Heard the 707 and 706. They are exceptional. I have 805's from 20 years ago and B&W PV1D sub. Still love the 805's but the carbon tweeter in the current 7 series is a game changer. Old 805's have an aluminum tweeter. Test driving an NAD M10v2 with both speakers right now. Very satisfying so far.
Hello. I have ordered bowers 706 s2 without demo as demo is not possible where I live . I will be pairing them with my old Harman Kardon 3380 stereo receiver. I have heard reviews that these speakers sound bright / harsh so one cannot listen for too long ? Doesone have to do any tonal adjustments to 706 s2 for listening?
I bought some B&W 706 S2 speakers and I had to advance the treble at least 3 clicks before I liked them. Also another reviewer said that these are slightly less bright than other B&W speakers. How come you find them a bit bright? Mine seem to have enough upper highs but lack the more lower highs. The ride cymbal is clear but the voice sound lacks timbre and the voice sounds a bit "foofy". Unlike the Nautilus demo on UA-cam. They sound so much better, with that throaty sound that I like. 😅
Hello Just, regarding their high end, the room can sometimes accentuate certain frequencies in ways that are either pleasing or distracting. Also individual preferences exist. So far our 706 S2 customers seem to like them a lot

Can I ask you? You recommend (for lower budget) marantz 8006, but I find that NAD 388 is cheaper. Do you think marantz is better than NAD in this particular models? I'd like to hear your thought
Hello, I don’t know if you will see this much less answer but I am new to all this and I’m thinking about getting these but using them as my right left speakers and using Av receiver Onkyo rz50 and just wondering would that be enough power or do I need to add an amp ? Thanks
Hi Michael, you've asked the $64 question - "Would receiver or amplifier XYZ be enough for these speakers"? Our gut feeling is yes, your Onkyo should be a good match. But that can vary significantly from person to person. What is plenty of loud, clean sound for one may be not enough for another. A new set of Bowers & Wilkins might spark an sonic improvement that leads you to want to also upgrade your amp. If you stop by one of our Maryland showrooms, or a good nearby AV retailer, and listen with a comparable amp, you'll likely find your answer. Thanks for asking
@@GramophoneMD Thank you, I guess I could get them and in a few months add an amp!? If I need it but I’m planning for now to use them as left right it was this of the Kef ls50 meta

I have the tone controls at zero. I'm using an NAD amp with them. NAD amps tend to be very neutral. They do not sound harsh to me but that could be because of the amp. I use.
Hello Rishel, the room itself can have quite an effect on the sound. Sometimes if a speaker sounds bright, it's in a room that doesn't have much absorptive carpeting or furniture. So moderately using tone controls to shape the sound in a specific room is a good approach to making sure you enjoy your purchase, regardless of which brand / model speaker
I have the NAD Masters M10v2. I have owned several NAD integrated amplifiers over the years. In general NAD equipment has a neutral sound signature so it doesn't make much difference which one you use as long as it has enough power to drive the speakers you have.@@rishelbhallabhatia1672

I've had the smaller 707 s2 I loved them
Good to hear it Birmingham
can't go wrong with any B&W
Skip the 600 series....
I had cm5... Wow. Awesome. Now they are called 706 S2. Same to me. More $.
Also, Elac dbr62 (reference) sound about the same for $700.00 to my ear. I actually play real music. Live.
Tower speakers for me for being more extensive down low!
Not often I hear towers having more bass, just louder.

Towers for my fronts, bookshelves for my sides and rears
Towers to the left of me, bookshelves to my right. Stuck in the middle with you.
If you think these do not have enough bass, are you using a tube amp????
The right tube amp is actually a good match for them, balances them out a bit.

Personally I do. NAD is great stuff, but the Marantz gets my vote here. Now hat said it is all a matter of taste, that NAD is a great piece too.

What are good 2 channel Intergrated amps. I’m a Yamaha guy and my friend has a simple 306. Or do you recommend any others?
Yamaha is good, I like the Marantz stuff or McIntosh on Bowers myself.

What about the NAD C700 with these speakers?
Not a bad match. Though I may recommend something with a touch of treble roll off like a Prima Luna Evo 100 if you aren't playing them too loudly.
