New 2024 CFMoto 450 MT - Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 чер 2024
- The new-for-2024 #cfmoto 450MT is a potential threat to Royal Enfield's dominance of the Himalayan. It might look tough and rough but this parallel-twin engined adventure machine has a low seat height and enough electronics to make a difference without overwhelming.
Adam 'Chad' Child gets sent to The Philippines to check it out, and here's the #motorcycle #review
The in-depth review is at BikeSocial.co.uk

This bike is going to be sales hit! People said same about Royal Enfield and then it proved itself better than Japanese competition
The problem with royal Enfield in India is the Himalayan has set that monopoly....which doesn't allow people to explore other options available in the market. Royal Enfield service and support is poor here. CF moto came to India with very old stock motorcycles which they never sold in good numbers.
It's not better
It's cheaper
Vinegar is cheaper than wine, doesn't mean it's better
@@BN1960 Same can be said for Japanese motorcycles in comparison with high end European motorcycles
Which competition would that be?
@@BN1960that's the poorest analogy I've ever heard in my life.
Gotta love Chad, he literally recorded three reviews of the same bike at the same event!
Everyone loves the Chad
FYI... CST is an abbreviation for Cheng Shin Tire, part of the Taiwanese brand Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co. - the same company that also makes Maxxis tyres. They've been around since the late 1960s.
When I was karting - they were always known as Chicken Shite Tyre company...
Who needs rider modes?? Just more crap that folks want cos some other bikes got it. Cheap n cheerful fun. 👍
True riding mode is such a gimmick to me but traction control is a must since I ride my bike daily and it rains almost twice a week in where I live, and I ride quite aggresive every single day, I also dont mind about abs since its not really important if you really knew how to handle your bike well in hard braking, but as for traction control tho, I think it is a must in every bike since motorcycle can get quite unpredictable on slippery road especially in rain
Yeah, riding modes are just ways to put a handicap on the bike because they're too strong or powerful for most riders, there's no point in getting a 130hp bike and ride it with a bunch of electronic controls that limit it to 70 hp or less most of the time so you don't crash.
Nothing wrong with CST the tyres tend to be of a harder wearing ( less grippy) compound but often people compare the budget cst tyres that come with bikes with after market premium tyres.
Check out their premium tyres.
I use CST exclusively on my e bikes.
Folding mirrors from the factory (you can fold them inside while riding offroad - save if crashed). Same for Gear switch. For many adventure bikes you have to buy it as aftermarket accessories.
Couldn't have asked for a more perfect video as wanted to buy one out in the Philippines when I move😂
Looks nice, be interested to see how those get maintained during long-term possession.
More and more choice in the lighter adv market. A market I intend to get into perhaps in a year or so so I'll be happy to evaluate a lot of bikes at that point.
Not sure how I would feel about a first year bike (from any manufacturer) if I were in the market right now.
nice review nice bike
Just pre order one and am now worried about tyre choices could you put a 140/80/18 on instead
Seems perfect bike for PH roads and Pinoy riders
Why can't you integrate your phone to the 5" TFT to bring up google maps for Navigation?
Sounds like a decent motor with plenty of grunt for offroading.
Hope you enjoyed your Filipino holiday. Thanks for the postcard 😂
Just revisited your 2024 review of the Himalayan and given the choice.... I'd go RE. I quite like the looks of this one but, like others I suppose, I'm concerned about what a couple of British winters is going to do to it. With the RE you're buying into the brand. Can't quite say the same thing about this. A quick googlesearch shows prices similar...
A British winter will ruin any make of bike unless thoroughly cleaned and protected regularly.
Bro this bike overly used for work on the terrains of himalayas.so what the heck uk winter do with it@@lestersmyth692
amazing place!
When’s it coming?
How many spark plugs on it? Can it work with worst in the world asian petrol?
Its more of a adventure or dualsport ? It looks like direct competition for CB500X.
Lovely bike.
The unicorn bike is finally here🎉🎉🎉
USA release?
Mate, when you say the ergonomics are a bit this or a bit that, could you please let us know your stat's as so we can get an idea as to where we fit in relation to the ergo's?
Otherwise a good first impression.
Cheers!
Fair point, and usually Chad mentions it in the video reviews he does. He does so in the accompanying written review, that he's 5'7" (170cm) "on a good day": www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/bikes/cfmoto/450mt-2024-review
What do you want to know
@@bennettsbikesocial That's handy to know as I'm 5'7" too. I tend to look for reviewers around my height when looking on YT.
I love this bike. CF Moto are, pretty much, the ONLY bike manufacturer giving me any hope at the moment. I'm a huge fan. This will be suuuuch a great seller.
It’s Chad yet again didn’t I just see you review this for Bike World or have I been drinking too much lately 🤔
Simply!! He's got 2 channels work !! Ha ha ha ha!! 😅😂😊
Serial killa
so exciting getting mine in 1 week
Congrats, how is it?
@@Broodjemetbeleg I should have it this week.
@@danlesan5854 nice, wish you good weather!
Interesting to see how it performs on UK motorways for like 2 hours to get somewhere more testing. Ideal enviroment to test the strengths of the bike. Guess thats why they gave you the kind of roads they did on the launch.
I love the way that people who are looking at this sort of bike start criticising it’s motorway performance. You don’t have to use motorways. If you’re a fan of motorways I suggest you buy a diesel hatchback.
@@davidmatthews3093 I have a diesel estate, and a BMW GS. Sometimes there are time constraints and the quickest way is unfortunately motorways or dual carriage ways.
I'm confused, as I don't think he said it enough. Is it under £50 a month? :)
Yeah, going to take ten years of fifty quid payments at zero interest to get to 6,000…. I don’t think that pencils out!
What is it like on a highway?
The Bersys x300 is 8600 USD in Costa Rica, this bike is almost 10.000 USD, brands love to play with offer and demand, they love to F us real bad. Still, this is a way better option than anything on its class for off road, only the NX500 is better on road for a similar price, about 10.500 USD.
db killer is removable?
yep
@@metalsadman thabks, that is a nice feature and not mentioned enough in reviews
What does it weigh with a full tank of petrol?
I've seen 425 lbs/197 kg for weight fully fueled.
@@Xanatros Thank you
@@Xanatrosbulljshshit Himalayn 450 kerb weight is 196 kg how is that possible
@@trappedmoss1172 try using some punctuation so people can understand what you are saying.
@@Xanatros That is heavy. I was hoping for 170-180kg wet weight.
PCP is a no-no, just either purchase on low rate finance or cash
KlaussSchwab: hold my beer
I truly think that there is way too much buzz around that bike, I've been myself attracted to Chinese bikes the last 4 years, riding the Kove Maverick 500, conclusion is I'm going back to Japanese manufacturers, nowadays social media influencers bullcrap starts really to annoy me, or I may just getting older and wiser by the day 😂, great enthusiastic review, very professional as usual, really enjoyed to watch it, cheers from Bali
So you're judging this bike without having ridden it. Got it.
I'm judging the buzz made around that bike at the moment, and I will review this bike as soon as it's available.
Cfmoto is Providing better motorcycles Manufacturers along with QJ Motorcycles of China.I liked your review and the motorcycle
Yes anything.
This Chinese bike is going to tick many boxes, except imo pride of ownership!
and, residual value
20/L must not be surprising. The 44hp simply doesn't appear magically.
Not sure if I could trust parting with the folding for a Chinese designed and built bike.
3:10 yea that doesn't really make sense, but ok
I have a feeling this bike will make KTM regret doing a half-ass job on the 390 Adventure
I like it, looks like a dakar bike.
Chinese tires are fine, most western brands are made in asia anyway by those some companies.
No way under 50 skids pcp will be more like 100 skids
This isn't a review, it's an advert.
Ffs Chad again!🙄🤣
Don’t love the Chad ?
CF Moto will be making a mistake if they don’t bring this to the united states
it will be 450ibex there prolly in the 4th quarter this year
It's going to be brought in as the Ibex 450.
Yes, ibex 450. Fall of '24
Glad you had a nice holiday
Shit bike though
Lol good arguments.
God a chinese bike which i can trust
50 pounds a month? How? So it'll take 120 months to pay it off? 😂😂
Better off spending your £6k on a used bike from a known brand.
Not really sure I understand the appeal of customisation of this bike. There won’t be much on the aftermarket for it for a start which is usually a major issue for buying stuff!
And why would you use it for a winter hack? Get it covered in salt and treat it badly? It will just rust like anything. Plus it’s £6k! Would a winter hack not be an old fazer or a Vstrom or something for £2-3k?
It's well know in the Philippines
CF-moto are a known brand. Just not big in the west. However they've been " known" here for over 10 years and unlike some more popular Chinese brands like Lex-moto seem to make quality stuff.
They have had a TT race team back in 2016 with their 650cc parallel twin sport bike.
@@freedomofmotion exactly, known for 10 years.
@@Deadonkey85 Ten years is a life time in the tech world and cars and bikes are definitely much more defined by tech nowadays
One plus released their first phone ten years ago and now are one of the most popular smart phone makers.
CF Moto have been trading since 1989 they are established and proven.
Like this reviewer said, get it on finance if it goes wrong the company sorts it out and you have a cheap but decent bike to thrash about as a second bike or even a primary bike.
CF Moto has a stake in Pierer Mobility AG, the group that owns KTM, MV Augusta and Husqvarna. Before acquiring a this ownership stake, they collaborated with KTM to develop engines and chassis. CF Moto is not a fly-by-night company. Heck, they even operate a factory Moto3 GP racing team that are doing quite well this year.
Let's call it on its real name: Chunfeng 450 MT.
What difference does it make?
Lets call it on its real name: Bayerische Motoren Werke Motorrad 1250 GS.
Lets call it on its real name: Kronreif & Trunkenpolz Mattighofen 890 Adventure.
Chunfeng = CF
Chunfeng manufacture the KTM and some Yamaha....wake up
@@tshlkits that guys jingoism bullshit is all.

Disappointing review from Bennetts. If you quote PCP monthly payments, you must quote deposit, guaranteed final value, plus at least a respected independent industry assessment on actual residual values. If not, you are talking about roughly a third of the capital costs. Should do better from a channel I have trusted in the past. It gives the impression Chad is repaying the 'free' holiday.
That's true to a point and we usually do all that in the written review where possible. The reason it was important to mention PCP in this video though was that it's not available on many Chinese brands which means buyers might save money on the purchase price compared to a Japanese or European brand but they lose a huge amount of money when reselling the bike. The availability of PCP on a Chinese bike means you, the buyer don't have to take an unexpected hit on resale. You know the exact total cost of 'ownership' up front. That's a big step forward and will give some riders a lot of extra confidence. Steve R.
You reviewers comment implies £50 per month makes the bike good value. But that's not the case if it has high deposit &/or garenteed future minimum value that leaves you with no equity in the bike to trade-in for your next machine. If you want to make the point PCPs are uncommon on Chinese bikes, just do that. You might also want to say why this is the case.
