PRECAUTIONS WHILE USING CLINICAL THERMOMETER - DEFINITION
Thermometer should be washed before and after each use ,preferably with an antiseptic solution.
Do not wash the thermometer with hot water.
Ensure that before use the mercury level is below 35
Read the thermometer keeping the level of mercury along the line of sight.
Handle the thermometer with care, as you handle any glass articles.
Dont hold the thermometer by the bulb while reading it.
CLINICAL THERMOMETER - DEFINITION
Clinical Thermometer :Clinical thermometer is used to measure our body temperature. The range of this thermometer is from 35C to 42C. For other purposes, we use the laboratory thermometers. The range of these thermometers is usually from 10C to 110C.

SIGNIFICANCE OF CLINICAL THERMOMETER TO MEASURE BODY TEMPERATURES - DEFINITION
The temperature of every person may not be 37C. It could be slightly higher or slightly lower. Actually, what we call normal temperature is the average body temperature of a large number of healthy persons.The clinical thermometer is designed to measure the temperature of human body only. The temperature of human body normally does not go below 35
We cannot use clinical thermometer to measure temperature of hot milk as hot milk has more temperature than the range of clinical thermometer.
