    Beautiful view! We have bears in Canada and wouldn't trade for spiders for love nor money.

    I love the concept of camping with a postie bike. I watch Chris Bamman who seems to pack so much onto his postie bike which seems to have no trouble with it.

    Great video. If u get a front rack u might be able to do away with the back pack , they do make the steering heavier though if u put too much on them. 👍

      Yes, it's definitely on my shopping list, even if only to just put my sleeping bag or jacket on it. The middle rack thingy that goes between your knees would be good too, would be handy for a small easy-access camera bag.

    The simplistic and uncomplicated aspect of Camping, rarely seen or done by the masses nowadays. Highlighting the Magnificent Hunter Valley natural beauty. Great Vid..

      Yes the solitude of this video is a stark contrast to the next CT125 camping video I published.

    You sir have the best videos on UA-cam of this genre IMO! The editing, the narration, background music all outstanding! You are motivating me to get out and do the same on my Honda Monkey!

    Great video, and now I'm even more pumped. I'm just getting ready for my first hammock camping trip. I bought a hammock, tarp, bug net and underquilt. I am really not looking forward to carrying the underquilt but every video I've seen says you need one, even when it's warm during the day because just a little cool at night will be miserable. I noticed you didn't have an underquilt. Was it really warm there, even at night, or are you just that hard-core? At first I was thinking, "and in December, no less," but then I realized you are in Australia. :)

    • @WildStuff
      @WildStuff  Рік тому +1

      You definitely need something underneath you while in the hammock, but an underquilt is just one option. Personally I use a simple lightweight camping mattress, similar to a Thermarest but mine is by Sea to Summit. I use this setup all year round, including in the snow, just by varying which sleeping bag I take and how much warm clothing I wear. I also skip the bug net in colder weather.
      I prefer the small inflatable mattress option better as it packs down super tiny, and doesn't dangle below the hammock and get caught in any longer grass or branches sticking out.
      I show my sleep setup in a bit more detail in this video, if you scroll forward to about 3 mins 40 secs.

    We do live in an amazing country which is hardly seen by most of us. Apparently Bali has more appeal but not for this little black duck. It is the wide brown land for me.

    I’m new to your videos and you have inspired me to do a little camping. Spiders..eek, but I like your sleeping set up. Dunny ? Well, that’s another matter.. have you listed anywhere the items you use? Hootchie, , I think that’s what they are called. stove etc. keep up the good work. Enjoy life👍

      I don't have a list as such, but in an older moto-camping video where I rode my Grom to the same campsite, I do a little illustrated run-down of the main essentials I bring. I also have a couple of videos about hiking/hammock-camping in the snow, and I discuss my sleep setup in a little more detail, as it was probably close to -10° Celsius and there's not much room to get it wrong in those conditions.
      So have a look at around the 3 mins 30 sec mark in my Grom camping video: ua-cam.com/video/HnnEZNFEL8s/v-deo.html
      And about 3 mins 42 secs in the first of the snow hiking videos: ua-cam.com/video/iDeQsdNuU9w/v-deo.html
      And 7 mins 2 secs in the other hiking video: ua-cam.com/video/j_1rmZG5RGs/v-deo.html

    Another great video thanks Steve. Impressive packing getting all the essential camping gear in, especially a quiet bevvie to take in the view before setting up camp. Will have to try your toasted sandwich combo sometime! The postie seemed to take the dirt roads and single track in its stride.

    • @WildStuff
      @WildStuff  Рік тому

      Yes the Postie had no problem at all. The only issues I have are due to my own inexperience - I'm not a super confident rider when it comes to a crumbly loose gravel surface. So for the time being, slow and steady wins the race.

    Hi, this looks like an absolutely beautiful spot.
    I wondered if you might be willing to share a pin drop of the coordinates with me (privately if you'd prefer). I'm fairly local and would love to check it out for myself sometime.

    • @WildStuff
      @WildStuff  Рік тому

      No pin drop necessary, just search for Flat Rock Lookout on Google Maps, and that's the spot.

    I'm curious to know what speedo is that you have above the headlamp? I love your setup so minimalistic yet practical.

    • @WildStuff
      @WildStuff  Рік тому

      It's all fully stock - just the regular speedometer that comes on the CT125.

    Great video, how did you find the stock tyres on the dirt roads?. I was on a couple of tracks last weekend that looked the same and found them a little slippery.

    • @WildStuff
      @WildStuff  Рік тому

      I had no issues with them. Some knobblies would likely give me some more confidence but I found the stock tyres held up quite well.

    Great channel! Between the ct125 and the adv 150 which one do you like better off-road? Thanks

    • @WildStuff
      @WildStuff  11 місяців тому

      To me, the CT125 is a much better off-roader. Bigger wheels, a bit more tread, easier to stand up on the pegs, and plenty of space for camping gear on the cargo rack. I'm quite a timid off-roader and get severe traction-anxiety on loose surfaces, and the CT125 gives me a lot more confidence than I have on the ADV150.

    • @diyside
      @diyside 11 місяців тому +1

      @@WildStuff Thank you! I have always loved the design of the ADV but I think I will also go with the CT since I am planning on riding more off-road

  • @FerventReminder
    @FerventReminder Рік тому

    Do you still have the Grom and if so, do you prefer one over the other?

    • @WildStuff
      @WildStuff  Рік тому

      No, I sold the Grom to a friend in 2020 to fund the ADV150. The Grom was fun and was originally what got me into riding, but I'm very happy to have moved on from it now. In many ways the CT125 reminds me a lot of the Grom (a small red 125cc Honda) but the CT125 is a much more comfortable ride, better suited to off-roading, and allows me to carry a lot more cargo.

      @@WildStuff I like the appeal of being able to convey more things but I can't really get past the price difference, it does look fun though.

      @@FerventReminder Yes the price of these things is ridiculous... but sometimes you just want something bad enough....
