The sky is blue because blue is the least scattered colour in the spectrum. The other colours disappear but red becomes significant again when you're nearly horizontal with the plane. That's why sunsets and sunrises are red/orange ish but most of the day the sky is blue!

I'm at a school in Amsterdam where they also teach film as a mandatory subject in the first 3 years of school (if you want to you can take an other three years and take exams. And I really like it, but the gear we have to work with isn't that great. The editing program is fine and camera's are okay, but the computers are so slow and I've had to redo things so many times. And sometimes you say things like that happened to you and all I can think is "Wow, but your still doing it" Knowing how frustrating it can be.
