Thanks a lot for your videos Alex, these are quite complex cars. On the other hand, once you understand how all the systems works, the hyper barrier I felt for driving those machines gets thinner and thinner ^^
from what I remember making the Rear-ARB stiffer gives you oversteer, while making it softer gives you understeer, basically the opposite way the Front-ARB, at least it how it works on other SIMs
What we found is that it depends on the car, it seems to be a quirk of the BMW and some other cars. However the process is still the same wether you raise or lower the rear ARB, just make the changes until the rear of the car does what you want it to do 👍
I mostly think about ARB’s when it comes to Indycars and maybe that makes me realize it more. But ARB’s being too soft also makes your aero platform too unstable, so a 1 for your front arb might be great in a slow corner but could be horrible in a fast sweeper
Thanks for watching mate! Yeah there is steering angle there (it’s the blue bar above the gear indicator in replay mode during the first two laps) but a steering wheel logo would be nicer I agree with you.
Hey Alex ! Thx for this nice video, it will really help ! Do you know if we can assign ARB adjusments to a button on the steering wheel ? I didn’t find it from my side
No problem mate glad it can help! I will have to check to confirm this, I usually use the MFD to change this one but if there is no keybind available for it I will let the developers know and maybe they can put the option in for us!
@@alexkayracing might it be because you use very soft settings anyway? Is it the same, when you change from like 7 to 9 or 7 to 5? Or is it because with your driving style, you rotate then on entry very much, then have not much of turning on exit, which leads you to rather have the feeling of less oversteer then?
@@kanolightracer5 that could also be possible yes, what I have found is the arb is that it’s easy to also mess up the balance; so that sometimes lowering the rear ARB could also cause it to stiffen. But the way I do it by raising the rear arb always makes the rear arb stiffen probably because of the type of balance created. You should try both raising and lowering the rear arb, if lowering them works for you then do that one, but experiment with both 👍
Thank you so much for your guides! I find this one extremely useful! I have a question though... When I drive the Porsche Hypercar it suffers from huge oversteer (especially in circuit like Portimao!) even with the front ARB set to the max (5). Is there another way to reduce oversteer with the Porsche? Thanks!
Glad they can help! Is this in the hairpins in particular? I remember when I first drove the Porsche that it would tend to oversteer a bit in the slow corners.
@@alexkayracing both slow and fast corners (in the last fast long corner I often spin while it doesn’t happen driving the other hypercars). Maxing the front ARB doesn’t seem to change things as I would expect.

QUESTION: If you could choose one new car manufacturer to build a hypercar for WEC, who would you choose?
Alfa romeo, mazda.
@@das_III damn imagine an Alfa Romeo Hypercar that would look insane
Mercedes
Mercedes
@@Lunatic_Snowy I wonder what an AMG Hypercar would look like, would it still have that massive grill like the gt3 car?
The sound design in this game is impeccable
I love it mate honestly, super immersive. The BMW sounds so raw
Ah that's pretty straightforward. Never touched it in-car before but reckon I could play with that midrace now.
Lemme know if you get the same effects mate 👍

Yeah it’s about balance at the end of the day, but in these hypercars you often see the ARB’s on the lower end thanks to all the crazy aero they have
Stunning video
Thank you 👍
thanks Alex for the video, i can't wait for more setup guides. please do mores :) they are awesome

isn't it the other way around? If it's too oversteery, you reduce rear arb?
No I always found raising it will stiffen the rear, at least in LMU
