause these symptoms. The fuel pump could have sucked up varnish or debris in the tank causing one or more injectors to stick open. The excessive unburned fuel would create white smoke and engine misfiring. To confirm its not a bad head gasket, you can run a combustion test and or a leakdown test.
@@sergioclassic1 You can save a bunch of money by sending the injectors out to be reconditioned at a fuel injection shop. If the injectors went bad due to debris from the fuel tank, then replacing the filter, regulator, and pickup tube sock, would be as good idea. Maybe also send the fuel tank out to a radiator shop to be steam cleaned.

Its a beast to wrestle off, but i feel its design somehow benefits the 300 in achieving great torque

That's a nice sounding I6! What's your exhaust setup?
Im not sure what kind of muffler is on the truck, but it does have quad tips at the rear.
