Avicii was a Swedish dj and has mixed a lot of amazing songs . Aloe Blacc has an amazing voice and had collaborated with Avicii on many great songs . Avicii real name Tim died way to young and is missed by so many .
Avicii was my childhood. Me and my best friend used to listen to his music everyday on our way to school, good times. He's deeply missed, RIP, we're not forgetting you.
The symbol is for Avicii, it's his logo, supposed to be AV (turned sideways). I think you guys nailed the meaning of this song. The cool part is the acoustic version has the same lyrics but the video turned the meaning of it into something totally different....yet the same in a way. RIP Avicii. Side note, Mark Cuban always talks about the best times in his life were not after he was successful but before. It really is about the journey! Awesome reaction Asia & BJ!! Much love!
Its an internal struggle to find yourself, Interpreted by the consumer and not meant to be looked at literally but metaphorically. We all struggle to find ourselves, this song feels directed to the ones that feel like outliers but remind us that somewhere there is a place we all belong. We just need to find our people.
Omg omg I am just such a huge avicii fan massive respect to you for reacting to him, he changed the world of music. Would love you to watch the concert they did in his memory all the huge stars were there who sang on all the records with him, apart from cold play but I won't go there (FCM). You may need to do that on your time as it's long but it is a great way to see the affect he had on the world in real time also the king and Queen of sweden were in attendance and they have really honoured him amazingly in Sweden
The first time I watched a video of this song I believe that it was a live video from a concert and I noticed right away that the camera was on the audience more than Avicii, unlike most live videos by other performers. This told me that he thought that the audience, in other words the fans were much more important than he was. Seems like he was showing that he wouldn't be where he was if it wasn't for his fans. So as much as I loved the music I had mad respect for Avicii.
In 2012, at age 22, Avicii was admitted to the hospital with extreme stomach pains. It was determined that he was experiencing acute pancreatitis due to excessive alcohol use. Doctors instructed him to heal his stomach's inflammation by avoiding junk food and staying sober for at least 6 months.
Great reaction guys, too few reactors have even touched EDM and Avicii. The guy singing is actually Aloe Blacc and the DJ you see waving his hands at the show is Avicii or Tim Bergling as his real name was. Sadly he commited suicide and died way too young. If you listen to alot of his lyrics there's alot of depth in them and sometimes actually sound like a cry for help..He suffered bad from mental illness and adiction and bad management..when he got his breakthrough he did somewhere around 320 shows in one year. One can only imagine the toll that took...If you wanna watch more I suggest his first hit Levels, or Without You or A friend of mine.
'Bad management'. You're too generous. More like 'Twat management', in my opinion. They pretty much worked him into the ground; while he was making money they capitalised on his talent by packing in tour after tour, longer sets etc, then back to his anonymous, lonely hotel room - rinse and repeat. All the while he was suffering, lonely and surrounded by hangers-on plying him with booze when he should have been protected and looked after. 26, man, that's no bloody age at all.
@@ruthmckay9086 Yeah, 'Bad management' was a bit of an understatement..it was bloody awful watching the documentary about him and seeing how bad/ill he was at times..
My mom says this song reminds her of me. At the time this came out I tried to take my life. I can’t listen to this song without bawling my eyes out, especially since Avicci took his life
So many of his collaborations pointed in the same direction, like ‘The Nights’ I think his best. But then there’s Without You done magnificently by Sandro at his tribute. He sang about the end too much, it’s haunting
Chris Klaffords acoustic version of this song is awesome! He sang it to remember Avicii. Super sad that Avicii took his own life because of mental health issues.
I feel this song was the beginning of his depression... he's speaking to us through this song ... after his suicide I realized what's this song was trying to say ..rest in peace friend .
This is about changing ideas about whats acceptable in dress in sexuality in every aspect of life as opposed to the old way of thinking that some folks , things and ways should be cut off and forgotten as opposed to being awake and aware of all
The song is deep... Also..same day that they announced on TV that Tim had passed away, they aired this song performed by another great Swedish artist, Cris Kläfford. The way he sung it, made the song almost depict Tim himself. Confess it made me cry ua-cam.com/video/GosvvVt7jIM/v-deo.html
Scott Hoying from Pentatonix has a great cover of this song on his channel. It's a great song and a lot deeper than it first seems on first listening, when you just think it's a good bop, especially when you combine it with the video. Sadly, I kinda think they lost something when they just made it all about the concert lol. It's all about recognising you don't belong where you are and finding the place & people you belong with. He struggled with mental health issues caused by the stress of touring (from the sounds of it they were doing around 300 shows a year, travelling all around the world cconstantly), he told a friend that he worried about the stress of it killing him. So he chose to retire from touring in 2016. But he kept making music and had even been releasing music again (something he had said he excited to be doing). But idk if maybe he was worried about being pushed back into the crazy touring schedule (we can't know what was being said to him in private by his management etc), or if he hadn't gained the peace he'd been hoping for, regardless of the the reason, the sad outcome was that he took his own life in 2018. It's such a sad loss (as it always is when someone takes their own life), he was so young too. Apparently he had hundreds of unreleased songs, some of which were finished, and so, as a tribute to his memory, the family/estate has continued to release his music, documentaries, and organised tribute concerts, with the proceeds going to the foundation his family set up in his name (which originally aimed at raising mental health awareness & suicide prevention, but has apparently since expanded to climate change etc).
Still an amazing number. ❤️ Still sad that he is gone. I think his death was the biggest shock. One guy I wish was still around. AloeBlack did amazing on this song❤️

Check out start of ESC 2016 in Stockholm Sweden: ua-cam.com/video/no1v1-2HZ6g/v-deo.html That is all swedish EDM (SHM, Avicii, etc. Watch the "Flag Parade". Yeah, you have to find your tribe.
My username holds no secrets, I am a dance music dj (trance) and I have been for over 20 years. My experience of being a clubber, in my country UK, means you live in a subculture, the more you become involved in the music scene the less you feel connected to the outside world. You are generally viewed as a "freak" as someone who is high on drugs, and that increasingly makes you aware of the opportunity you have been given. I go to clubs where there is no discrimination, no violence, no racism, no sexism. Nobody cares how much money you make or what background you come from. For the most part you will only be asked 2 questions "what is your name, and where do you come from"
The video title "First time listening to music" would be about as true as this videos title. There is no way in hell you hadn’t heard this song before!
For a week now people have been looking at me like they do in this video. I'm starting to think I freaked out at one point and did something stupid which has gone viral. I have yet to see that video and I hope there is none.
As you have done the reaction on this song of the original maybe it would be easier to listen to the version of this song from his funeral of another Swedish singer cold Chris Kläfford when will you get a more correct of the songs that it was really about Avicii's own life.
