Great informative videos but can we see more of the finished projects, when you did the bumpers we did not see the car from various angles. Maybe some shots of car going past with the features so we can really admire your work. same with the finished roof rack from all angles that would be great to get an idea of the overall look, really enjoy watching ,once again thanks for the trouble.
Hi Tracy, firstly I really appreciate you watching our videos. Thank you also for such constructive comments; it really is useful. We're still quite new and will do our best to provide better finished article content when we conclude a video. With this in mind, we're thinking of doing an overview video of all the things we've done so far... good idea?
i like your mods. i'm doing many similar ones to my 2007. I'm curious why you went with a hood install rather than a roof however. do you expect to carry rooftop luggage frequently that would block a panel up top? Did you settle on a 100watt panel just for starter battery top up? I'm hoping to get a 200watt roof flex panel that is enough to power a fridge and such. thanks!
Hi David, thanks for watching. Exactly right; a roof install would take up too much room on what is actually not a very big roof. I now also have a Pelican box on mine which leaves space for the tent and not much else when we go camping. The hood panel is indeed for the starter battery. I decided to focus on making the car as reliable as possible before thinking about utilities, and as these cars are very power hungry, I wanted to keep that battery in perfect condition. The system I have does now charge the secondary battery but only when the car is running. If I find that I need more power when I’m camping I’ll likely just get some folding panels which I can store in the car. Good luck with your own install!
