From what I read John did truly love and respect Freddie - maybe that is why he took Freddie's death so hard. They were good friends ..and you are right - the respect showed. When you look at the video The Good Die Young - John is so very sad. The whole thing is just so sad.

I think people can be a bit self-centred when talking about death. Read through comments about Queen videos and you inevitably read people saying how 'sad' it was that Freddie died, and how sad it is to see him having so much fun when inside he knew he was dying.. This video has a lesson for all of us. The one person who wasn't at all sad was Freddie. Here he is, doing what he loves more than anything, and having an absolute blast. His death may have been sad to us, but the most important person in Freddie's death was Freddie, and Freddie sure doesn't look sad in this video. He's living his life to the full.
No one knows what he felt inside... Kloun makes others smile but it doesn't mean that he smiles inside...unfortunately. I miss him like everyone who leaves comments...

I didn't listen to Queen in my younger years (I loved Chicago!), but LOVE the music now!! It brings me close to tears, because I lost my brother to AIDS, also, about a year before Freddie. A terrible time, for many, but his music will reign forever!!!
A great bassplayer must have an idea of what he's providing for the band. JD is probably the most versatile player of all time. He delivered only great bass tracks and Freddie knew that. He considered him as Queens secret weapon. Elton John said Deacon is his fav player, unfortunately he's in Queen. JD was just amazing!
The bass played throughout the song is performed on a synth through an arppegiator and not played by John. There is some real bass in the song around the 2 min mark and nearer the end which is pretty cool though.

Its unbeleivable, Freddie was terminally ill and yet this performance is filled with unsurpassed energy. There is no other singer like him. In the past or the present.

An underestimated jem, this song is full of surprises, starting with this beautiful intro with dramatic key changes, mirrored by the dramatic key changes in the end of an epic guitar solo. Lyric are meaningful, all the instruments are played by masters (try to play the riff on a bass, it's in F major), and Freddie's genius voice on the top. It's a tour de force! Of course!
Came out when I was 13, and hardcore Queen fan for about two years... (still am a fan, but these two years, I listened to nothing else but them) And yes, it's one of their most unknown (at least for casuals) great songs.
We didn't know at his time how good he was. We enjoyed his music and his voice. We didn't know if another voice was coming around the bend to take Freddie's place. Man, we were so wrong.
Freddie and Brian at 2:17 are friendship goals😭🖤 What breaks my heart is seeing all this magnificent energy given out to us his fans while HIV was eating his insides bits and bits and he was as lively as ever! But like modern days artists would go out of the lights if they just happen to have flu or simpler issues than Freddie's! RIP Freddie, I wish I witnessed your existence🙏🏻🌸
I can't understand who doesn't like Queen, a band that mixes sadness and happiness in just one song (or in one melody) and makes it perfect... well, it's very hard to do something like that. Queen can do it so easily, even more so with Freddie with his fantastic voice.
Led Zeppelin was the founding father of the stadium tour, the most succesful hardrockband of the 70's. Queen never managed to do a huge stadium tour like Zep did. I like both Zep and Queen, but Led Zeppelin were bigger in every way; tours and record sales. Not really inferior
@@Ray-ud7gw Ok ok gay man now go back to your hole. Queen literally has ten times the views and subscribers today in every platform. 🙄😭
Imagine taking a walk and seeing Queen pass by just performing out on a train! They look like their having the time of their lives! So many fun vibes from this video! ❤️😍 Beautiful song, beautiful band.
This Covid era has been really depressing and one of the things that has helped me most is Queen's music. Breakthru has always been one of my favourite songs of theirs, such an underappreciated song and music video. We miss you Freddie 👑👌🏻

Jer Bulsara lived a very long and blessed life. After Freddie died, she’d go on talk shows to share about his younger years growing up. She’d bring his clothes from his teens & early 20’s and show a corresponding photo. She was so precious and cute, this sweet, softly spoken, unassuming little old lady. Makes me think that Freddie’s shyness, kindness and large heart was greatly inspired by his mum. His sister, Kashmira, would always come with Jer to these shows to help fill in blanks and move the story along. Jer died on my birthday in 2016 (sad birthday). Had Freddie lived, he’d have just celebrated his 70th (Yesterday, September 5, was is birthday.). I bet he would have been a handsome silver fox 🦊.

The moral here is always enjoy yourself
Thank you. You make me smile

Only bass players can understand how difficult is what John is doing, hardest bass line ever
Samuele De Santis are you bass player? Anyway i understand that is difficult even if im not a bass player!!!!
Yep it's up there with Frankie's Welcome to the Pleasure dome base line
A great bassplayer must have an idea of what he's providing for the band. JD is probably the most versatile player of all time. He delivered only great bass tracks and Freddie knew that. He considered him as Queens secret weapon. Elton John said Deacon is his fav player, unfortunately he's in Queen. JD was just amazing!
True
The bass played throughout the song is performed on a synth through an arppegiator and not played by John. There is some real bass in the song around the 2 min mark and nearer the end which is pretty cool though.

I can't understand who doesn't like Queen, a band that mixes sadness and happiness in just one song (or in one melody) and makes it perfect... well, it's very hard to do something like that. Queen can do it so easily, even more so with Freddie with his fantastic voice.

Freddie blessed be the woman who gave you life.
