Cycled up there a few times, definitely the hardest climb i done compared to a lot of other hills in and around that area. Cannot believe how busy it is though!
Too many people on the planet, bumper to bumper, you used to go out in the peak District in the 80s and 90s and hardly see anyone, could walk on roads, just heaving every day now, especially mam tor. I'd sooner walk down the Sheffield canal these days Tim 👍
That is why I stopped going into Derbsyhire Richard. Two years ago Christmas day it was deserted. The numbers for Christmas day are staggering, but many from the other team.
@@timawellsI went on Derwent edge year before last and I was surprised, it was all them and coach loads of them as well. You never used to see them, the peak district was an escape. My heart sank, I thought you can't even get away from them out here now!
@@timawells just spread everywhere now Tim. You never saw them out there in the 90s. I saw a huge gang on Withernsea beach barbequeing with loud music playing, everyone was looking at them. No escape.
Thats crazy for Christmas day! 20 0r 30 years ago used to be so quiet after Christmas Eve until New year then it picked up again.
I went two years ago and not a soul. I go Christmas day thinking it would be quiet.
Lovely area, remember walking up there with the youth club long time ago. Nice seeing it busy ,lovely day for a walk .Thanks 😊
I wouldn't have gone if I knew it was going to be that busy Christmas day Hazel.
