@@jeffvanderhoeven3408 If you look at the muffler from the back, you will see how there is a "land" or flat area between the outer shell of the muffler and the inside diameter of the muffler. Take your muffler off. Then, just take a rotary tool like a dremel with a cut-off wheel and CAREFULLY cut through the metal all the way around. Try to stay close to the outside edge about 1/6". After you cut through just place the muffler (rear end down) on wood or rubber and using a long extension or something slide it down into the muffler and pop it out. Be prepared to re-jet carb or modify fuel curve for injection afterwards.
I did same to my 2019 1200 and now it makes a chirping noise when idling and after doing lots of research I found out that it's a very very common thing.the bike is 10 times louder and sounds good but I guess I'll have to live with the chirping noise until I get a set of pipes.
Hey mate. Not sure what you mean about the wick. Our pipes here in NZ don't have all that baffle shit in them like in the States. We just drilled through a plug which is about 1/8" 2mm thick. Its not much. Just go slowly & be careful. Good luck. Cheers Grant
When I look at the back of my exhaust, I see an oblique stiffener after two inches that obstructs the passage for 3/4. Is that there with you too? Do you drill past that before you are 10 inches further up against the end plate where the hole will come in or do you not have that angled partition in it? Could that be a European story?

Cool video, thinking of doing the same on my 1200. Thanks for showing the suzuki too! Well taken care of! Wow your buddy has some nice toys!
That's awesome Grant..! She looks beautiful and sounds awesome! I appreciate the shout out sir.
Take care and be safe out there.
I took the baffles completely out and my iron sounds amazing. Way better than just drilling a bigger hole.
Baffles out of stock muffler? Is it easy to do?

Drilling the Exhaust, does it affect the performance??. I've got a HD Superlow Sportster. Is it safe to do so on that Machine??
Should I tune it then?
are you talking into the baffle by the way during this video... good video thumbs up....

Hey mate, is your jaw broken?
Hi Grant, can you tell me the size of the wick ? thanks

It has a baffle. You drilled through it.

I have the same angled partition too. If you look at from the back of the buffler you will see the catalyst which they don’t have in this video
Did you just come back from the dentist? :)
Sure beats forking out $1000 on a new exhaust
U can understand half of what he’s saying
Take the phone out of your mouth
