So, might share (or re-share, dunno if I already mentioned it under one of yer vids) a funny anectode about Oblivion: the first time my family got its hands on the game was because some friends of my mum had gifted it to her on the 360, since she had met them on a browser RPG game, they'd figure she's love it. Well turns out she didn't, at least initially. The start of the game was way to dark and grey for her tastes, and the fact she died to the rats at the beginning didn't help. She drops the game, about a week later those friends ask her how she's enjoying the game so far, she tells them she's stuck at the beginning. This continues for, I wanna say, a month. Sensing that that excuse won't hold water for much longer, even if she was playing other games at the time, she decides to give it another go. She manages to finally complete the tutorial, reaches the exit to the sewers... ...and bam. For the time, Cyrodiil had left me and her with our jaws on the floor. The stark contrast between the tutorial and the outside open world was something I don't think any game has replicated since, and possibly never will. My mum is shocked. She's now excited, she couldn't have imagined this. She starts exploring, but since this is the Xbox LIVE Gold era a curious misunderstanding happens: she initially believed the NPCs were actually other players. So when the reaches one of the stones, takes it's enchantment, only to leave her with nothing but a pair of deadric boots on, she freaks out, thinking the "other players" would see her with no armor or clothing on, desperately trying to get the armor back on again. Mum ended up falling in love with Oblivion. She pretty much 100%'ed it, DLC included, with the exception of one bugged quest, I believe. Me, I wasn't so keen.
