I love this design, i think it will look good when it gets a bit ‘beaten up’ so I wouldn’t be concerned about scratches and scuffs, but as for the interior, I would definitely get an insert or spray a fabric protector 😃
the quality of this leather is also thats high quality thick healthy skin. if there are scratches you can easily take them to a leathershop to have it buffed polished or even dyed out. dont worry. wear the bag. ive seen bags that look absolutely destroyed get refurbished to almost brand new.

Deciding between size 12 and 15. This was helpful knowing you don‘t like the crossbody of the 12. 15 is shoulder bag. 12 is mostly top handle since crossbody isn‘t the best.
I was under the same dilemma but went with the 15 ultimately as I'm 5ft1 and the unadjustable strap would not have worked with my frame. Although, I found inconsistent strap lengths online and never knew what the true strap length was. Didn't want to risk it regardless. As RM mentioned, she's 5ft4 and it was bulky on her so I'm happy I got the 15. I'm small enough where the 15 could work as a shoulder bag without engulfing my frame
