In fact, there are moments in game which imply, if not outright stating, that you are killed many times along the journey. Here, let me get the first angry rebuttal refuted before going about my day and forgetting this goofy comment even exists: "Oh its just a joke. Why are you so serious? It's not that deep." It is just a joke, which is rooted in the very popular opinion that only 'no-death' runs are accurate to the lore. This is a very common belief that often takes the form of the cliche joke stated above.
my entire reaction here: "WAIT YOU CAN PARRY THAT!?" the entire base game has basically conditioned me into thinking attacks like his power attacks aren't parryable, you're telling they were this entire time!? i thought it was basically just the first attack of his combo.
Parrying bosses is essentially a trial and experiment task that requires dying a hundred times until you find which animations are and are not capable of being parried.

You can see clearly how it completely breaks the game and makes it childs play. So for that reason they have to make it somewhat random with each monster while giving some consistent clues on when its time. That's why I say it's more so a veteran late game hunt feature after you already beaten the game to explore. I feel it was never meant for normal players to really try and use.

I think the most impressive part is using stormwall of all parry ashes. Especially since it has worse parry frames than the standard "parry" skill iirc. Good shit Tarnished.

He doesn’t talk in the base game because he has damn near lost his sanity and accompanied with this makes him come off as a brute with no sense of civility or a meathead.
Damn, this is probably the only way to get anyone from base game to dlc. And after arriving at the final boss grace, melina doesnt give a fk, completely oblivious to everything.
neat fact, only a handful of graces can make Melina spawn to offer you the accord. most of them being in limgrave, and one being the first grace in weeping peninsula (right after the bridge of sacrifice)
