We have heavy sand at my club and many of the bunkers also have shallow sand and using bounce the club literally bounces and the bottom of the blade blasts the ball over the green. Any thoughts on modifying techniques here?

Sorry just saw this; there are a few tweaks one can do but it is also personal and depending on how you feel in the moment.
Generally it’s a less open face but a lot of the time it feels ok to lay it open but still commit to nipping it.
Aim an inch closer to the ball than fluffy sand, and ditch the aggressive swing. Think short and sharp, like a punch. Keep the clubface square and focus on skimming the sand just behind the ball. No heroics needed, just a crisp contact to pop the ball out. Remember, finesse beats force in this sticky situation! Good luck!
